December 9, 2012 Disney Dream Cruise Meets

Maybe each of us could write any down on a little piece of paper and put it in the top pocket of our fe hangers. Then if we go to a door with no fe that we thought should have someone we can check the next pocket we get to?

As far as having the cabin locations ours is mid deck on the port side on http://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/Main/decks.php?ship=Disney%20Dream map the first green shaded room. This interactive map of the ship is really neat and very easy to use. Just select your floor from the box on the left of the page. Its in a red bordered box, there is also a little diagram of the ship to the left telling you what port, aft, starboard, and bow are for those like me who need that.

Thanks for all the hard work and time you have put into this, it is greatly appreciated!

Tracy,
We are from Ohio, too. Where in the state are you? We are driving down.

We are up in Avon Lake, just west of Cleveland. We have not decided if we are leaving on Friday or Saturday yet. Will head down the usual 77 route through the Virginias and Carolinas to I-95.

Not sure when we are coming back, have tix to the Nutcracker on the 16th so we need to be back by then :)

Hi there! I just booked today and am extremely excited. This will be our second cruise with Disney. I was wondering if it was to late to join the exchange, I understand if it is as we are only a few weeks away. I do look forward to the meet and greet.

Hi Carol,

Its not too late yet, but what we have decided to do is split the group into an A and B group. Some members of Group A will also be participating in B. Many of the Group A participants have run out of time to take more participants. If you will send me your information I will set you up in Group B. We will close Group B on the 19th of November. This is the start of Thanksgiving week and the last week of any free time for most. I will send you a private message with my personal e-mail address.

Thanks,

Christopher

Anyone ever done or planning to do the gingerbread house decorating?

We are hoping to. From what I just read on another thread though you need tickets which you get at guest services, no extra cost, just a ticket. And you are not able to bring it home. My girls will not be happy about that one. Don't know the reasoning.

Either way may be another cool little thing to have in the room. Well until its eaten :)

I am also curious to know if anyone is interested in a facebook group? Help get to know each other a little before we go maybe as well as keep in touch after? I will make one if there is interest.

Not doing the gingerbread house. Allergy issue!

I facebook so I would be willing to do a group. It will be easier to share pictures later. Can we make it a closed group so you must join the group before you can see photos?

Thanks,

Christopher

I updated the front post to reflect the Group A and Group B's

Also separated a list for the meet and Greet from the FE's. If anyone can do both groups let me know. Group B will have a cutoff of the Monday prior to Thanksgiving. That was a date expressed by others early on. For those who let me know you could take more participants, please let me know if you want to be part of group B also. I don't want to assume anything.

Thanks,

Christopher

Oh sorry about the allergy issue and the gingerbread house. But at least then you don't have to deal with the "I want to keep it" issue.

I think a closed group would be best. I will get it figured out today and get it on here.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/365253410235094/http://
is our facebook group. It is currently a closed group at this time.

We can make it a secret group if that is preferred by majority vote.

Also for those of you who don't have or want facebook, I have requested that any important information that need shared be posted here. I don't want to exclude anyone or for anyone to feel like they are missing information if they choose not to have facebook.

Tracy, I have not heard of this. Where did you find the information? My girls are missing their gingerbread house tradition with my mom this year because of the cruise. This sounds like the next best thing!

I am no longer on FB (due to family drama) and am glad to see you will also be posting information here. Thanks for including us non FB

Has anyone else seen the new military discounts for our cruise (cat 5A, $85/ night pp) I got an email yesterday and they were included in it. Does this mean our cruise is at a lower capacity?

I don't know anything about Military Discounts but my travel agent did mention that our cruise is has very cheap rates for Florida residents so I would definitely think our ship is not near capacity.

I have been on a sold out cruise and a cruise at low capacity and to me the only difference I noticed in crowds was around the pool. On the sold out cruise, we couldn't even get near the pool, which was fine by us cause we aren't big swimmers.

This is on my list of things to do. But I don't know if it is for all December cruises or just for the week of Christmas. I plan on asking guest services as soon as we board the ship. My first Disney cruise (a couple of years ago) was a December cruise and I don't remember seeing anything about a gingerbread decorating class cause i know I would have signed up for it if it was advertised. I do remember the ship had a huge gingerbread house in one of the lounges. I took tons of pics.

I saw the Gingerbread houses in an ad/video on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3rD-e4M1uI&list=PLyrj8loEj-M_mUSA8ZNf1zFxo7VMoHpRA&index=4&feature=plpp_videoAnd I have spent way too much time on these DIS boards. From what I have found in threads on this board they are available all December. Most saying you need a ticket. However one poster said when they went they were told to form 2 lines one with tickets and one with out. There were so many people who got tickets and didn't show that lots with out tickets were allowed in.

While the video is old. The dates on the threads I am going by were new. If you look at the main Cruise thread list I think it was Holiday or Christmas cruise activities threads. They are on the first page or so of new posts/topics. There are tons of activities that are just Christmas cruise. But still many we will enjoy as well.

You would think it would be easier to see what will be available on the Disney Planning site and not have to dig so much for the information.

Thanks for the link on the video, I hadn't seen that one before. It was very cool. I don't remember snow machines on Castaway Cay either, another thing I will have to look out for.:goodvibes
