I was going by what they had at Touringplans. It is just a projected date

It will just be adults this trip. I'm going with my sister and sister-in-law :dance3:

Officially booked this morning. December 7-10 at the Poly with a TPV.

Then you guys will definitely have fun. Enjoy the short lines and take advantage of the 2nd parade. The crowds are thinner then because the kiddies fade after the 1st parade

This will be our first trip to Disney as DVC members, our first trip at Christmas time and our second trip to WDW over all (first was just last week in Feb 2012!)

Booked 12/15-27 at the AKV-kadani with a savannah view! Bringing my 4yo son and Nana! Hope to get lots of pointers from this thread and these boards. Already got a few ideas from the DVC board.

Where is a great place for meals on Christmas Eve and Day? Think we'd prefer character stuff but throw all ideas out there. Also need to learn about the special Christmas tickets??? Are they everyday?

Thanks for restarting the thread! I'm already on the list for POR dec 10th. I hadn't been watching the boards for awhile then someone mentioned free dining so I came to check it out. Seeing the free dining thru Sept gives me hope that in a few months it will be offered again in Dec. :cool1::cool1:

Fun thread!

I LOVE Disney in December!!

We will be there 12/15/12 - 12/22/12, staying at our favorite, POFQ.

This will be our third December trip. We've also gone in October, but I just love the decorations around Christmas time.

We have gotten free dining the past two December trips (and they were both around the same time frame, actually a day or two later usually), so my fingers are crossed it's available again. We FINALLY got a PIN offered to us for this December (hotel discount), so we went ahead and booked, but FD would be better if that shows back up.

I'm MOST excited about seeing the new Fantasyland!!!

Welcome!! We are going the same dates as you with our (then) 26m old, staying at BCV. DD's first trip so I am beyond excited!! To pass the time, I've been working on a PTR.

I think we are going to skip MVMCP and do that when she's older and can stay up later. If Wishes is at 8pm (like last year), we will do the Wishes dessert party.

Awww Yay that is exciting!! I am working on my TR from our DD first trip. I will check out your PTR and maybe we will run into each other. :goodvibes

While checking out the crowd predictor, I noticed that the crowds at the MK are going to be at a 9. Overall, crowds are only a 6 that day. Am I to assume that the parade taping is that day?

*nevermind. It appears that is just the way Saturday's are in December. MK just gets crazy busy.

Sashafarce and I are planning to go December 14-December 21 and staying off site.

So excited to be going 12/9-12/14!!!! This is our second family trip. Our first trip for our 2year old!

Hi all! :flower3:

I am planning our family's first trip to WDW and am so *ridiculously* excited

The trip will be a surprise for the kids. We are flying out at 8:35am on Christmas morning after a huge announcement :thumbsup2 We will be there 8 full days, flying out Jan 3rd. We are staying off-site, partially to save a little money and partially for flexibility with regard to food prep, so we are able to best tend to my son's health condition.

I am excited to see the pre-trip threads going up....I have no idea what they entail, but given all of the spreadsheets and projects I have on the go already, it can only help :lmao:

See you all around :cool1:

Just Booked!!! YAY!!! DH and I will be checking in to POR on 11/26 and staying until 12/5. We will be in one of the new royal rooms :lovestruc This trip will be DH first trip. We will also be celebrating my birthday and our anniversary. Very, very excited!!!:cheer2:

You currently have me on the list for Dec 20, I added 2 more days to the beginning of the trip last month (in hopes of catching the last MVMCP), so our new dates are Dec 18-27 @ BW :santa:

I got a room only pin so I switched my days a little. I'm down for arriving on the 22. Now my new dates are: Dec. 14 - 26.

Roll Call is CURRENT!!! YAY!

Awesome! That sounds like an awesome trip. I see you live in CC. We got married at an inn in Falmouth. I used to live in the Boston area before moving to South Florida.

WOW, 8 pages for December already.

I haven't booked yet,,, BUT the soon to be DH and I are seriously considering a December trip, probably the 9th thru the 15th. I think we've also decided to drive this time... Not for expense reasons, but for experience reasons. I think it would be nice to pack what ever I wanna pack, and not have to worry about weight restrictions and bag fee's and electronics getting broken.

I'll keep ya'll posted on the status of the reservation, we'll probably call this weekend. :thumbsup2

We always drive and we love traveling to disney by car (it's a close to 12 hour drive for us). This past year we had no choice because we were heading on to family for Xmas immediately after, and had ALL gifts in the car (including those from Santa), but even without that we like driving.

We pack cases of water, breakfast items (we usually do a quick breakfast in the room since we aren't big breakfast eaters), snacks to bring into the parks, snacks for our room at night, etc. It's nice being able to bring as much stuff as we want.

We also get up and leave around 4am the day we travel. We've still slept the night before, so it doesn't ruin us or leave us really tired. And we check in by around 3pm, depending on stops. We usually take it easy that night - dinner at Ohana and/or maybe downtown disney, and to bed early so we get a good night's sleep.

You said it,,, I think the last couple times we went, we easily spent $40 on water. I know they will give us water if we ask, but the DH say's their water taste too funny. So being able to bring our own beverages is a big reason for my wanting to drive this time.

It's a 1000 mile trip for us, so with stops we're thinking it should be about a 17 or 18 hour drive. We will probably stop just outside of Florida, get some sleep and continue the next morning. Then hopefully arrive around noon, and spend the rest of the day in the parks.

Thanks :goodvibes

I know what you mean. I planned and booked a trip as a gift for my fiance'. It is brutal. The wait... The anticipation... The sneaking around and covering your tracks so that there are no clues. But when you finally present them the gift, it's all worth it.

Just make sure that you BIL and SIL don't tell their kids. Little boys can't keep a secret to save their lives. It gets us ready for speaking without thinking as we get older. ;)
