December MaGiC or was it?!? TR starts Pg. 39

Onto picking a hotel....we have always stayed at Values. I personally like the color scheme & decor at all of them. DH said he has only 1 request this time which is lets stay at a mod or deluxe. He loves AKL but we went check it out last trip & I just didn't like it (please, I know practically everyone loves it, but I just don't). Its too boring for me, meaning the colors I see everywhere is browns. On vacation I like a pick me up so I prefer bright colors. Since he knew that one was out the question he said pick anyone I'd like just not a value.

Here goes, more looking, lurking.....

I really liked CS & was hooked on that one for a while. Loved the mexican flare. Loved that it had its own bus. The waterslide was great for my oldest DS. It seemed great. What I didn't like was the food court. Seemed like it would be time consuming & just didn't appeal to me anymore. We normally ate lots of meals at the hotel.

Next I considered POFQ. I like the decor as we are from the New Orleans area. Loved it being a small resort. Loved the downtown boat. It has a waterslide. Food court sounded good.

So I decided on POFQ.

Then we decided on DDP which would mean we wouldn't be eating a lot of meals at the hotel, so maybe CS would be good....

But as for now its POFQ.

:offtopic: On another note - checked our flights & it went up $110 so now I feel like I got a deal. I love deals. :woohoo:

Isn't that best feeling! :thumbsup2

This is such a great report. Your baby is adorbale- love those cheeks!!!!! Can't wait to read more.

Do any of you get new clothes for your trip?

It seems I always end up having pictures in Disney with the same clothes on as last trip. I never buy me clothes. I don't really like clothes shopping. It's so hard to find clothes to fit right. My waist is small, yet my hips & thighs are big so pants don't fit right. For it to fit right in the lower quarters, its big in my waist & belts...well I don't do belts..

Even shirts, I can get shirts to fit right up top but as they flow down to my hip area, there is that problem again.

Well, onto my reason for posting now. Yesterday I went shopping for an outfit to go with DS1 on his field trip. I always bring DH with me as his fashion sense is better than mine. I bought 2 outfits, 1 for the field trip & 1 that I'll say is for my trip. So - yay me :cheer2: - I got a new outfit for Disney. And yes, I will wear it prior to December but atleast it'll be something new to bring. :goodvibes

Great so far! Your family is adorable!! Sorry about all your losses.:flower3: We also have something in common. Your anniversary is my birthday!! And it so happens I will be at WDW on that very day. We are going to be at the POP from Dec. 6-10, just DH and I. We try to go every year on my birthday, but missed last year. This is my 40th so I had to be there!
You'll love POFQ. It is my absolute favorite! I wish we could stay there for my birthday, but we've got other trips planned and we have to spread the money out. ;) The resort is so peaceful after a day in the parks. The kids love the pool and the boat to Downtown Disney just seems to make it more special. It's almost always the first on and off when it shares buses with POR and at the peak times (Park closing or after fireworks) POFQ has a bus of its own.
Looking forward to more!popcorn::

Hi & thanks for stopping by.

You know its amazing how much all of us Disers have in common with one another. I guess thats part of why we are who we are. :thumbsup2

I really think I'll like staying at POFQ. I have read so many good things about it. Whenever the discounts codes for that time come out (hopefully they will) if for some reason I can't get POFQ at a discount I know I have a backup. But who knows, maybe by then I'll be set on POFQ. ;)

Well I hope you have a very good birthday. I will think about you that day & deffinitely be looking for a 40 year old with a birthday button, right? ;)

Stay tuned for more...getting into the nitty gritty soon...

I'd prefer to think I look like a thirty year old with a birthday button, but look for me anyway. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Day #1

Day 1 will be Friday, November 30. Its our day of arrival. Remember 1st time flying so that ought to be a hoot :scared1: Really, I think I'll be strong because of my children. Can't let them see Mommy is scared.

So, plans as of now are (its soooo early anything can change). Infact, I actually hope the times of our flight does by a bit.

We should be packed by the weekend before we leave. Probably around Thanksgiving. Infact we'll go shopping for anything we might need.

I guess I should mention DH's birthday is the day before we leave. Happy Bday DH!!!

DH has off of work on Fridays; I don't  Thats okay though. The thought of being at work in the a.m. & Disney in the p.m. is so great!! We usually drive 12 hours so just thinking about the above statement makes me smile :goodvibes

So, I put DS1 on the bus to school, drop off DS2 at daycare & head over to work. DH will load the luggage & make sure everything at home is ready to go. At lunch time (which is 11:30 a.m. for me) I will leave work for the day. Go pick up DS2 & DS1 and head home. It'll probably take an hour for that. So, it'll be 12:30 p.m. Of course I'll have to go over anything DH has done to make sure its done right ;) So now it should be 1:00 p.m. or so. We'll all take baths/showers just incase we don't feel like it when we retire for bed at Disney :cloud9: We have to leave home by 3:00 p.m. On the way to the airport we plan on stopping at Sonic to grab a bite to eat which will be late lunch/early dinner. We should get to the airport by 4:00 p.m./4:20 p.m. Our flight is at 6:45 p.m. Hopefully it'll be on time. :woohoo:

We are scheduled to arrive at MCO at 9:30 p.m. so I am thinking by the time ME gets us to our room it'll be 10:30 p.m. or later. After checking in probably 11:30 p.m. or later (which is why I think DH will need to get our own luggage on ME *reasoning for getting new luggage* you get the idea ;) ) I am sure we will all be wound up and not ready for bed & its a different time range than at home so we may walk around the resort for a while or catch a bus downtown (depending on the time) Whatever we do we'll probably need to walk off the excitement alittle. So needless to say, it'll be a late night. I'd really like to go Downtown to Ghirardelli's and pay OOP for a treat since we did have an early dinner. Wouldn't that be a cool start to our fun!!

I guess I am hoping the flight will leave a little earlier than intended now so that we'll get settled in earlier.

Whatever the case, its all okay because we'll be in Disney :goodvibes and we have a slow day planned for Day2....

DAY 2

***I should start off by saying this is plan as of now (April) but when the park hours for my vacation are released (around May/June) some of this may change. Probably not much though. I will compare better with TGM but I really like my schedule as far as ADRs, late nights, sleep in mornings, etc. It all falls right for us. So, I may just use TGM's touring guidelines but keep my parks on the days I already have picked if it doesn't look too bad.***

:offtopic: Another thing I want to add today is...I don't feel well  I came down with a cold last night. Best part? I am going with DS1 pluto: on a field trip to the zoo today. I actually should be getting ready for that instead of posting here. But you all know how that goes :goodvibes Better get started :hourglass

Day 2, Saturday, Dec. 1

Sleep in till whatever time the kids wake up. We will all be tired from last night's adventures; whatever they turn out to be.

I plan on packing some pop tarts & such for breakfast. So we'll do that in the room. I plan on shipping that by FEDEX to the hotel along with DS2's diapers about a week before.

Then its off to MK - gotta get DS2's 1st haircut on Main Street. We done the same thing with DS1 (check out the pics on page 1) So, its a tradition. DH said we should get something done w/DS1's hair too so he doesn't feel left out. Maybe the pixie dust or the Hidden Mickey hair gel. I know the Barber shop opens at 9 but I think judging on my family, we'll get there a little later so I plan on having to wait in line to get it done. Also, I "think" the Christmas parade may be getting taped so that may be a little something extra to slow us down, but thats okay - no hurry today. :goodvibes

Next I just have to ride Splash Mountain with DS1. He is just my lovable Disney boy - he loves it as much as me & I dreamt of the day I could ride Splash with him for the very first time. And this will be it!! He is finally tall enough!!:yay: I am so excited about this. Its my favorite ride & I just know he'll love it!!!

Then I want to go have lunch at Pinnochio's Village Haus using a CS. Hopefully we'll be able to get good seats overlooking Fantasyland. I am really hoping to do this by 11:30 a.m. I think it'll be a mood setter for the rest of the vacation. We have never eaten here but we will be on the DDP so we will try many different places. The Italian sub I saw in the food porn thread caught my eye for here. :thumbsup2

After lunch, we will head back to POFQ, maybe swim but deffinitely rest & relax.

I plan on booking Hoop Dee Doo for 7:15 p.m. so that should put us getting back to POFQ for a decent hour to enjoy Day 3. So when we do get back to our room, it will be bathes, then bed right away. This will use 2 TS but thats okay as we'll have the ones from Day 1 that we didn't use.

Anyone know how long Hoop Dee Doo lasts? I may switch that to the 5 p.m. show. See, thats why I love writing my plan down - it helps me to use better judgment. ;) But the 5 p.m. show may too close to our lunch where we may not be so hungry. But then maybe not because we'll be having sandwiches for lunch. Note to self *Bigger Breakfast Day 3 morning - eating dinner earlier may help for that*....so we'll see after I find out how long it lasts.

Someone just gave me a really good idea  Do the 5 p.m. HDD then take the boat back to MK for Spectro. We should be able to watch in front the front of MK which would mean faster to get out. I was planning on doing Spectro on Day 3 (because it was going to be an early night) but I have something else in mind :rolleyes1

DAY 3

Sunday, December 2

This day I have planned AK. The normal park hours for this park is 9-5

DS1 only requested to eat with 1 character :donald: so I opted for Donald's Breakfastosaurus this day. Early if possible. I know Donald is also at Chef Mickey's but we've done that one before. I wanted to try different places. I've read mixed reviews on Donald's but I'll just have to try it for myself. If the food is too bad, atleast I've seen they have Krispy Kreme Donuts ;)

I am not sure where the Restaurant is but I hope its away from the animals in the front. That way when we finish eating & the park opens we'll be able to bypass the animals in the front. People tend to crowd those areas upon arrival. I have been there before for rope drop & loved it. All the characters come to the front for pictures & autographs but its okay if we miss it this time. ;) **Note to self - Find out where restaurant is**

I would like to start off in Dinoland. We always seem to be there upon closing & are rushed. I guess thats because we always take a left in the beginning. Anyway, once I figure out where the restaurant is; we'll probably do/see whatever is near us at that time. Maybe it would be a great time to see Festival of the Lion King or Pochantas & her Forrest Friends, which would allow our breakfast to settle before any rides. Yep, that sounds good. So after that, we'll do Dinoland. Maybe. :upsidedow

Pretty much where ever our feet take us after that. If we miss the animals, thats okay. (Maybe I feel like that since I went to the zoo with 17 - 5 year olds yesterday!!!)

The parade here is normally good so I don't want to miss that. ** Mental note**

I'd like to end up eating an early dinner at Flametree BBQ. Maybe get there around 4:30 p.m. or so We can sit & eat while others are leaving the park. Then leave too.

My original plan was to go see Spectro tonight but instead we will have done it on Day 2. So that leaves tonight open. So, we will go back to POFQ & get everyone's bath's done. Then catch the boat to DTD & have the ice cream treat I mentioned on Day 1 (because I honestly don't think we'll have time that evening :sad2: ) So this way we can still do it; we'll have eaten dinner early & I'll say that on Day 1 we'll just walk around POFQ a little while before bed.

How does it sound so far guys?

Okay, back again, done some research & got some help. Looks like everything will work out. We'll have breakfast in Dinoland (which is where Donald's is at - explains why we never saw it - we've always had to rush through Dinoland) then on over to Camp Minnie-Mickey for the shows I mentioned then back to Dinoland making a complete circle, minus Camp Minnie-Mickey & end up back in the middle for Flametree. We do't usually do "everything" here so time should be fine. For sure, DH & DS1 wants to go on Kali River Rapids but me & DS2 will be waiting because I don't care for that one.

It sounds great! We really like the Flame Tree- it isa nice change of pace from burgers. More later- I have to get the kids ready!
