I called yesterday to see if there was a pin attached to my name for December and was told that no, there is no pin attached to my name, and THERE ARE NO PINS AVAILABLE FOR ANYTIME PAST OCTOBER. Oh well. Here's hoping the AP discount comes out soon. I'm staying at AKL for Christmas this year regardless of what my husband says or whether a discount comes out or not.

That's not true! There are plenty of people that have PIN's for October, November and December!

I know. I figured he was just being lazy and didn't want to look. He was probably the same guy that someone was complaining about in a previous post. I was also looking for something in September for my DD's birthday -- there will be 6 total -- and he basically said the only thing we could fit in was a two bedroom suite at BWI or BC. I asked about OKW or SSR and he said we wouldn't fit. I hung up at that point.

Well, I already booked w/a PIN code 35% off the room for 12/11-12/18. (We really wanted to go 12/10-12/17, but the PIN was blacked out until 12/11 so we adjusted.)

I've been waiting to book airfare, since I was hoping for FD that would allow us to go back to 12/10-17. Also, flight times were better for 12/10 vs 12/11. Anyway, bit the bullet today & just booked air for 12/11-18, so now I'm sure FD or something will come out w/in a week.

You can all thank me then

I adjusted our days, again, today, and the CM told me that if something were coming out, we probably wouldn't see it until August. Grain of salt, of course, but that's what she said. I really would love a better PIN... Right now we are booked at the CSR for 11/27-12/2 and it's a little bit more than we would like to spend.

I don't know historically, but I do know that last year, we booked in mid August because that is when free dining came out for December and we decided to go. So don't give up.

I'm not trying to start the whole, "maybe it's down for discounts" cause I don't think so. I'm just tired of deciding I need to check something, or like tonight, wanting to change a couple of my ADRs & can't because...once again, the site is down for maintenance!! Ta-dah!!!

LOL, ok vent over. But no one IRL is awake for me to complain to & even if they were, no one would understand like DISers!!!


Guess I'll go to bed & wait to do my ADR changes in the morning!

I priced out a vacation on the Disney site but didn't book. I got a couple Disney Destinations emails, but they were just pics of resorts and encouraging me to book. About a month later I got a pin code for 30 percent off in Sept. I really wanted to go in December, and the fine print said to call about other dates and rates available. So I called and the CM said the dates were good through Dec. 22.with some blackouts.

It doesn't hurt to call and ask I guess!

That happened to me as well. I called twice, first CM didn't offer up the fact that even though the pin said Sept I could go in Dec like we wanted. I called again and the second CM was fabulous, she used the pin I had and looked for more without me even asking. I did end up booking our trip figuring at least got something if nothing else comes out but I'm still hoping for FD!!

My brother and I are scrapping and saving for our December trip to POFQ. We figure save what we need and if a discount comes, thats extra spending money! Possibly even the Wild Africa Trek Tour.....fingers crossed! But being there from Dec 6-12 makes me nervous that we will be right in the blackout dates because of Pop Warner.

Stay off site if your driving there! After over 30 trips on site we are going back to off site and I don't think I'll ever be looking back at staying at Disney. We are headed there for the first week in December.

You can get either a bigger place for the same money or get an equivalent resort for cheaper money. When you think about it you are not there to stay in your room; you are there to enjoy the parks. We are getting a hot breakfast which will include eggs, meat and potato. There's even an evening reception 3X a week. In our case, we are getting a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, and kitchen for less than a moderate. We will be 4 miles away from Disney. I'm willing to pay for Disney parking; we are still money ahead. There's a shuttle at the resort if I want to use it for Disney. Because one in our party will have a wheelchair included I'm thinking we will drive, but I may try the shuttle.

We can afford to stay on Disney property, but I'm always looking for value. I will book Disney if they come up with free dining, but that's the only way I will do it. There's no way our economy has improved overall and I don't think it's right for Disney to charge their current prices. I passed on two pincodes; because, they were not enough of an incentive to stay on Disney property.

You have to voice your dissatisfaction by not staying on Disney property without a good deal. If you cave in, Disney wins and there will be less and less deals in the future, too. I've been at this for about 40 years and I know Disney will cave in if we band together.

We will be staying POR Dec14th -Dec.21st. I called 3 times asking prices etc. Finally a week later on the 3rd try, I HAD A PIN FOR FREE DINING! We upgraded to table service since we wanted to eat at some character dining locations.
Total for the five of us,7nights 8days park tickets, plus dinning $2900.00 Im OK with that!
We are using our arrive day and our checkout day table service for Cinderalla's royal table,(since it uses 2) on the day we arrive! Plus after we eat, we bought tickets for MVMCP!!! Going to be a great first day! Day of checkout , our plane leaves at 4pm , so we will just use our 1 Quick service meal for lunch at a park! I CANT WAIT!

1st day--Cinderella's Royal Table
2nd day--Chef Mickey's
3rd day--Coral Reef
4th day--Boma
5th day--SCI-FI
6th day--Crystal Palace
7th day--Crown and Pub for illuminations

Quick service for lunch, and one snack a day! I think my kids and wife will enjoy this places ol dad booked. Been 2 yrs since sci-fi, they asked to go back and Boma is a must in my household. Crystal Palace family tradition.

Just to let you know, you won't have additional credits on your check-out day to double up with on your first day, as the credits are per number of nights of the reservation, not days. If you're staying 7 nights/8 days, you'll have 7 table service credits per person. the credits are still valid to be used the day of your check-out but you won't get any additional credits on your check out day. If you plan on using two credits the first day to go to CRT you'll have to pay out of pocket for one of the other table service reservations. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Yes I got a free dining pin that was good for my whole trip last year. Nov 26th to December 14th.

(BTW, what does AP stand for? I've seen it in a lot of posts)
