Decent pizza delivered to resort?

Just wondering if any of you have recommendations, as we'll probably use 2 TS credits in one day and look to have pizza delivered later in the week.

When answering, please be reminded that Dominoes, Little Caesars, Pizza Hut and Papa Johns do not qualify as food, much less pizza.

Thanks in advance for any feedback you might have.

Bonus points for those who are answering if your last name ends in an "O" and you reside anywhere on Long Island, Bensonhurst/Bay Ridge, Jersey City/Hoboken, Boston or Providence. No offense of course to those who do not.

I'm Irish, so I know good pizza. Giordano's-I've never ordered it but I have been to the restaurant. It's deep dish Chicago pizza & pretty much amazing!!! It takes time to cook so keep that in mind. Just 1 slice will fill ya up! Enjoy!

Giordano's, we haven't had their deep dish, but had a couple of regular pies delivered to AKL. Good pizza, fair price.

LOL, I like both thin and thick, but I have never heard thin crust ever called a "pizza pie" Deep dish is a pie. Pie's are thick. Thin crust is a saucer, not a pie.
On Long Island they are all pies. When I moved to NC we called to order a pizza and asked for a large pie with pepperoni. Poor girl taking the order paused and said quite indignantly "ma'am we don't make pie."

I am not a huge fan of Giordanos. It is good but just not to my liking..I have had it in Chicago and well.. I prefer New York Style myself or really thin and crispy crust. With that being said...Giordanos is way better than the chain places so I would go for it.

I think everyone knows what REAL pizza is!

Pizza pie refers to the shape, not the thickness!
"sweet" Pizza is thick, has less mozzarella, more parm, and is usually served cold. Especially left over for breakfast!
Pizza pie is hot and thin (analogy meant), with whatever toppings you like... Love a Margherita pie!
Of course, this all depends on what part of the country you are from!
I can tell you though, I have never had anything closely resembling real good Pizza anywhere near WDW.
Gotta check out Via Napoli yet

People also feel quite strongly about lobster rolls and the correct way to serve and eat seafood. (Best to not inquire on certain food items.)
Crack. Me. Up. !!!
There's a current thread about Cape May...
I mean if you live where there's no Ocean or waterway... 'Nuff said! Lol!

I pity your pizza predicament. Does your body go into shock when offered a slice that tastes more like food and less like the box it came in?

It's possible I have never had a "good" pizza having never traveled very far north. We have a local Italian place that is my very favorite pizza, but most of the time it's chain pizza.

I live in a tiny town in the middle of the mountains with no chains, and which didn't have a pizza place at all when I was little. It was always a treat to get a book it certificate and somehow have another reason (usually a dr. appointment) to make the hour long drive to the nearest "city" where I would get some Pizza Hut. I guess I have too much nostalgia, because I still love me some pizza hut. :rotfl:

Italian from NJ here. Yes, my name ends with an O. Lol I regrettably tried WDW pizza delivery once at a value resort but it was b/c my roommate was starving, it was late & he was paying. I have not tried Giordano's or Flipper's yet but am curious to see how they are myself. My suggestion was to get your pizza fix at Via Napoli & wait til you get home for the good stuff.

Report back if possible. :)

WARNING - DANGER WILL ROBINSON - WARNING:

we stayed off site for 4 nights before our AKL stay last month. We actually DID receive one of these flyers under our door while staying off-site. DH was interesting in ordering but luckily I'd seen this message here (possibly your posts prior to our trip) and was like "oh no! we can't order from that". DH googled and number and sure enough it was a scam.
Thanks for savings us a lot of hassle!

OMG, how could I not know there is a Giordano's pizza? Guess I know what we will be ordering, lol!!! My nephew will be ecstatic!!!!! Thanks Rusty!!!

My name ends in an "i" and I'm from Long Island.

The only pizza we ever eat in WDW is... wait for it... Toy Story Pizza Planet. (QUICK-- someone get the smelling salts for the OP.)

Yeah, I know it's just Elio's pizza, right out of the box. It's not even Dominos. But my daughter is a huge Toy Story fan, and she loves the atmosphere. So we take one for the team.

Beyond that, we don't order pizza (or bagels for that matter) at WDW. There are simply too many foods we know we'll enjoy. Pizza at WDW isn't one of them.
