I got a Target red card a few weeks ago, which saves me 5% off my purchases. It is an automatic debit card, straight from my checking account. I saw on the Dis that you can use the card to save 5% on gift cards. I gave it a shot today, and it worked! It doesn't sound like much, but we have to pay for the dining plan and pay to upgrade to our APs, so we still have about $1100 to pay for our summer trip. Next, we'll have the DP to pay for for our Christmas trip. I figure I can get my gift cards through Target first, then save $100 for the 2 trips. Hope this helps someone else!

I was looking at getting one, but the rules + regulations on Target's site says that gift cards are excluded. Did you need to do anything special to get the 5% discount?

EDIT: Nevermind, rereading, I think they are excluding the purchase of Target Gift Cards.

Yes, it does excluse Target gift cards. We had no problem buying our Disney gift cards at a 5% discount

Whew! I was going to post when I got through reading all the pages but I'm only up to page 93 and I can't wait any more...

We will be arriving Dec 9th at the Beach Club. We'll be there for the week and it will be our 3rd December trip. This year we booked a FWCG carriage ride and we are going to do stand by for the Candle light Processional.

Our dining ressies are:
Dinner:Kona Cafe, Flying Fish
Lunch: Le Cellier, 50's Prime Time, Biergarten
Breakfast: Crystal Palace
... and we plan on dropping in on the Captain's Grille unannounced for a breakfast and a dinner TBD later.

Of special note is the fact that we are actually flying in on Saturday Dec. 8th for one night before transferring over to the BC. Right now we are booked at Pop for one night but my not so secret plan is to hope for some good AP discounts and rebook at our favorite Mod POFQ so we can do Downtown Disney and see Yee Ha Bob over at POR. I just love the boats at POFQ!

I have to say I'm loving this thread and all the helpful info and friendly people. A lot of the questions I had have already been asked and answered! Thanks for all the help and keep up the good work!

First Disney Christmas. Dec. 10-15 @ PoP.

So, remember I was saying last week how the CM told me to drop my Park Hoppers and if I wanted to hop, just upgrade my base ticket for one extra day for $10 instead and enter another park on the same day with that?

Well, I emailed Guest Services telling them I was concerned about how many others she was telling that is-info and that they should be aware. That was it, wasn't expecting anything more.

They called me today. Asked if I would like the PH added back at no charge. I politely declined as my schedule doesn't really require hopping but thanked them very much. She then went on to say I should now consider her as my own private travel agent and any questions, changes etc to call her directly and she would take care of my needs. Lastly she added that she noticed we were celebrating my parents 42nd wedding anniversary so she would personally see to it that something special was waiting for them in their room when we arrived.

I thought that was nice
