December 9, 2007 4 night

Yes, I think it would be nice for most of us or ALL to meet.

I have two suggestions:

1.
I have a CAT 3 - Stateroom 8602 - aft and it is the large room under the Buffet on Deck 9.

2.
Or we can meet in the Promenade Lounge on Deck 3.

Both are easy to get to.

I would suggest about 3 p.m., (even 2:45 p.m. is good - as that is when everyone has finished their lunch and have already been to their room and waiting on the luggage.

It shouldn't last more than 20 or so minutes, just to see everyone and say "hi" so that when we see each other on the ship or outside on CC, we will know you are from our group.

It is always nice to say "Hi" to each other as we walk around.

That is before the fire drill and the sail away party.

I am willing to have it in my Stateroom, as it is very large and a huge balcony to boot. I was in the same room last year and had a large get together and it turned out very good.

If everyone wants to give me their input, that would good and we can see what each family prefers.

Kay - That sounds wonderful!!! I am fine with what everyone wants to do. We will be there!!! In a couple of weeks I will try to go back through the pages and get a master list of everyone still with us and post it. If everyone post where they want to meet and what time I will chart that too. This week is busy with Howards Nationals and going out of town...I will post how he does!!! Next week is out too. I will try to do it the first week of November. Can you believe it is November almost?

We are going to South Carolina and I am hoping the leaves are turning. The mountains should be very pretty this time of year.

Christies 12th birthday is Tuesday. That just breaks my heart. She is becoming a beatiful young woman if I do say so myself.

Have a good week everyone.

that would be very nice. It helps in letting us know how many families we might have.

Maybe the following list will let you know which ones are the cruisers or just lurkers: DIS name and total posts on this thread.

We have a little time to work on it.

This is an urgent message to let everyone know that yall have alot of catching up to do!!!!:lmao: I am still trying to figure out how Kay did that and fast. I will pm the ones I am not sure on. We know who the new ones are and some of the people early on that decided to change their dates.

Woo-Hoo - I'm game for a Dis meet. I'm definitely game to "meet" everyone that I've been chatting with for the past several months. Just let me know the time and what place we decide and we'll be there! :goodvibes

ha ha ha ------------

remember when going thru the list, kkprincess is my DD, Karen. Not an extra family.

I am off to a meeting w/the hospital. be back real soon.

Also, my DB is in surgery as I type this. He has 4 bulging disc in his neck and they are repairing them - the only thing that I cringe about is that they are going thru the front of his neck instead of the back of his neck. He should be out of surgery by Noon.

Kay - We will pray for your brothers speedy recovery.

I am wondering about PrincessDi. I hope her Mom is doing OK. It has been a while since she posted. I know she must be very busy with her Mom and family. If you "listening" ...we are thinking about you and praying for your Mom and family.

Hey to all

My DB is good. Out of surgery about 11 am and in recovery and then they had to control his pain. He is in his room and will probably go home tomorrow. I haven't talked to him yet, but my twin sisters were there and they kept in touch with me.

So you liked my break-down, did you?????????? I'll tell you how to do it, if you want. Just let me know.

ARE WE READY TO CRUISE YET???????????

My box sure is getting full---its a great feeling to be able to have most everything we need for our cruise!!! It also saves a ton of time the closer it gets. Can't wait, I am ready to suprise the kids, its been a long wait!

DM is doing better. She finishes up her last radiation tomorrow. They did an MRI last week and have unofficially determined that the tumor has reduced its size. She received this info from the radiologist but has not met with the Dr. yet. They will do another MRI in a month to see if the radiation is still successful. They were able to cut back on the steriods which has caused awful side affects, and she will also be on seisure meds for a year, which means she won't be able to drive. She has lost her hair and radiation and steriods have taken their toll on her body. Her spirits are good though and that is the best medicine for her right now.

Thanks for your prayers!!!

Can't wait to get on that big beautiful ship----I am ready!!!

PrincessDi - I am so glad to hear the "unofficial" news. Hope she gets an even better report from her Doctor. Hopefully she will get stronger everyday. It was good to hear back from you....I was a little worried. I cant wait to share our "suprise!!!!!!" stories when we get on the ship.:goodvibes

Happy Wednesday:

bumping us up a little - we don't want to forget each other even before we get onboard :rotfl2:

It seems like a Winnie the Pooh Wintery Blusterly Day in Ft. Lauderdale.

Actually sort of nice -

Hope everyone is having a great week

Anyone have girls or a girl around 9 or 10. My girls would love to have a friend for the cruise. When we go to the Poly, they always find someone to meet up with in the evening at the pool. Maybe ours can meet up in the Lab etc....

:goodvibes

Oh getting some green Mickeys and such to put on our door,.....everytime I go to Disney, I always put my Green mickey head in my lanyard, and nobody says anything, and...I have never met up with any Dis'ers. Maybe a cruise will be different.

If you invite people up to your room, they may not want to leave!:rotfl: Might even get a few people who would like to bunk there for the trip!:rotfl: Just make sure you know how to call security. :lmao: Really would like to get hooked up with some DISers at our dinner tables too. To bad we can't all sit together at one big table! Whatever happens, it will be nice to meet someone from the boards, in all my trips to Disney, never once have I had a meet. Not even a green Mickey head sighting. I'm starting to believe its a big urban myth:laughing: Lets keep in touch!

