I agree I would cook too!! What kind of room do you have? Maybe we can give OP suggestions for things to make/bring?? Heck, If I decide on a car I was even thinking of running to EOS a few time to cut a sub in half for lunch(for our cooler), and just beefing it up with home brought snacks!

I am the OP for this; we have a one bedroom at SSR so we have a full kitchen (DVC). I would love some ideas we won't have a car so I am going to have to order from somebody (suggestions please). I don't mind cooking but I am always so tired after being in the parks all day, so I want easy to fix and even easier to clean up.

Let me help you on this one - I am the master of quick meals (don't laugh, I cook from fresh every night .... long story but I don't trust what they put in our foods now, if there are words I cannot pronounce on the ingredients list I ain't eating it :rotfl:)

What type of eaters are you? Picky? Are there meats you don't like? Do you like spices or not? Is a crock pot an option?

Hello everybody. Today I decided after talking with my husband to book a vacation package and go to Walt Disney world in December. We will be there from December 10-15. This is our first time ever at Disney. We have two boys(don't judge lol) but have decided to make this an adults vacation. Don't make me feel too bad they would not remember a thing they are 18 months, and 1 month. I feel old going to Disney at 24, when reading these threads and many have been there 20 times or more by my age. We wanted to do the romantic thing so any suggestion about where to eat or must see things or special extras that are not advertised as much. I am feeling very happy, and excited. I am a huge fan of the movies, and I adore absolutely adore Christmas so this should be a blast.

Welcome :woohoo:

Don't feel bad - you are absolutely right, the babies won't remember it and Disney can be difficult with very little ones. I think its wonderful that you and hubby are having special time together ...... IN DISNEY AT CHRISTMAS :dance3:

ATTENTION SOUTHWEST PASSENGERS

They are having a sale right now! I just checked our flights and got a $140.00 credit!

It was so simple. If you find your flights have a reduced price go onto the homepage and in the top right corner click change flights...it is really that easy!

When I change my flights, do I receive the credit for the lower priced airfare on the credit card I used to book it, or is it a Southwest credit for a future flight??? I can't find that info on their website!

Southwest usually does credit with them towards a future flight. I think you have a year to use it.

You get a credit for future flight. But I'll take it!!!

I think its our first payment toward Disney 2013! :)

semi picky eaters two kids ages 5 and 7. There really is not a meat that we don't like (but we usually stick to the basics). If you don't cook with spices you aren't cooking. Yes a crock pot is an option I am thinking of bring one and leaving it in our owners locker.

Congrats! Unfortunately for us, we don't see too many discounts. Right now from Islip, NY to MCO it's $142 each way. The $69 rate is few and far between as far as cities go.

Almost took an Act of Congress to get everyone's schedules in sync but we're a GO for a 12/13 - 12/20 Disney vacation! Woo Hoo! Me (Grandma), DS#1 (29), DIL (24), DS#2 (also 29), DD (27), DD's beau and my beautiful Grandson (3) will be there! Free Dining tipped the scales and we're staying onsite! December can't get here fast enough!!

No judgement here.....we're going without kids too......but ours are all older, lol....and we're *50*. Well, I just turned 50 and this is a birthday/anniversary trip for us! We took 4 kids with us in 2004 and hubby said then, "we're coming back WITHOUT the kids next time"! So, here we are 8 years later finally returning. We'll be there the same time you guys will. You will be very spoiled by Disney in December. It's beautiful and very magical. Incidently, my oldest two kids are 15 months apart (I see yours are 17 months apart). That first year with two that close were a blur.....trust me, it gets better/easier AND your kids will be best friends all throughout life :)

Back to "romantic".......we're eating at California Grill, O'Hanas, Kona Cafe for breakfast, Tutto Italia, and the Princess Breakfast at Norway ;) That one is for me! Where are you staying?

THANK YOU!

I just rebooked and was refunded over 5,000 RR points. That's spectacular.

Thanks again!!!

Awesome news!!!! A few days ago I decided I would casually apply to a new position they are creating in my company....and I got it! They called me today and offered me the full time job for more than I asked for! YAY! I haven't worked full time since DD was born. So this is a huge change in our day to day life and our bank account! Hooray for that last bit! The benefits are great. 2 weeks paid vacation, plus a holiday shut down at the end of the year (paid). Plus a year end bonus. Great healthcare at 50% less than the price we pay now through DH. I am just :worship:

one thing.... i'm not sure if i will have enough days accrued to go on this Disney trip now! I would hate to have to skip the christmas magic! And then if I have to push it back...i still have my MVMCP tickets. Blagh. I really wanna go in december!!! Waaaahhhhh.

:woohoo: I just rebooked my outbound Southwest flight and saved 2160 points! Checked the return flight going home and its gone up $80 per person even with the sale, so I'm glad I nabbed that one on day one.

Congratulations! How long is your holiday shut-down? Is there any chance you could go then? You'd still be out the money for the party tickets, but you'd still be there for the Christmas decorations!

I was wondering how so many people don't get there selected reservations for the restaurants, I still have not planned what park to go to on which day. But I got scared after reading so many posts on people being disappointed because their restaurant of chose was booked. I went to wdw website and put in dinner times for the most popular restaurants and got a time for a table with all of them. Am I missing something?

Congrats on getting your times!

I dunno, I called when my 180 day window opened and got all my choices at my times. Maybe its to do with the times people typically like to eat - and yours and mine aren't typical :confused3 What ones did you book :)
