Ah...Florida in December. We have also had trips where one day it was sunny and 80 and the next day so cold we decided to go back to our room! One MVMCP was BITTERLY cold, which was o.k. because the snow seemed more real.. My kids will brave pretty much any temp to get in the pools that are heated though.

We also pack a little bit of everything and I will never forget gloves ever again. One year, we were wearing sweatshirts and my hands were freezing but temp wise it wasn't bad with just the sweatshirt. I always carry them with me now though. We had a front move in with some seriously heavy rain and the temp dropped 20 degrees in an hour.

With that said...I love love love Disney in December no matter how cold.

Every time we've been at the POP they've told us they were heated to 83. Many times we could see steam rising off the pool in the morning. My daughter did swim when it was really cold last December. You have to have a close room though. It's the walk back that will do you in!

Oh my goodness, I hope so. We really want to go in December, and are looking at cutting down some days to make it more affordable. I would love to be able to leave the trip as is and get some good discount!

I'm not so sure now. I posted on 2 other threads. The answer to that question sounds like, yes, it sounds like a Disney offer forthcoming.
But his blog post about it almost sounds like it has something to do with his site or something. It's odd to me.

Yes, that sounds like he is organizing a meet in December. Many websites, fanpages, and podcasts are doing their events then. Our own hosts, Dis Unplugged, is having their Disapalooza December 10th.

I doubt this is about discounts.

Same. I think it's nothing to do with anything Disney is doing.

The more I'm looking at his blog posts & his FB page, the more I think it's just an announcement for his pages. He keeps talking about this announcement when people ask him questions about booking & going in Oct., Nov. or Dec.
But when someone asked why he thought they haven't releaed discounts for Nov., he tells them the lack of offers for fall/winter confuse him as well.
He was also supposed to make this announcement a few days ago but wasn't ready yet so he postponed it.

I hope I'm wrong, but those details tanked my hope of it being anything more than his site doing something big for people who book thru him.

OMG!! My heart is pounding! My DH surprised me and booked the flights yesterday. $82 each way could not pass it up. he said even if FD did not come out we could use the Southwest credit for a different trip but he wanted to be prepared. I can't wait for tomorrow, so do I book now and update the reservation or wait for tomorrow?????

Don't feel dumb! I think we all felt that little tingle of excitement until we dug a bit deeper. Waiting has made me a bot unnerved, lol. I think we are all ready to bite at any kind of rumor. It makes the time pass!

Kudos to your DH for snagging great airfare!! Hopefully something decent comes out so you can take advantage this December!!

Back to the waiting people!
If I eat anymore popcorn while waiting, I'll need a diet!! So, out with it already Disney!! At this point, I'd be thrilled to see anything!! FD would be great, but a 30-40% discount would thrill me just as much by now!

Come on Disney!!! Don't they realize that they could (potentially) make more money by offering discounts? Some people who aren't going, would decide to go if there were a discount. Some people currently booked might choose to upgrade or extend their stay or add extras like the DDP.

or there are people like me, who have a house off-site already booked, lol. If no decent offer comes out, I'll be canceling & going off-site!
It looks like the third Monday in July last year & the third Monday in August in 2009. Monday is the third Monday of July!! But that probably doesn't mean much..... /sigh.

December Codes historically are announced in August usless they are Pin Codes..I have been researching lol
