December

We're staying at CSR 11/26-12/10. I thought they stayed at the values and POR. My DH and DS like to grab breakfasts at the food court around 7 so we can catch the bus for RD. Are the food courts going to be impossible to manage to make it on time? How does this impact the pools as my DSis (Their first trip so I want it to be nice :wizard:)has a toddler and preschooler and won't want them trampled. I don't think we can switch as POR and FQ are blocked for FD and CBR doesn't show any availability. How many are at CSR? Will it be as bad as the values?

No way will the experience resemble the values. My fried stayed at one of the All Stars the night befoe we arrived, and she said it was a nightmare. The security team was out but could not seem to contain them there. At CSR the kids were on the bus and we heard them taking about the food court, but honestly, thee was no impact. They were well behaved and polite. I heard they were rambunctious on the bus one day, but I never observed that.

There should not be any issues any more than any other time. We are here now with some tour groups and so far everyone is behaving and no problems at all. Like everyone else, excited to be here. I think most of the bad behaviors are the exception rather than the norm.

This last year I thought the weather was a little cool for FL at that time of the year. (I lived there for a few years) But the crowds were great. I didn't think it was horribly crowded. Yes I did some poor planing thinking it would be less let alone some of the new technology and all had really changed since the last time I went but when I take my kids I'll be going in the beginning of the month.

We were there December 13-21, 2014 and the weather was fantastic, crowds were light-moderate until about the 19th and then grew daily. It was way too crowded for me by that last day! I imagine it is busier now so would probably shift the early December weeks that you are eyeing if I were to go back at that time. We also loved the decorations and the MVMCP. I think it would be a great first-time trip time as long as you get your fastpasses and dining reservations squared away (if you plan on sitting down to eat, that is). Have fun!!!

We were there 12/6-12/13. Pop warner wasn't a big deal and never made us feel like it was more crowded. We rarely waited for anything longer than 20 mins. It was pretty warm for the most part. We had a couple of cool nights. We loved it so much we'll be going back around the same time next year :)

I have been there numerous times at that time of the year, great time to go.

Overall, best time of the year to go.

Weather. Certainly variable, generally nice. 2010 was downright frigid, and I am from Chicago.

Crowd levels. Comparatively low. Not as low as years ago, but still good.

Orlando is typically cool in the winter though. Every once in a while it will be warm..but this is not normal i.e. a week or so last year.
I lived in South Florida for 17 years, and I would never categorize Orlando as having warm winters. But then again, if you're from Fargo...they may feel warm :)

I normally found Dec in FL still fairly warm. I am talking mid to high 70s. We were in the 60's maybe reaching 75 when my husband and I visited, even he thought it was a little cool during the day. When I was living down there I was still in capris, tees, and flip flops till January during the day. Maybe we would have a few cold days in december but normally that meant we had a storm around.

I've never done that, my winter wear was leggings, uggs, a long sleeve tee and a scarf...and that's in SoFla which is much warmer than Central Florida!! But I love warm..hate anything below 80. I have photos of myself and my sister(who visited me one Thanksgiving)..she is laying on the beach in a bikini, I am in a hoodie and sweats...funny pic, and totally shows difference in climate tolerance. Anytime past October I am in a wetsuit in the ocean...and I would rarely ever go North of Jupiter..lol. 60s-70s sound like the Orlando I know.

If you ask my son though, he thinks that is "hot" weather.ha ha We are so opposite. His top 2 places the he wants to visit are- Iceland and Antarctica...I don't even understand it!!haha

What are the first and second weeks in December like? How are crowds and the weather? Do you think this would be a good time for a couple of first timers? It an all adult trip.

As with 'any' dates, the weather can certainly vary from year to year. We vow not to go again in Dec. as we picked two 'unlucky' years. The worst one was Dec. '10 - nearly froze to death!! Lows in 20's - highs in 40's with wind - 'not' my kind of weather to be out in enjoying myself!! :crazy2:
