December and pools

We are planning on visiting the Mouse in early December this year and I'm trying to decide what type of accomodations to reserve. My mom and her husband are thinking of spending a few days with us so I'm leaning more towards renting a house. My DH and kids would love to have a pool but I'm not sure it will be warm enough in December to even use it. I don't mind paying a fee to have it heated but will it really be heated enough for December? Do any of the resorts have heated/indoor pools that are open in December? Or should we jsut not worry about using a pool then?

there are several houses that have heated pools - also several resorts.

depends the highs in Dec can be in 80's - it can also be in 40's - the same WEEK....

We have been several times in December and the pool was fine to swim in (we had it heated). Sometimes the outside temperature can fall at this time of year and pool heaters can only heat so much above the outside temperature. A gas heater is the most efficient but electric should be ok too unless it is very cold - a solar heater isn't enough at this time of year at all.
The worst bit for me is getting out of the pool if the outside temp is a bit cool but you can always run in to a hot shower.

Last month we rented a 6-bedroom house and had the pool heated. My sister's kids (from PA) thought the weather and the pool were nice and warm. My kids (from Vegas) thought the weather and the pool were fine, but not as warm as their cousins said. My Dad (74 yo) was in the jacuzzi, but only in the pool once (he lives in AZ/FLA/NV).

Moral: A lot of it is where you're from. For your family, you'll probably be sunbathing! My sister's kids were!!! LOL!!!
