Is it too early to be booking flights for December?

VAustralia dates have become available for the dates we want to go - DD (6) and myself - Bris - LA - $2883 return. Is this a good price or will there be cheaper deals coming up?

I had budgeted $2500 for flights but if this is a good deal for school holiday time, I will probably book it now then I can concentrate on accommodation etc and saving spending money.

I think the price depends on the dates that you are going. Do you have firm dates in mind? If you leave before the 7th of Dec you will probably be able to get a better deal than if you were to leave after then. I have always much rather take my girls out of school for a few days (or weeks) so I can save a few $$$$$.

Personally, I have not paid over $1100 per adult (me) for our airfares - and the kids have been about 75% I think. I bought my Nov/Dec airfares last year in about May, or around there. I sat and price watched until it got down to where I just didn't want to miss the price and just grabbed them.

Having said that, if you are not much of a gamblin' gal you might just want to get them if they are at a price you can live with - then you have to be sure to never look at the airfares again LOL.

Think I will take the gamble and watch and wait.

It is nearly an extra $500 than I had budgeted on - $500 less for shopping

I went last December and jus checked with the same airline, Unied, tonight for roughly he same time and the price was almost twice as much...I will happily wait until closer because I'm sure he price will go down before than and I am more certain of when I want to go/what I want to do.
