December 2021

Hi! I’m also new to this Disney Board. I’m booked for December 26-January 4th. I have always wanted to visit at Christmas time. I heard it’s the best time to be there. Christmas is my favorite holiday so I know Disney will make it feel magical. I’m excited about celebrating NYE in Disney World too. I hope the fireworks will be back. I did not know about the 50th anniversary until after I booked. I hope they have lots of parades and events. I have a dog, so I booked an air b&b nearby instead of a hotel room.

I reserved a spot at Epcot for NYE. I will not be traveling with children, so I thought maybe Epcot would have more of an adult vibe? I reserved MK for the 30th to experience whatever they are doing to celebrate on that day. Looking forward to celebrating Christmas and, NYE, and 2022 in DW!
Those are great dates 😉 I am booked for December 27th - January 4th and also booked park passes for MK on the 30th and EPCOT on the 31st. I am particularly excited about EPCOT on the 31st - despite the crowds 😉

Also got MK for 30th and EPCOT for 31st (staying at the swan those two nights. Will be my DD first legal NYE so we are excited and happy we can just walk back to our resort in NYE instead of dealing with bus.

Spending Christmas Eve in MK and Christmas Day at Epcot. Know they will be busy, but want to experience as much holiday magic as we can.

I just started reading with original first post and amazed to know booking goes beyond the 11 month window ....
So cash res offers a year in advance or even more recommendations?
No wonder Disney doesn’t have to discount , trending not necessary incentive for Disney!

I’m excited about Epcot on the 31st too. I read somewhere that DJ’s play music in the different countries and you can dance all night before the fireworks.
I read that too! And they seem to have a silent dance party as well. At least they used to have it. Let‘s see what they will bring back for this holiday season :)

The 11 month window is for cash bookings at DVC resorts. Regular resort package bookings open whenever Disney chooses to release them (usually mid-summer of the year before, though last year it was delayed like everything else). So I was able to book my package at Pop on October 15th when Disney released 2021 packages, but I had to wait until 11 months before my check-out date to switch the package from Pop to Beach Club Villas

So excited to check in here! We had to cancel our December 2020 trip, so we haven't been to WDW since December 2019. We have never gone longer than a year between trips since we started going in 2012. I miss my happy place! We'll be there 12/8-12/14 at Pop Century, me, DH and DS (17). Last trip before DS turns 18! Where did the time go?! Park reservations made, now to plan dining.

I haven't been since December of 2019 either, and I am in serious withdrawal! We had a trip scheduled for April of 2020 that was obviously canceled.

Finally booked a trip for November 30 - December 8th, am so exited as it's my favorite time of year to go to WDW.

I currently have a reservation at Coronado, but am hoping that AKL will open back up as that's my favorite place to stay. I'm okay with CSR though, I've stayed there twice (pre tower) and really liked it. Still need to get my tickets, and can't reserve my plane tickets until June when SW opens the rest of the schedule for 2020. The only good thing about having to cancel last year is that my plane tickets should be paid for already with the credits I've got on account.

I'm also anxiously awaiting Southwest to release fares. I hope they're reasonable. Otherwise we will have to drive (12 hours for us).

Kind of got lucky when we cancelled our December 2020 Southwest flights. They had just changed their policy to filling middle seats, and sent an email that if you are uncomfortable with that, you could cancel for an actual refund. I wasn't uncomfortable, but took advantage. LOL

We're also waiting for Southwest to release December flights, and hoping for at least semi-decent deals... although for us it's worth it to pay a little extra for the non-stop flights instead of having long layovers, cause I'm just not a patient girl when i'm ready to get my vacation started! LOL

Same here, it's a 3 hour flight from CT, I'm not spending 8 hours with a layover somewhere, I'll pay extra for non stop.

Joining in! We are booked December 11th to the 18th at OKW , and December 18th to the 22nd at Universal staying at Royal Pacific. It will be myself, my husband and my ds17 at Disney. My dd24 and her fiancé will join us for the Universal portion. Our last trip was October 2019.

We are Canadian and currently still under heavy restrictions and only partially vaccinated. For this trip to happen our border would need to open, we would need to be fully vaccinated and no quarantine required. I am hopeful that all these things will be a reality by December and we will celebrate and have an amazing holiday trip.

If we are still unable to go in December I made sure everything was fully refundable and we would push the trip into 2022.
Planning this trip after this beast of a year is keeping my spirits up and we are so excited !

Us too. MK for Christmas Eve and Epcot for Christmas day. However, we are heading home before New years. :) Still very excited. We haven't been to Disney in 8 years.

I'm so excited to find this thread! We are booked for our first Disney Christmas trip. I asked my daughter how she wants to celebrate her 18th birthday next month and she said all she wants is to go to Disney for Christmas. We are staying at the Swan December 22-29 so we will miss New Year's Eve but I am really looking forward to all the decorations and treats.

My DDs turn 18 in November. We are planning to celebrate that, and it being their senior year. My daughter Madison wants to get Mickey graduation ears, and not via the internet. :)

I just showed your post to my daughter and she hadn’t thought about that! She said her senior portrait can be with Mickey ears in front of the castle.