Hi All!

Sorry I haven't posted in FOREVER! I think this thread was about 5 pages the last time I looked at it and now it is on page 23! Wow, that's great. I will definitely have to go back and read up on what everyone has been doing to keep busy.
So....I so need this vacation!
My husband and I had moved in with his parents in May to care for his dad who had cancer. Well to make a long story short he passed away in August. Then his wife, (my MIL) had a stroke, got congestive heart failure, and she passed away this month. So my family has just been through the wringer with sadness lately. I am ready for some pixie dust and magic!
I am starting to make a disney pile in my closet of stuff to bring and I am starting to get my legs in shape for the parks. Getting excited!

lakefairy - I am so sorry. You have been through an awful lot in the past few months. We wil pray for your family. It sures like everyone is going to need the cruise.

On a lighter side of things Howard did wonderful at the nationals. He qualified for all three races and fished top ten in one. He won some tires for the next race. He got wrecked the other two but the most devastating was Sunday. He qualified sixth and had made it up to second place with three laps to go when a lap car wrecked in front of him and one of the cars hit Howard and bent his axle. It put him out of the race. The officials made such a wonderful speech while clearing the track and the last thing they said was "unfortunately for Howard Moore, the Corkys 23 Kart, from Memphis TN, going for the win at the Maxxis Nationals, is out of the race".....My heart dropped. Bless his heart, he had worked so hard. He quickly got over it but it took me a little longer.

My doctor called in sick the day for me to get my surgery. It may have been a blessing in disquise. I have had an ear infection in both ears and tonsilitis since Tuesday. I started running fever that night. They would have assumed that it would have been the surgery had it happened. My new Date is November 1, next Thursday. I am working on the meet list and will start pm'ing people the first of the week.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Oh yeah. With travelzoos deal I booked Atlantis. I spent the extra 40 dollars and got the royal towers to be closer to the water parks.

 Hi everyone. Have kept up with the thread, but haven't posted in a looong time.

Since this is my first Dis cruise, couldn't make any ressies until 75 days out. We had decided to skip Palo dinner so we wouldn't miss anything and just try for brunch. Logged on right at midnight, but no ressies available for brunch. So, will try on board. Also going to try to switch to early dining.

Would like to be included in the meet. Is it still going to be at 3:00 in Kay's room?

Thanks to tips on the board, I decided to make a ressie at Atlantis through Travelzoo. Be aware that the $129 rate is only for 2 adults. I ended up calling Atlantis, using the code. Needed a rate for 3 adults and 1- 4yr old. Got a Beach Tower room for $174. The day rate for a pass is $105 (I think) per adult so she said the $l74 was the cheapest way to go.

MoTM - Have kept up on all your son's racing. I think it's wonderful, and great that your whole family is so involved in it. Also, I think your kids are going to be absolutely overjoyed when they learn of your surprise. And last but not least - good luck with your surgery.

Kay - I am so jealous of all your cruising. I think I could live happily just going from cruise to cruise for the rest of my life. :cheer2:

Hello everyone:

I just got home from being on the WONDER for 7 days.

The SS DVC Member cruise and the 3 day B2B.

one word "FABULOUS"

I'll come back a little later tonight and post. Have to get everything unpacked.

Thanks GrannyJan!!!!
No more racing until the Tunica Nationals the day after Thanksgiving> Christie and I will go shopping until noon or one and then go down there. It will be a Friday and Saturday thing and then the guys will go hunting for a few days while Christie and I get ready for the Holidays. It is hard to get the tree up and gifts wrapped with the guys always wanting us to do something for them.

I am beginning to feel a little overwhelmed. Realizing that we will only have five weeks after my surgery. I have to secretly pack, put the finishing touches on our company Christmas party, wrap everything and shop for Williams customers and some vendors. I know everybody else has the same things but as you already know....I like for everything to be done NOW!!!!!!! PrincessDi...how are you going to pack without your children knowing? I am just worried about where to put the luggage.

Kay - I will work on the tally for the Dis meet and have it done by Wednesday.

I hope everyone is staying well. I also pray that our group doesnt experience anymore sadness before our trip. Looking back it has been a really rough couple of months for alot of the group. Many wishes that our cruise is wonderful for all of us.

Hi again everyone:

Whew, what a week I had -

we went on the 2007 SS DVC Member Cruise - it was fabulous - the entertainment was great.

I added on points on the cruise and one of the perks was a free cruise for the 2008 SS DVC Member Cruise for two in a CAT 6 outside verandah. So, I could not resist.

Now I don't have to sit on the phone on NOv. 17th and call in to try and get a stateroom.

I also booked the B2B and will stay on the ship for that whole week. It was loads of fun doing it that way. It was actually a better deal than paying for a 7 day cruise. Maybe not on all cruises, but this time it worked out that way.

Before our cruise, I will be leaving on Nov. 14th w/my 4 YO g/daughter. Her b/day is on T/giving and that is my present to her.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hopefully most everyone will join us in our room for our first "meet and greet".

Should be lots of fun.
