Decided Against an Itinerary!

I plan but my plans are just knowing what park is least recommended and avoiding those parks. I don't really like being restricted but the DDP doesn't help as we normally eat in the park and again that has been booked to be in the recommended park for the day.

Same. We plan which park to visit each day based on a crowd calendar and avoiding parks we know are likely to be busy. More often than not though, we spend a couple of hours in our chosen park first thing in the morning then end up somewhere else for the afternoon. I guess this is easier to do when you're staying onsite.

With regards to dining, we try and make most of our reservations around the Epcot area as that's where we stay. It makes it easier for us in the evenings as there's less pressure to get somewhere and be in a rush. When we eat further away we try and do it where we know we're having a more quiet or relaxed day so again, we won't be rushed to get anywhere.

We have ADR's book so have some plans.

But Just because we are eating Dinner in MK doesnt mean we will spend the day there. We rarely do to be honest.

We make it up as we go along. With kids in tow you have to be flexible.

The only park we spend all day in is AK and this is only because it closes earlier than the others. Not every time we visit mind, as we tend to go here at least 3 times during a 14 day trip.

I would be inclined to just draw out what parks you "must" visit. And what rides you "must" ride. You may find winging it wont get you on ALL of the biggies. Esp on busy days, and if your only visiting a park once during 14 days you want to make sure you get the important ones sorted.

Most days we just wait to see what bus turns up (on resort) and catch that one,

:lmao: That's pretty random!

I've heard of people who just wander around WDW aimlessly and don't realise they missed half the things until they get back.

I suppose whether you need to plan or not depends on what kind of people you are - we'd discuss/argue about where to go, then go and get breakfast and then it'd be lunchtime and we still wouldn't have done anything.

I need to go to bed knowing where I'm heading the next morning.

I know:goodvibes

to be honest we do not do exactly that! We generally go with which ever arrives first out of say MK or HS for example. But we then rarely stay in that park all morning, we do generally park hop a lot!! I suppose it comes down to the fact we've been so often we know what we don't want to do ie..the tikki room or its a small world :)

I love doing our itinery! It's all part of the trip! You need to leave room for anything unexpected that crops up! In oct 2011 we had a tropical storm over our middle weekend and all our plans had to be moved around! But it was ok we just had to hang out at the malls! It was a tough weekend! The main reason we do a plan is so we can try and get the most out of our tickets. Our last trip in may went with no hitches and had to make no changes for the itinery. I fact we had way more spare time than expected. Which meant a spontaneous trip to magic kingdom one evening when it was open til 1am! Def one of the trip highlights!
