I hate to chime in here... but having used the dp several times, I think you misunderstood. When you asked the cm if you could use it on the day you check out... it would be correct to say yes. Your credits are good until midnight on the day you check out. This assumes you have not used them all up by then.



This is exactly what I mean. So you could still book a TS ADR... and use a credit if you had them. It is per night that you are granted a credit... 7 nights = 7 credits pp in each category (assuming you have regular and not deluxe or quick service plans)

We are planning a trip 12/3 - 12/10 and were hoping to get a discount code to use at the Wilderness Lodge. From what I've read, it looks like everything will be blacked out because of Pop Warner.

We're probably going to stay off property now because full price for the WL is $2,000 more than staying at a nice, off property resort. I'm holding off on any reservations in case they do offer a discount, but I don't think it'll happen.

It'll be my son's first visit, and I'm pretty disappointed.

That is so disappointing. I would stay at a moderate if I were in your shoes. The price difference would make up for the lack of discount and your son would still get to stay in the magic. It is his first trip and being off property just seems like it wouldn't be quite as special.

I was surprised to get a PIN for 12/2 thru 12/9 for WL. It was only 10% but I guess it's something. Still hoping for something better... a bigger % or FD.... keep your fingers crossed

I thought about a moderate, but I'm afraid of overflow from the Pop Warner kids. It's frustrating because PW doesn't affect the deluxe resorts. I can see blacking out value and moderate, but not deluxe.

I'm waiting for general public discounts to be released through December and see how it looks. Maybe I'll get lucky! If not, we're thinking about Swan or Dolphin. Slightly cheaper than a deluxe, but still close to everything with all the Disney benefits.

I keep telling myself that my son won't really remember this trip (he'll be almost 3), but man I REALLY wanted to stay at the WL! Mainly for the convenience because I'm sure we'll need a mid-day nap and it's so nice to be close to the resort. We'll have fun no matter where we stay!

We will be doing the same thing... paying oop for sci fi and then using a credit else where. (not CRT)

Free dining would make up for lack of a room discount, but from what I understand based on past years, the PW week will be blacked out.

Last year my dates were Dec 3rd through 11th and when FD was offered to the public those dates were blacked out for PW, but I moved my arrival date up 1 to December 2nd and was able to get FD for my entire stay. It took a few phone calls though, the first couple CM's said I wasn't allowed to do that but the 3rd CM knew what he was doing and made it happen.

I'm hoping for FD as well for this year, I finally got my sister to agree to a WDW trip, I want her to experience EVERYTHING. Right now we have a few Adr's that we are paying OOP for but QS dining would be so helpful for the rest of the stay.

So, it's looking more and more that FD will most likely be blacked out the week we go (12/03-12/10). I don't know if I'm going to be able to convince my brother to change the dates, so I'm trying to think of some other way to possibly save some dough. Can anyone offer me some suggestions?

The party is my brother, my sister-in-law, my nieces (3 and 6 months), and myself. We have a room booked at the Pop Century resort. We arent too concerned with sit-down dinners but we do have ressies for Hoop-de-doo (paying OOP) and Akershus Princess Breakfast. We were planning on getting free QSDP and paying for the upgrade to the DDP so we could use the table services for Akershus and maybe one or two other dinners.

I need some DISBoard vacation planning savvy!

On a whim I searched through my saved email folder in gmail (since they archive EVERYTHING) and found a pin for our dates. 35% of value which is what we were planning on, though obviously we would have liked FD.

I got a pin code for 40% room in 2009 for June-Dec. 31st, no blackout dates. It was very rare and I only found a few people on the DIS that had it. I found out about it by calling, never got email or postcard.

Still waiting, and I so hate waiting for the discounts to come out! Let's see...in 2008 and 2010 the December discounts were released mid-August. In 2009 the December discounts were released late July. I guess Disney is just trying to keep us on our toes. I have a headache.

That is correct. If you check in during the promotion dates, you get it for your entire stay. My hunch is that it will be blacked out on our check-in date of the 11th, so I plan to change my reservation to a one day room only reservation, followed by a separate reservation with free dining if needed.

We did this once before. They won't guarantee you'll get to keep your same room but they try very hard to make that happen. You won't know until you check in.

I think I saw a PIN offer that blacked out through the 11th, so FD didn't start until that Sunday. And the general public offers generally mimic the PIN codes, so that's what I'm basing it on. It's a shame too since I plan on doing a character meal that night. We'll have to pay OOP for that. If you want to go to the parks though, you can get your package tickets early.

I'm thinking I saw a report of a PIN code for free dining. That's the one that had blackout dates. If not, then all the better!
