December 2024 Check In Thread

Oh, LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! Wow, you did it GOOD, girl!!! I adore that work shirt!

I really have to start figuring out what to wear this year. I may have to settle for what I already have, though I've got an idea for what my sister and I might wear for our annual picture with Santa at GCH!
Oh thanks girl! Remember the pic of you and your sis with Santa..I think you had PJs on and cocoa? Am I remembering correctly? I wanna try and talk my BFF who always goes with me at Christmas to do something like that . It would make such a cute shot.

But she probably wouldn’t do it cuz we’d have to go back to CCI and change again, whereas you just have to go back to your room. Someday maybe…sigh.

Yep! We had PJs and cocoa mugs one year, and elf dresses a couple of times, and T-shirts once that said "Dear Santa, My Sister Did It" and the other said "Dear Santa, My Sister Lies" lol. I don't think we did outfits before that but I may have missed one :)

You could always get a locker and change!

Oh, that’s a great idea…never crossed my mind, thanks. I love all your t-shirts, too…you must be closeasthis. I think you also had your hair in pigtails in the pic I saw…was so cute.

We do have matching spirit jerseys from last year so maybe we’ll wear those…

Great idea! You can either order ears to match or make your own. Dollar stores are good sources of materials--they often have headbands in holiday themes and it's easy to add ears. I often make ours and it's really simple, but you can also get them inexpensively on sites I'm not sure I can mention here, but you probably can figure it out.

There are many very knowledgeable and experienced people on this forum who are eager to help. You might want to start a thread with your specific questions.

Take a look at some of the recent "WDW vet, first time DLR visitor" threads as a starting point.

We've got December 3-5 booked! I wanted to go right after Thanksgiving this year, too, since the second week in December (the one we USUALLY go during) has been getting more and more crowded. Of course, Tiana's ride could throw a big wrench into our plans... oh well!

My daughter and I will be back at Disneyland the week of Dec 8th-14th. We're super excited to celebrate her birthday and experience everything Christmas before it gets too busy.

Which DVC and which size room? Since it's well within the 7 month window, you can check the availability of accessible rooms. I often find them available if you're flexible on view and set up. I have stayed in hearing accessible and we didn't notice a difference.

grand Californian, waitlisted for a deluxe studio. its only 2 adults and 1 child so we don't need anything large

Yes we are there that first week after Thanksgiving too. I was hoping Tiana's would open up early in November so the hype would have died down by our visit. Maybe there will be some soft openings early that will help. Just really hoping that the crowds stay true to previous years trends where kids are back at school so the crowds will be lower, at least during the week. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Aloha,
We have been to DL and DW many many times.
My biggest tip and this is just my opinion, is get the park hopper, Disneyland is so easy to park hop.
Also if you have time I would go to the Blue Bayou Restaurant it is located inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Also in New Orleans square is the Mickey shaped beignets The small world is stunning at Christmas time. A few years ago we did the Holiday Tour it was great, if you have Chase Disney card you do get a discount.

I would love to go to the Blue Bayou Restaurant but there is just nothing my adult autistic daughter would enjoy on the menu. She is allergic to seafood and everything else is too fussy for her. Oh well hopefully we will get to ride Pirates a few times and that will make up for it. On our last trip Pirates was closed so I am really keeping my fingers crossed that this time it will be open.

Have you looked at the kids menu for your daughter? Hopefully you can ride Pirates this time.

Can adults order off the childrens menu?
Absolutely. I am a Mom just like you my daughter is 37 and is cognitively disabled. I am surprising her with a trip to Disneyland the week of Christmas. She will be so excited when we pull up to the park, I see her crying with joy, she loves those youtube videos when parents surprise there kids with a trip to Disney,

I've never done it, but others have reported bringing kids meals from other restaurants into Blue Bayou.

Hello to all! We will be at the DLR Dec. 18-21. The holidays are my absolute favorite time at the parks, and I can't wait for all of the wonderful holiday decor and delicious food!!! We will also be dining at 21 Royal on the 21st, and as always, I'm super excited to see the amazing menu Chef Sutton and Chef Gloria will come up with!😊🎄✨🏰✨🎄
