December 9, 2012 Disney Dream Cruise Meets

I just wanted to say I am so thankful for this forum and for Christopher setting up and organizing the FE! Now that I have actually had time to read through every post, I am so glad that a B list has been created for us late comers. This is our first Disney Cruise and think this will take it to another level! I can't wait to start creating, I was up late last night browsing Pinterest and I am finding the coolest ideas!

Thanks Again!

Welcome to the board and very happy you found the group. The more the merrier. The FE exchange definitely makes an already fun cruise more fun. You are going to have a great time.

I absolutely love pinterest and have a board just for Disney crafts. There are so many cool ideas out there. I've been dying to post a pic of my gift for the exchange but I'm holding out cause I want it to be a surprise.

Stand by everyone! We just changed our reservation, so we'll be getting a new cabin number. As soon as I get it, I'll be sure to post it!

Its me again with more medicine questions. I was looking at the packing list on the Disney Planning Center Dashboard says your "medicines" have to go in your day bag in the original containers.

So do you pack all your over the counter stuff like Imodium, ibuprofen and such in your day pack/ carry on or in your suitcase?

Welcome to everyone else that has joined since I was last on!

Can't wait to meet everyone!

NO just your prescribed medicine is mainly what they are talking about that is in case you need to take it at a certain time and your luggage has not been delivered to your room yet also if your planning on taking anything like Bonine that would be in your carry on too

Is anyone planning on running in the Castaway Cay 5K?

Blair

We have thought about it several times but decided not to because we prefer to enjoy the island in the morning and the boat in the afternoon. Getting ready for the race, running the race, and then going back to your room to change takes up a couple of hours, hours that we would rather just sit on the beach ;). I know lots of runners enjoy it and maybe we will one day but this upcoming trip is just pure relaxation for us.

Anything essential, pack in your carry-on. I read a story a while back about someone whose luggage fell off the conveyor belt to the ship and didn't make it onboard. Anything important should always be carried on if possible, just in case something odd happens.

Yeah we too just pack the over the counter stuff in our checked luggage. Never had an issue.

Oh no! That would be terrible! So it feel in the water and they never retrieved it? Was that Disney? I could just imagine anything of my kids going in the water and it would be like the end of the world!:scared1: I guess we need to make sure the toys they want are in their bags.

We won't be participating in the 5k.

Looking all over to be added to the FE!! Thank goodness DD found it!! Not sure we are doing this right to get added!!

There are four of us in our cabin, me, DH, DD15, DS13. I suppose I will send you a PM to make sure I'm doing this right.

Welcome!

Yep pretty much doing it right. PM Christopher and I would suggest reading through this entire thread especially the very first post. It has been updated and has some good information and links for the FE.

Hi Christopher, just sent you a PM. our cabin number was changed so just letting you know. thank you! Laura

Oh my, 19 pages, and finally/B] done!!!

My kids have fervently been working on FE gifts! My DD is somewhat of a perfectionist, and growling at poor DS :-\ ...... my FE is finished, and I am very happy with the results!!

Our last cruise, almost five years ago, was booked 18 months (!!!) out! So this one, as a last minute booking (31 days) seems like a whirlwind! We feel lucky to be able to join your FE group! Thank you!

Also, my DD(15) is a bit on the shy side, anyone else have a DD close in age?

My DD is quirky and sweet. She <3, <3, <3s Dr. Who, Batman, Walking Dead, Lord of the Rings/Hobbit...she has purple hair & 1/2 shaved head.....(I know, shy right...?)

I have added the following message to our page description;

"PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A CLOSED GROUP FOR MEMBERS OF THE DIS BOARD MEET AND GREET FOR THIS GROUP. You will not be added if I can not verify you are in the DIS board meet and greet. If you are part of the group and have requested membership that has not been granted send me a message or a PM on the DIS board letting me know who you are."

Anyone familiar with how exactly the groups work? I can't figure out how to look at our page from the perspective of someone not in the group. So I am thinking anyone can see the description, just nothing else.

We have had 2 requests to join from people who I don't recognize. So if you requested and have not been approved, please send me a fb message with your DIS name or tell me on here or in pm. One I did send 2 messages to and have not herd back another I am not able to send a message to and ask who they are because of their security settings.

Am I one of those two people? I've never done anything on boards/threads before, so I'm not sure if I have gone through the correct process. I have not sent you anything, but I have emailed Christopher my info and I am now on the List B. Do I need to do anything else?

Thanks,
Blair

I don't believe so, unless you go by another name on Facebook. The Facebook group is something separate you have to request to join on the Facebook page.

If you would like to join us there too go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/365253410235094/ it isn't required, but you won't be automatically added because you joined here.
