December 2011 Code Watch!

I've played with the resort reservations while logged in, even saved a quote. Went ahead and made ADRs for my dates, 12/17-12/20. I can stay offsite very reasonably then, so here's hoping :santa:. Kicking myself for not doing the bounceback when we were there in March, but it seemed so far away then. . .

Good luck everyone!

I'm with you, I never thought my wife would go twice in the same year.....:rolleyes1

Hope it works for you like it did for me. Well, 30 percent off room rate anyways. Wish it was 40 percent!

I've read a little about bounce backs, but don't fully understand what it is. So you must book while you're there with the bounce back code? How much off is it usually? Must be a good deal because I keep reading about it......

Just to let you know, you won't have additional credits on your check-out day to double up with on your first day, as the credits are per number of nights of the reservation, not days. If you're staying 7 nights/8 days, you'll have 7 table service credits per person. the credits are still valid to be used the day of your check-out but you won't get any additional credits on your check out day. If you plan on using two credits the first day to go to CRT you'll have to pay out of pocket for one of the other table service reservations. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! :sad2:

Thanks, hum the CM on the phone said we had a day on our check out since we bought park tickets that day...hum did she lie to me>? I said, the day we check out,,we are planing on going to MK that day. Will we still have dining plan, and she said yes. I called again tonight asked again, and another CM told me I had it since I had another day park ticket. hum. I thank you for your help, but I hope your wrong.

The dining plan is connected to the nights you have at the resort, not to the days of tickets you have purchased.

Per Disney's website:

"The Disney Dining Plan includes one (1) Quick-Service Meal, one (1)
Snack, and one (1) Table-Service Meal per person, per night of your
package stay for everyone in the party ages 3 and over."

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/me...alog/WaltDisneyWorld/en_us/PDF/2011Dining.pdf

ETA: The per night is for any Dining Plan you pick.

There was no bounce-back when we were there in Feb & I was soooo bummed out b/c we knew we'd be back within the year having bought APs...:headache:

I wanted to add that any credits you didn't use during your stay on the dining plan will still be good until midnight on the day of check out.

I hate to chime in here... but having used the dp several times, I think you misunderstood. When you asked the cm if you could use it on the day you check out... it would be correct to say yes. Your credits are good until midnight on the day you check out. This assumes you have not used them all up by then.

This is exactly what I mean. So you could still book a TS ADR... and use a credit if you had them. It is per night that you are granted a credit... 7 nights = 7 credits pp in each category (assuming you have regular and not deluxe or quick service plans)

Got email today but it was for November dates.

Getting Closer! :thumbsup2

Disney is not saying free dining, but an overall percent off to a package deal. They are being very careful on how they are wording everything, here.

You can see Disney wants very much to get away from free dining terminology.

I would be very careful and compare regular price to this deal.

I hadn't noticed previously that the email was actually included a PIN (it was buried below the scroll) and indicated that I should call for additional dates.

I called, and the Good news is that I am allowed to apply it to my my December trip dates :). Bad news is that it applies only to specific value resorts , bumming, even with all the MonoRail discussion, staying a CRT is part of the grand plan for Christmas in WDW.

Stay off site if your driving there! After over 30 trips on site we are going back to off site and I don't think I'll ever be looking back at staying at Disney. We are headed there for the first week in December.

Staying off site is fine for anyone who wants to do that as it can save the person money. The down side to it is the loss of the DDP. The only way to get that is to stay on site.

For my family personally, it's worth staying on site to get the DDP and pay for it ahead of time. The only thing we would have to worry about is paying the gratuity OOP.

We're looking forward to going this year. I'm hoping a discount code comes out. But if not, then we are still going anyway. DS9 is looking forward to going on rides that he was too short for when he was 4, lol :)

I booked for December 9 - 14th last week staying on-site at GF. On Monday, I received an email confirming my stay and buried down below was a phone number and a PIN. I called today and got 30% off at Poly. It worked out to be less money to stay Poly CL than GF so we took it. :)

I thought it was weird to get a PIN AFTER I booked!

I've never heard of such a thing! Made me go look at my confirmations...nothing...rats!:rolleyes1

I know I didn't really need to post that, but I wanted this thread to appear above the 2010 thread that somehow got bumped up :confused3

I'm mad as well for not doing the bounceback in March for December. I didn't do it cuz I received a PIN that was similiar to the bounceback we had in our room. It expired in June and I forgot to book it as we just went to Disneyland for the first time with DD6 (she hated it; prefers WDW - like me). In planning for that trip, I forgot that it expired. Called today and simply had to book at rack rate. This way I secure my room and then apply an AP code or general public code once they are released later this year.

As far as dining plans, I'd NEVER pay rack rate to get free dining as we stay at AKL. For my family, the dining plan costs us several HUNDRED dollars more. Somewhere on here I posted the differences between a 40% off code at AKL versus free dining at rack rate. The difference was very substantial, but that's mostly because DW and I usually share plates as we are not huge eaters. All of our meals are generally too big for us to finish by ourselves and we hate wasting food. The only way we'd do free dining is if they offered 40% off AND FD...which would most likely not happen anytime soon (although it HAS been offered before).:rolleyes1

ITA! For us, the % off the room is always a better option because we eat similarly to you. I spent a lot of time looking through menus, etc... and I don't want to spend my vacation feeling like we have to stuff ourselves and always get the most expensive thing on the menu to feel like we got a good deal :thumbsup2

We are planning a trip 12/3 - 12/10 and were hoping to get a discount code to use at the Wilderness Lodge. From what I've read, it looks like everything will be blacked out because of Pop Warner.

We're probably going to stay off property now because full price for the WL is $2,000 more than staying at a nice, off property resort. I'm holding off on any reservations in case they do offer a discount, but I don't think it'll happen.

It'll be my son's first visit, and I'm pretty disappointed. :sad2:

My discount also appeared to be a package deal...it was a percentage off IF I booked DDP. It was substantially less than the price I got online without the dining. If free dining were offered, I think it would save me an additional $600, however.
