December 2011 Code Watch!

recieved a pin today... but it isn't very clear. It talks about calling for dates and the price being $85 a night in September at the values.. But I think that is pretty close to rack.. so :confused3 There is a 3 digit code though...so definitely a pin. The thing that cracks me up though.. it is for the dates we were looking at going to DL... not WDW. (since we are already booked in December)

That is funny. I keep getting pins for DL and it is nowhere near in my future. While someday I hope to convince DH to get on a plane and head to CA, it won't be this year! :lmao:

So does anyone know off the top of their heads what the new upgrade price is for QS to regular dining plan?

I have a ? if you are checking the last day of free dining is offered do you get it for your whole stay hopefully this ? makes sense

That is correct. If you check in during the promotion dates, you get it for your entire stay. My hunch is that it will be blacked out on our check-in date of the 11th, so I plan to change my reservation to a one day room only reservation, followed by a separate reservation with free dining if needed.

I thought I read on here somewhere a few years ago that they stopped doing that. Was that just for discounts on rooms, not free dining? :confused3

I believe it's from 34.99 a person to 47.99 a person, so $12 a person a night? I'm pretty sure.

Also I was looking at the pin I got for room discounts last spring and it was only blacked out until the 10th because that's the LAST DAY of Pop Warner. So I'm assuming the 11th would be okay to book on, or I hope anyway since that's also when we're planning on checking in.

Literally copy/pasted here:
For stays most nights:
2/27–3/5, 5/8–5/27, 5/31–6/4, 8/21–10/8, 10/23–10/29, 11/13–11/19, 11/27–12/3 and 12/11–12/24/11.

check in the 6th...no changing it either :confused3 fingers crossed that its not blacked out but it aint lookin good

Is it safe to say that if free dining were offered in December, that one would need to book a minimum of 5 nights? I'll most likely be checking in on Dec. 9 and staying for 5 nights, but if free dining is blacked out until Dec. 11 then I won't meet the minimum required nights as of Dec. 11. Does anyone know if they ever allow someone to book a package with DDP, charge for the DDP on the first few days that are blacked out, and then discount the free dining on the remaining dates that aren't blacked out? That way I won't have to book two separate reservations and my total number of nights would still be 5.

I can't say for certain, but the offers I've seen in the past were for 5 days/5 nights at minimum and within the blackout dates. I'd imagine that all your days would have to fall in that time for you to qualify and if you're only doing 2-3 nights during that period you wouldn't be able to get the discount/FD. That's just my thoughts on it, I have no way of knowing obviously! :confused3 I did read on another thread that people did split up vacations like that with two reservations, but from what I remember the second half or first half (whichever qualified them for FD/discounts) was long enough to qualify. Or they had say one night where they didn't qualify but then 5 nights where they did.

I could be completely wrong about this...... but I haven't seen a free dining offering yet that required all your days be within the covered period. I believe it is typically just that your check-in had to be within the covered dates. This is probably because you can't add the dining plan for just PART of your stay.

And once again not certain about this.... but the 5 day/5 night thing I THINK might just have been an illustration of how the deal looked, not a statement of the actual minimun nights required.

So, if this happens to be what the FD dates are, if we checked in on the 3rd, could we still get it?

Yes. For your length of stay, regardless of blackout dates. To (I believe) a max of 14 nights.

Check in on the 4th...... completely different story.

And I'm still a day off for my projected check-in date. I said the 11th. It's the 10th we want to check in. So I would need to do a room only for 1 night, followed by a package starting on the 11th.

Great! Now if only Disney would extend FD to the 3rd so the magic can happen!

I'm hoping the middle of August rumor is true so we can get this train a'movin'. Even scaling back discounts they've always had them in December so why can't they just tell us?! :surfweb:

I am right there with everyone on wanting a December discount, that's when our trip is planned. Is anyone else concerned that they haven't even offered a public discount for Oct/Nov. guests? Or is that typical, we have always gone during hurricane season so we always had FD. But there are no room offers, dining offers, etc. for Oct/Nov and they will be having to pay their balances off soon. Just wondering if it's a sign about end of the year deals....hope not.

SIGH...I may have to reconsider December...I'd forgotten about Pop Warner. I can't do November because of soccer and football. I don't want to get any closer to Christmas. I substitute teach and I know the one thing that drives our teachers crazy is taking a week off when you've got a week or two of vacation time right around the corner. Not to mention missing tests/projects teachers want to wrap up before the break. Maybe January or February is better...I just hate to wait!!!

As far as I know they have released FD and other discounts for late fall in BOTH mid July and August. So it honestly could be either at this point.

Nah. I think it will all come at once.

This is odd. Via a banner ad, I arrived at this page, but this Value Resort/December Dates promotion is not available via the "Special Offers" page:

EDITED
Nevermind, I ran the numbers myself and there is actually rack rates.... moreover, I am actually getting a lower price ($231) using the same variables listed on the landing page.

Just an ad and not a promo. I apologize for any confusion.
