December 2011 Code Watch!

I didn't receive a pin, but I called and asked if I had one. I don't think I did. I told the CM that all of my friends were getting pins and we wanted to book our trip for December. Next thing I knew, I had a 40% off discount on BCV.

I got this idea from another DISer so I called and it worked. Give them a call and maybe there is some Magic waiting for you.

Thank you for posting this!!! We've received pins in the past, but nothing lately. After reading your post, we decided to give it a try. I called and was told we did have a pin associated with our name/address. We could not book the week of December 3 due to blackout dates but were eligible for 40%discount starting Dec. 11. Yea!!

I called yesterday to check on a PIN for my December 16-18 stay at WL and low and behold I had a 40% off PIN waiting for me .... so here we come WL .. 2 nights in a Woods View room :goodvibes

I'm a newbie, but saw this thread because we really, really want to go in December instead of September. I have no idea what a pin is or how you get one. HELP, please

I booked Dec 10--19th.. super excited to go again. Hoping for Free Dining at that time, prefer that than the resort discount. If anyone gets the news of Free Dining, please share.:yay:

We just booked November 30- December 4 (so maybe I should be in the other thread :lmao:). Soooo excited!!!!!!!!!!!!:banana: Here's hoping I get a PIN or they come out with FD soon

is reporting a free dining discount available in the UK from August through November, but not December for WDW, right now.

Another bad, interesting development is that free dining offer excludes value resorts. It has free CS for moderates and free regular plus dining for the deluxe resorts for paying for full rack room rate.

I'm not feeling too good now about the chances for free dining in December as I did before this post.

woo hoo!

i had booked with a 30% off pin for our december dates. my sister and mom both requested a DVD and played around on the site. i also requested a DVD in DH's name. we were trying to get the 40% off pin. finally, my mom got the 40% off pin. it saved me another almost $300 (over the other pin i had).

what's great is that when she called to reserve her room, they just let her apply the pin to my existing reservation (versus making a new one and canceling the old one). :thumbsup2

our dates are december 17-23, celebrating DD's 10th birthday!

The current Spring deals commercial for WDW was on a few minutes ago , which got me thinking. The pin codes that most of us have received expire next month (at least mine does, don't know about anyone else). Anyone know if these same discounts of 35% and 40% will be made available to the general public after that? And if so, how long does Disney make them available?

Reason for my question is that b/c DH, Dbrother and myself are part of a bowling vacation league, we can't book our December vacation until at least June (after our league is done). It would really be great if the 35% and 40% discounts are made available to the general public to help us keep our cost down.

Thanks!

to be less if they come out like 30% to 35% depending on the resort.

It's hard to say, but the general feeling around here is that discounts will be harder to come by for December this year. I would like free dining myself, but that's looking extremely doubtful.

If you have a code you can lock in a reservation now and change later if a better one comes along or if your dates don't go hand in hand with the bowling. There are no fees for changes as long as you are not in the 45 day window of your trip.

I don't believe for a moment that discounts will be hard to come by in December. The early part of the month jumped in price already by being moved up from the lowest price of value season.

People have been booking trips for a LONG time now for Jan to Oct1 because those discounts came out so early. Many who would typically go in Dec have settled on earlier months to lock in the deals.

And most importantly, I think Disney is addicted to the high crowds and high resort occupancy rates, which would likely fall off substantially in the absence of discounts.

The UK has a new promo that's changing how the free dining offer is being used now. Values are not included in this this new promotion, only mods and deluxe. Mods will get CS and the deluxe will get the basic plus DP. Furthermore, this deal is from August through November and December was not included thus far.

I'm no different and sure hope I'm wrong, but I have the pincode for 40% off right now and I'm going to book now to play it safe. If you don't have a pincode then you have fewer choices but to wait.

It's not that hard to change if a better deal comes out. I've gone to Disney for over 30 years and there aren't deals all the time. It's been very different over the last few years and the deals have been there and we are all spoiled that way. Again, I hope I'm wrong.

Well, some of us are on the "NEVER GIVE THIS PERSON A PIN CODE, NO MATTER WHAT" list that Disney must keep..... so I have no choice but to hope for a better general public offering.

Regardless, we'll do something. Even with no discount, the crowds are sure to be much lower, so that might just be worth the difference in price!

I wish we could book right now, but we don't have the money to do it. We're planning on using part of our tax refund to fund our trip for what the bowling league does not cover.

I got a pin for the discount. And it has dates that I would like to go. The question I have is, it states for week 13/11 to 19/11.....I would like to arrive a day or two early. How does this work? Will they give me the discount on the two nights added in? Or do I just pay the regular room rate? Or does this need to be a seperate room reservation?

Does anyone know how this works? Any info would be greatly appreciated before I make the call.

Thanks:):)

It can be the same reservation, you'd just be charged a different rate for those nights. The PIN I used was only good for half our trip but all our nights are on the same reservation

So while in the recent past, values have got quick service...and mods and deluxes have got the main (the one with one TS a day)....you are saying nothing for the value, quick for the mods and main for the deluxes?

Thanks for replying. I wasn't sure how that would work. I didn't know if it was two different reservations; therefore making it different park tickets.

BUT now I know and can add on an extra day or two!!

Thanks:)
