to me; DH just confirmed that he has booked our room at SSR for Nov 30 - Dec 6. I started planning this trip in April, but we had a change of plans (booked a cruise for ourselves and my parents in March) and decided against our Dec trip. But this past week I have been leaving little hints that I want to see Disney at Christmas. So, I asked if is was possible and he gave me the thumbs up to start planninng. I have been reading this thread all week and I am so excited to finally be able to post. I still can't believe it we will be seeing Disney in all it's Christmas glory. I can't talk about at home because I am going to try my hardest to keep this a secret (I say that about every trip and end up telling the kids DD 7 DS 5 because I love have their excitement to share in the planning). Sorry about babbling on but I so want to tell the world.

What an awesome Christmas in July!!!! Our trips will overlap for a few days. I'm trying hard to keep the secret, too! :cool1:

We are taking a summer trip to Minnesota, leaving on Sunday. So I have been busy with laundry, packing etc....I have been offline most of today! Should be back to normal soon though. Hope everyone is having a fantastic beginning to your weekend. :)

 are you ok?!!! :rotfl:

Happy packing and hope you have a good trip :)

Welcome to Minnesota (yes a little early), we have had a very hot and humid summer hope that is to your liking because that is the forecast for next week also.

Booked our trip yesterday! Woot woot!

4 nights/5 days at WL with free dining. (Dec 12-16th)

Myself, DMom, DS 14 and DS 8. Leaving Grumpy, non-Disney loving DH at home this time!!!!!

:rotfl: Oh boy! My DH just said, "How can anyone not like Disney  :faint:?! It's the 'Happiest Place on Earth'!"

Funny thing is my hubby never wanted to go, he doesn't like theme parks. Then he got real sick and had a hard time recovering (especially mentally) so I thought Disney would be a perfect 'get away from it all' for the whole family - first trip for hubby & daughter and I hadn't been since I was a kid. It was the medicine he needed, seriously, I was amazed at the life it injected back into him and so was he .... made me book our next trip as soon as we were back and told me he needs to go every year :rotfl: Ummm, ok then :teeth:

So glad my DH is as nuts about disney as I am (okay maybe not AS nuts but he really likes it).

I was just thinking about this yesterday. After our big trip last Feb, where he finally got to see all 4 parks, he said "Well, we'Ve seen everything, we don't really need to go back for a while." Needless to say, I was rather dismayed. Then in the fall I got a signing bonus and wanted another trip, so I phrased it as "would you like to go to food and wine." that changed everything. We're big foodies and he loved Epcot so we'll probably do F&W most years now. But it's more than that. He realized how much more there was to see and do. So when I suggested last Dec that we take his parents for this year Dec, he was totally on board. And considering that advance planning drives him insane and we had to book the resort in Jan - I was totally amazed.

It occurred to me yesterday that I'll never take a mother-son trip. we took 2 to visit my parents and do Sea World when DS was little. But I can't see DH ever staying behind on a Dusiey trip. :thumbsup2

@ksromack I saw you mentioned that you have dropped PH - I've decided to do that this time aswell. At first I couldn't see Disney without it but then I was looking at my plan and realised we were spending full days in parks, the PH was only needed for one day (possibly two) so I've tweaked our plan so that we don't need them. Saves money and we can always add them when we're there.

I'm still nervous about it though :scared: :rotfl:

Thanks! We are from IN, and our summer has been the same. So even though it isn't my fave forecast, I can deal with it. ;) We ended up leaving yesterday and spent the night in Chicago. So I will be there soon..... If these boys of mine ever wake up!

this will be our first trip ever with PH (since we have AP's) but have always gone without PH. Never say the point with little ones. Excited to try them but I don't think they are a necessity.:santa:

I was thinking the same thing. I don't think I will do Park Hoppers next time. With a DD2 I found us ending our nights earlier than normal...and kinda sticking to one park a day.

We weren't originally going to rent a car. But my mother ( I don't know why) is trying to convince me that our vacation would be better with a car. So for those of you who have rented cars at WDW a few questions...

1) Is parking free at the resort hotel? (POP! is where we are staying)
2) Is parking free at the parks for on-property guests? Or will be have to pay a parking fee everyday?
3) Do you find it more convenient not having to wait for public transportation?
4) Being able to go to other places to eat/buy groceries...is it worth it?

Thanks everyone!!! :goodvibes
