Who's going down in Dec?
We are going the first two weeks of Dec. Staying at CSR, I'm going to miss POR.
Driving down, trying to decide on which car or truck to take. The gas saver or total comfort, what to do, what to do?

will be there december 6 to the 16th staying at the Caribbean beach, first time going for christmas holidays been in september, june and august other trips but look forward to the christmas season and all the decorations. I would drive down in comfort even if it meant spending more on gas, the distance you will be driving is worth putting out the extra cost. do you have all your dining reservations done? Have you been to wdw before at xmas time?:surfweb:

We are going from Deceber 6-15th. Staying at FW cabins. We too are driving down this time. This is the first time we are driving. I too would go with comfort, it is a long drive and you want to arrive relaxed. We are surprising the kids and it will be such fun to see the looks on their faces when we tell them we are leaving that day!

 We are going to Walt Disney World and other parks from Dec 5th-29th. We stay onsite from Dec 5th- Dec 19th and then offsite until Dec 29th.

Leave Nov. 28th for Hollywood Beach for 3 days and then we cruise to Key West and Cozumel Mexico for 5 days!

We are so excited!!!!

52 days until we leave on a Months Vacation from the Cold East Coast of Canada!!!!!!

Hey.....we are going December 22-30th :santa: and staying at CSR this time.
CBR is my favourite for sure. We stayed at POR over March Break this year and although I did like it, enjoyed the pool, the pool drinks, and our room in magnolia bend I can't help but like CBR better.
We decided to try CSR as my husband wants a gym, and none of us has stayed here before.
Can't wait for the christmas holiday..... never been away for christmas :santa: before. I don't care how busy it is, just happy to be away and not have to cook and clean for 10 days!
We fly out of buffalo and love that also.
I can't believe you drive from Oshawa....ugggh. I am not a drive to my holiday woman.... 3 hours is my max for staying in the car!!
Have a great time....to all.

We will be there Dec 27 - Jan 2. It is a surprise for the kidlets too. We are staying at CBR but am still hopeful of getting into POFQ. Also, we are driving because apparently it will be fun to drive down with a 14 and 9 year old in a wagon.....

Our first Christmas at WDW...oooooooh. We fly into Tampa for three days at Busch Gardens. We then drive up to Wdw and stay at Por for one night. We then transfer over to our home resort AKV. We stay there 2 nights club level:lovestruc , Then on Christmas Eve morning we hop on the Wonder for a 4 night DCL cruise. :cool1: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: December 18-28th.

We will be there from 12/12 through the 21;st. We are splitting our stay between the WLV and the AKLV

We will be going down, for the very first time, Dec 2-11! We are staying offsite in a condo in Windsor Hills. Can't wait!!

This is our second time going to WDW during Christmas and we will be there from Dec 25 to Jan 5 staying at AKV. :thumbsup2

For those staying on site and going down over Christmas, what are the crowds like. I hear it's the absolute busiest time to go? Also, what kind of weather can you expect?

I am planning a Christmas 2009 trip

The weather was nice during the days. Cooler in the evenings, needing a jacket. Take advantage of Extra Magic hours. Do early mornings and before the crowds arrive. People are packed in like sardines. Last year people were falling on my son's lap in MK on New Years eve (He is in a wheelchair). We had to get security to escort us out. People were rude and would not move. Not very Cheery either!

The decorations are beautiful and the spirit of Christmas is so alive. We love Disney the weeks leading up to Christmas. Not the week of Christmas through NY Eve. We will never stay onsite at Christmas. This year we go onsite until Dec 19th and offsite until Dec 29th...

I hope you enjoy it!

I want to take the truck but the boss is insisting on the car, about a 400 dollar difference total. Plus I think it needs new brakes and the engine is starting to make the same noise it made the last three times they replaced the top of the motor. Trying to convince her the truck can haul back more stuff:rotfl: . We were there last year at the same time and loved it, not to busy and the atmosphere was amazing. We have the reservations we need or want in the parks and are going to wing the rest. We found last year that the hotel restaurants were easier to get into on a whim, within an hour wait to be seated.

I need to be able to vacation like you:worship: maybe one day if I work harder:rotfl:

What do you mean, your drive would only be 20 minutes more:lmao: . I don't mind the drive but others do. The drive was nice through the mountains of the Virginias but a real snooze was the I95 through Florida, three lanes straight as an arrow for ever, at least it felt that way.

We experienced nice days and cool nights the first two weeks of the month last year and got the "You must be Canadians" from the locals we were wearing shorts in the mid teens while they are all bundled up:rotfl: .
From everything I've read Christmas week is the busiest time of the year but as long as you have your ADR's and have a game plan it can be enjoyable. I would love to go for New Years Eve, everyone says the fireworks are amazing. I'm a fireworks junkie.

get to go again... but we will be there Dec 13 - 23.   Staying at POP again. First visit was last Aug, so looking forward to no humidity. :dance3: I can look forward to NO humidity, RIGHT??:sad2:

Going to love seeing all the decorations in such nice weather. :santa:

There is just two of us which makes this vacation affordable. I plan a year in advance and pay a little each month and have no debt from it. I budget. Our cruise for 4 nights/ 5 days was just $189 per person (Ocean view). The total Canadian was just $532 everything included!

Hotel in Hollywood, FLorida was just $78 nightly(2 Nights). Disney hotel I got the 40% pin code offer for $49 a night for Movies. A firend is coming with her child and we split the cost with each paying $25 plus tax a night! 14 nights X 25 = $350. Our offsite hotel (Best Western Lakeside in Kissimmee) was just $49 dollars Canadian. Kids eat free! $49 X 11 = $683 txs in. Divide that by two= $341.50!!!!!

Disney AP purchased with airlmiles last year and Universal tickets purchased this year with airmiles = $0 !

Airline tickets $235 tx in roundtrip from Portland, Maine . I had a 168.00 credit= $480-168= $312.00 total. Airline tickets from Miami to Orlando $140 for two!

Total Coast with a year to pay is ; Hollywood Beach $156
Disney Hotel $350
Best Western $341.50
Cruise $532.00
Airline tickets $312.00
Airline Tickets $140.00

Total = $1831! For one month and a day! Plus some food (not on cruise) Affordable for a month?

I am 63 days away from spending Dec 10th to the 18th in Paradise!
Dec 10th to the 14th at Polynesian and 14th to 18th on the Disney Wonder :)
Can't wait!!

Love disney in december!! its my absolute favourite time to go! :santa:

Count us in too as well. Decmber 30th to January 8, staying at SSR. Love WDW for the holidays:thumbsup2

We're going Dec 17 to Jan 1. Staying at Windsor Hills.
I plan on going straight out from early of the 18th to as much as we can Dec 24th. the second week I hope to sit by the pool while the crowds at Disney ar the worst.

We may end up going to a park here and there just to see something for a bit on the crowded days (if I am forced to), but hope to be able to see the fireworks NYE .

Any ideas where?
