Hi -- joining in on this thread. We are booked for Dec 8th (DHs bday) to Dec 15th at AoA in a Cars suite. This trip will be me, DH, DS4, DD3 and my mother!! We are super excited for this trip!!!

I will be doing Mickeys Backyard BBQ for the first time it looks like a lot of fun, and then after we will do the sleigh rides, it takes you around fort wilderness and see all the decorations i seen some clips from youtube it looks so much fun!

I went to youtube and it looked amazing!! I then went to check the details on how many can ride at one time. It is four adults or two adults & three small children. I called recreation and he referred me to Ft. Wilderness directly b/c I was wondering if it could be four adults and my two kids who would have just turned 4 & 3, sitting on our laps. The lady at FW told me no. Since we all can't ride together, I won't do it this trip. Hope you don't run into this same problem!! I'm soooooo bummed!

So excited that we were able to get a bounce back and go back to the YC on December 12-16th and we are attending MVMCP on 12/13/12 :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see all of the resorts and parks decorated ;)

Can anyone suggest any particular restaurants to celebrate DS's 8th birthday? Is there one that you found really fun for kids?

Lots of good options given so far!

We've been to Garden Grill, and really enjoyed it! Great character interaction. :thumbsup2

And T-Rex at DTD. Like Rainforest Cafe', but with dinosaurs!

Or what about the Japanese grill Teppan Edo in World Showcase? Totally depends on his level of interest, but some little guys really dig the up-close show with the knife work and flame ups right in front of them! Especially if they've never been to one of these before. :hyper:

200 day mark... :cool1:

Not only is it a landmark number, it also means less than T-3 weeks til my ADR day :hourglass .

Roll is up to date, and BDL, I added the link. Thanks!!

Sorry the roll call was out of date for a couple days! hehe. My family and I drove across the Everglades to enjoy a few beautiful days in Naples, FL. For those of you who visit FL, but all you see is Disney, try heading south. Lots of beautiful places to visit in this state. :beach:

Checked ours. We're at 193 days. 2 weeks til our ADR window. And still don't have a clue. :confused3

I can relate T_M. I just posted this on my PTR. Now I have to play the waiting game from the in-laws to see what to add, what to drop and when to eat where.

200 days til our trip. And 3 weeks til our ADR window opens. So far this is what I have and am waiting on the in-laws for some feed back (yeah... right).

gahh so ive been spazzing everyday about park calendars so we can make our ADR's and plan our park days :( we dont have a park hopper so its critical to plan each day according to fireworks schedules and parades and whatnot and i'm just anxious waiting -- anyone else in the same boat?

Do you mean you are anxious waiting for Park/parade/fireworks hours? Or waiting to make ADRs?

The hours have been out since May 14th, and I have been busy planning and changing my mind, and planning and changing my mind....

I am anxious about making ADRs, we are going to be on vacation on my 180 day, But I love the planning, too!

We are heading to my in-laws' this weekend. Besides seeing our brand-new baby niece (who will be 6 months old when we embark to Disney!), I need to get everyone's opinions on park plans and ADR's. I've printed out some menus to show them, and I've organized my Disney planning binder so I can take that up there with me.

Besides Tusker House on Saturday and CRT on Sunday, I'm thinking of doing Candlelight Processional dinner package (hopefully) on Monday, maybe at Via Napoli for lunch. Tuesday is IoA day. Wednesday I'm thinking Sci-Fi for lunch, but I printed out a menu for the Brewery place on the Boardwalk just in case (but the kids are really excited about Sci-Fi!). Thursday and Friday will probably just be counter service unless we decide to do CP on Thursday instead of Monday.

Heading to POR Royal Rooms on 12/20-29/12. First time at Disney during Christmas and I cannot wait to get there!

I love planning the trip and the surprise "unveil" for my daughter! We've got tickets for MVMCP on 12/21 and I am just generally looking forward to everything! Even with the crowds that I know are going to be there with us :).

So, who else is sitting in front of their computers working on a spreadsheet for their vacation now that hours are out? I was comparing the same week to what Josh had re: park recs during 2011. Most of the hours and EMH are all the same as last year. Only difference is that MVMCP is now on Thurs.

My spreadsheet looks so colorful. If only I devoted such effort to other aspects of my life! :lmao:

I am SOOO there with you!! :) Spreadsheets, pages and pages of information, more tables, budgets, itinerary...people say I'm obsessive...I say no I'm not, I'm going to Disney at Christmas - you HAVE to plan it out! :)

I'm so excited to have found this thread! :thumbsup2

My family and extended family (nine people total) will be heading to Kidani Village on December 2nd! We're sooooo excited!!:cool1: We'll be staying in the two bedroom villa w/ savannah view.

My kids and I went last year from Dec 25 - Jan 1 and had THE BEST TIME! It was just amazing, sooooo, we're heading back for more Disney December magic; I just cannot imagine a trip to Disney without those gorgeous decorations!:stitch2:

BDL, I have been meaning to ask You about Boatwrights.

We are having one day without ADR's so that we are not tied to anything. It will be an EPCOT day so I know there are lots of CS choices there BUT, if by chance we decide to head back to our resort, POFQ, I was wondering what are the chances of us being able to walk in and get a table at Boatwrights???

It sounds really nice. It would be great to have a late-ish dinner and relax before going to bed.

I love the food at Boatwright's. As I've told anyone that will listen, the crawfish bites are an amazing appetizer. I've also discovered that it has never been full when I eaten there (never stayed at POR in summer or during school breaks so can't testify to those times). The prime rib and tenderloin medallions are great. And the desserts are the epitome of sweetness.

Also, having River Roost right next door is pretty good for 2 reasons. It is probably THE most under-rated place to have a casual drink, kick back and decompress after a long day at the parks. The perfect place to sit and wait til your ADR time. Also, while you are eating, on select night, you'll be able to hear Yee Haw Bob.

We stayed at POR on our last trip Dec 2010. We ate at Boatwrights one night. Walked right in. Food was excellent.
