DECEMBER 6, 2009 Winter WONDERland sailing!!!

Welcome to FansoDisney!!! I just joined not to long ago either and am very excited as well! Glad to see that I am not the only late joiner!

Has anyone gone on a 4 day cruise before who could let me know what do they do onboard during Nassau for those who aren't getting off the ship? are there activities?

Thanks :)

We've stayed on the ship in Nassau - there aren't activities, actually, if I recall correctly.

But it's an excellent time to use the pool and spend time around the ship - it's terribly uncrowded...

Any reason you aren't getting off the ship?

Nassau just doesn't excite us as a port, we might get off just to get a few trinket souvinears but after hearing about the people being pickpocketed, robbed or worse on trips to Nassau just another reason we just aren't excited about the port. So since its only a 4 night cruise, we will use it as a bonus sea day and enjoy the pool and our verandah and the spa.

Most ships I've been on had plenty of activities to do on port days, because not everyone gets off the ship. I looked at my Navigators from our 4-day Wonder cruise in 2008, and activities on the ship were pretty sparse. There were some family activities, and the kids clubs had a full slate of activities, but the adult activities on Nassau and Castaway Cay days didn't get going until 2:00 (Nassau) or 3:30 (CC) in the afternoon. I went back to the ship after lunch on CC day and was bored. I'm not one to use pools or go to the spa, and I went to the 3:30 DVC presentation just for something to do!

I'm not sure what we'll do in Nassau - maybe go to Atlantis in the morning. I haven't seen most of the new Disney movies, so I may spend a lot of time in the theater this cruise.

Just enjoying a quiet pool would be good for us! So that should work out great!

I printed my doorsigns last night, got my photo mat and sharpie for them to use, and I started packing only about 40% more to pack!

9 Days 19 hours and some minutes until we go! whoohoo!

We'll fly to Orlando a week from today - yay! I'll think about packing early next week. My roommate Vicki made magnet decorations for the cabin door. I have no artistic ability, so I'm glad she is doing that.

Leaving in 2 days to start our land portion before the cruise! We're very excited. Just one more day of work to go.... :goodvibes

I have to work today and Tomorrow so I probably won't make it on here until Sunday! So for those leaving for WDW before their Cruise safe travels, have fun and see you on the ship!

Jason - I got your message but do not have enough posts to reply back yet. We are in Stateroom 1034 - we will be the first to know if there is a leak!! :scared1:

Tuesday eve is fine with us. Can't wait.

We've been on a 4 day before, but got off the boat in Nassau. We will be staying on board this time. We plan on going to the pool, checking out a movie, and plan something at the spa. They usually have specials on port days.

Hope everyone made it through Black Friday Shopping unscathed and we are now 8 days away from the Cruise!

I work another 10 hours today but get tomorrow off to work on some Pre Cruise errands. Then I'll finish packing on Wednesday.

So its flying by for us here!

How did it go.. I did not even attempt it...:confused3

Well I thought things were alot better than last time. We were here in New Jersey two years ago and the lines were terrible. We were able to go out for 3:30 and back home by 7:00 with everything I wanted. There were no lines except for people waiting for the big ticket items which I didn't need. Besides, I couldn't buy too much as we are driving to Florida from here and have all our "stuff" for our Disney trip. But, it was fun!!:)

Nice:goodvibes

I have to work Mon-Wed, 11a-11p, before we catch our 7am flight on Thursday :scared1:

But then a week of vacation!!:cheer2:

We leave Tuesday afternoon. :cool1: I haven't even started packing yet!!!.

I'll fly to Orlando on the 3rd, so guess I'll start packing on Dec. 1st!

Remember - DIS MEET Sunday at 3:00 in the Promenade Lounge!

Another naive question from the disboards newbies...This is our first involvement in the FE - how many gifts do we need - 1 per cabin or 1 per person in each cabin?

Also, any guidence on what is an acceptable gift or any direction on how much to spend on each gift? Any information would be appreciated.

Bob

We are new to this, we got our items and plan 2 items per cabin. As 1 item can be enjoyed by each person in the cabin, and the other was just as an extra just because we couldn't pass them up item but couldn't only get enough for 1 per cabin.

6 days 15 hours to go!
