**December 2012 Roll Call** Holidays, FLE Opening & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

Dh and I are surprising our 3 kids as well who will be 10,6 & 3. We fly in on the 22nd and are leaving on the 5th. Unfortunately staying offsite but that will satisfy my husband's need for space and escape from Disney! (Also helps our budget since airfare is crazy) I cannot wait, I have always wanted to see WDW at Christmas!

Update: Port Orleans Riverside 12/7-12/13


Please update my dates in the 1st post. I finally got potential dates. Not officially booked yet because there will be a group of us and we need a consensus, pencil us in for the Port Orleans Riverside 12/7-12/13. We will probably fly into Orlando on 12/6 and stay at a Days Inn or something. That way we can get our legs under us, get a good night sleep and be able to make the most of our 1st full day at WDW and save money by staying at an offsite motel and taking a mid-week flight (more like comes out as a wash + the rest time, but you get the idea).

Can't wait and others in the party are already starting to get antsy. It's gonna be a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG 9 mos and we may be adding to the merry (Christmas) band. But for Disney in Decemeber, it'll be worth it.

I know what you mean. I planned and booked a trip as a gift for my fiance'. It is brutal. The wait... The anticipation... The sneaking around and covering your tracks so that there are no clues. But when you finally present them the gift, it's all worth it.

Just make sure that you BIL and SIL don't tell their kids. Little boys can't keep a secret to save their lives. It gets us ready for speaking without thinking as we get older.

You even need to be careful about who you tell outside the family too! I planned our first WDW trip secretly from our kids and kept it (miraculously) secret and then 2 days before we left, we saw a friend in the store who shouted, "Enjoy Disney World!" as she walked by!! Luckily, my kids weren't listening but it was a close call!

Soooooo, last week I swore I saw a "deal" online for December with some room discounts. BUT, when I called Disney last night the CM practically laughed at me, and said "Oh no, its way to soon for December discounts"

I guess I’m ok with that, as long as I book before the 180 ADR time it'll be ok... but I really wanna be able to secure something soon. Did any of my fellow Dis’ers secure a discount for December?

I haven't seen any discounts for December yet. I'm sure there will be some good ones! Every year that we have gone in early December, we have used Free Dining.

We won't be using it this year (if they make it available again) since we're renting DVC points, but I'll keep my fingers crossed that they release it!

Well thanks I think the DH just wants a good room rate, he thinks WDW gets to "busy" when they do the free dining. But I defiantly don't think that FD would stop us from going...

We have a room discount for December, but it's through a PIN, not a public offer. I have fingers crossed for free dining too!

I never even thought of that.. I've been sure to make sure everyone knows that it's a secret so no one says ANYTHING!!! Hopefully if my nephews say anything about going I'll just tell my son we can't afford it.. He keeps asking me if we can go (mind you we were just there last febuary but he acts like he's never been there). Here's to months of sneaky planning

I think that's just an illustration of regular price during that time of the year. They give timeframes because the prices are different in different "seasons".

Thank you for telling me about this!! I am so excited!! We are going December 2nd to the 8th. As of now staying at the art of animation. But if my dad doesn't come with us that will be changing. I have been to Disney twice in December and once over thanksgiving and I just love going at Christmas time. Our son will be 2 in September so I'm most looking forward to him seeing everything for the first time!!!
