The lights at HS. A must see. Period. I have a short movie clip of my wife looking around and the look on her face is priceless. I'd also visit the resorts and look at their decorations. I think AK, BW and GF do a great job. We also loved the Christmas processional at EPCOT. it was a wonderful experience.

This past December and a couple of others I made it a point to take part of a day - well the best part of a day and rode buses, monorails and boats without going to a park. I went to the monorail resorts, the boardwalk resorts and Widlerness Lodge and Downtown Disney just to look at the Christmas decorations. One year my son and I did the Segway tour at Epcot which was fun. I know you said this is a trip without kids - my son was in his twenties at the time. it might also be a time to do a tour that is limited to adults like the backstage magic one. We also did Blizzrd Beach one year and it was really empty that day. We had a ball and got a laugh about the lifeguard in their long pants and jackets. It was really not that cold but they seemed to think so. It is a get time to go to Disney - be prepared for any kind of weather and depending on when in December you are going for any size crowds. Have a magical trip.

Well my favorite is the Osbourne lights at HS. Also you will probably enjoy wishes. If you have time check out the decorations at the resorts especially at GF.

Osborne Lights in Hollywood Studios.

Chocolate Carousel inside Yacht & Beach Club Resort.

Life-sized Ginger Bread House inside Grand Floridian.

Candlelight Processional is also fun (if you enjoy the story of baby Jesus and accompanying gospel music).

The Candlelight Processional is my favorite show all year. Check the schedule of narrators which usually comes out in the summer and choose a night with a narrator who interests you. I recommend the dinner package for priority seating.

Visit the holiday storytellers in Epcot. Norway's is the best.

Must-see resorts are GF (life-sized gingerbread house and huge tree), BC (gingerbread carousel), YC (train set), WL, and AKL.

DH & I started visiting in December long before we had kds....we love Disney World at Christmas! I would definitely do MVMCP as a couple. Have a pre-party dinner for two, watch the parade as the snow falls on Main Street, hit all of YOUR favorite rides- and you can even sit together!

As others have said, there are lots of fun things to do in December in WDW. My family toured all of the resorts (not just the deluxes) to see the different decorations. Every resort has some level of decorations. The Deluxes have the most elaborate and include some type of showpiece. The moderates and values all have some decorations and it's fun to see how it's themed to the resorts.

For the parks, there is MVMCP at MK. It's fun and worth doing at least once because you'll get to see the Christmas Parade or Holiday Wishes (they become daily events after the last MVMCP ends). Candlelight Processional is interesting and worth at least seeing part of. Osborne Lights is fun and there is a lot to see and do. Each park also has decorations that are fun to see.

Like the others have said Osbourne Lights, candlelight processional, sleigh ride thru ft wilderness campgrounds (campers decorate..I believe this was ~$70 for up to 4 people), Epcot Storytellers, gingerbread house at GF, huge Christmas tree at WL, chocolate carousel at beach club (I think it was BC). All the resorts are decorated but the deluxe resorts went out. There was an article I read once that suggested visiting the resorts during the day when you have the MVMCP scheduled for that night. The tickets are pricey but honestly might be worth the price just to see the toy soldiers March down the street. You can meet characters in their Christmas clothes too....Mickey and Minnie wore their sweaters at AK and Santa Goofy was at HS. Have a blast OP. I went on my first Christmas trip last Dec....dream come true.

A tour sounds good, but we've already done this one. What are your favorite adult only tours?

I don't think it's adults only, but I thought kids had to be like 16? maybe, to do the Keys to the Kingdom tour. We had all adults on our tour. We loved it, it lasted about 5 hours, with a stop along main street to get started, learning interesting history on the beginnings of WDW, a couple rides and backstage at those rides (depending on the tour guide and times, it's one or two rides), and other backstage areas, learning about Walt and Roy which was awesome, and with a lunch at Columbia harbor house about 3 hrs in, and then touring some more special backstage areas.

This is a tour we definitely want to do again because we loved it so much! And this year we are doing the Marceline to Magic tour, similar to the keys tour, but only 3 hours and with some different content, and we are excited to go after reading some great reviews of this tour.

Osborne Light at DHS! It's our favorite Christmas attraction at WDW. The Candlelight Processional is also amazing. You can get the dinner package so you have guaranteed seats, otherwise it can be hard to get seats on nights when they have certain narrators. We also love checking out all of the decorations at the deluxe resorts too. They're gorgeous!

MVMCP at MK is also really fun! The parade is awesome and the event definitely puts you in the Christmas spirit!
