December 2024 Check In Thread

Is Storyteller's open on Christmas Eve? It's weird that there aren't any times available Christmas Eve or Christmas Day for Storyteller's or Goofy's. Plenty of availability in the days before and after.

I'm hoping to book breakfast before driving home and the pajama party looks so cute!
Reservations are open for those days now.

I don't know, but on the last weekend of WOC One they were still serving treats from Disney 100 which was over a year ago. I hope they updated the desserts.
That would make sense since WoC One was the 100th version of WoC.

We are planning to do the World of Color dessert party and we haven't done it before. If anyone has done this before can you comment if it's worth it?

As far as I can tell, almost everyone who has posted about it really liked it. It's very nice to have a table to sit at while you watch the show and various treats and beverages brought to you by the CMs. If you've not done it before I'd definitely recommend it.

I went last year with my sister. It was our first time doing the WOC party and we enjoyed it very much. However, I probably won't do it again as I didn't feel the food/beverage part would make the price worthwhile. I think most people like it, but there was almost nothing aside from grapes and cheese that appealed to me (lots of food coloring, sugar, and low-quality treats IMO). Now, it may be that they change the offerings from one time to another. Anyway, it was fun and I'm glad we did it!

I would start by figuring out your budget. Look at transportation and accommodations first. For tickets, I would budget for park hoppers and probably LLMP. After that, see what you have left for entertainment and dining. There are lots of budget friendly options for entertainment and dining at DLR and there are some that are more of a splurge.

Personally, I consider WOC dessert party a splurge and would value park hoppers and LLMP over the dessert party. Personally, if I had to choose, I would go with a Fantasmic dining package over the WOC dessert party.

Thanks for the info on this!

We've seen the show before, and was sort of thinking this would be a nice place to sit and enjoy it. The treats are a part of it, but maybe that's not our main thing here.

We did it last December for the first time and really enjoyed it! Having a seat and not having to wait forever was amazing. The h9oliday treats were fun too! It was freezing cold but we enjoyed it. We are doing it again this year!

Im doing it this year just for the seat/view. Dont care about the food. Its just nice to be casual and relaxed to enjoy the show, i'm not a person who handles crowds well.

The food offerings is what puts me off too, as there really isn't anything that we would enjoy that much. We have decided to have a dinner buffet at Storytellers Cafe instead and get the WOC reserved viewing area offer. They have a lot more food that we will like. Also my big splurge this holiday is a Princess Breakfast for my adult daughter at Napa Rose so that well and truly blows the budget. :rotfl2:

Oh, that sounds like a great idea!! I may do that next time :)

We’ve done it a few times with the most recent being 2 weeks ago. Most the desserts were good, but the real appeal is in the reserved seating with a great view. Invaluable!

We did it last year (and have seen WoC many times over the years). I think it’s worth it if you want a place to sit and a good view without having to worry about someone tall in front you (or hoisting their child up onto their shoulders). I think it’s best to think of the desserts and beverages as a nice bonus but not really what you are spending you $89 for, although it might have more value to someone who drinks alcohol. Also, if you are a party of 2 you I’ll be seated without another try of 2, which worked out okay for us but still lapsed into the awkward at times since we had an hour to hang out with them before the show started.

It was a one and done for us, we’d rather just do the VQ and spend the money other ways.

Worth is very subjective. Do I recommend it, yes I do.

For me/us we aren't doing it for the desserts or drinks we are doing it for the actually seat. Neither mom nor I can stand for extended periods of time. So without the dessert party we wouldn't be able to watch WoC or Fantasmic.

I did it way back in 2016 and at that time they gave each group their own basket of breads, which was really nice. With the grapes and cheeses I considered it my evening meal, after having a larger lunch at Carthay Circle. Now I am not sure one could make it a small meal, as you only get a couple small packages of crackers.

Yet another example of Disney pushing people with disabilities / stamina difficulties into paying for accessibility

I think I found the answer for this, but please assure me it's correct, the parks no longer close due to capacity since the implementation of the reservation system? We are coming the week between Christmas & New Years and I want to be sure that if we leave the parks for a mid-day break, we can still get back in later in the afternoon/evening with our park reservation.
