December 2011 Code Watch!

I explained about the rumor of the new code. Of course, I could not get confirmation of the new F/D offer.

I did ask about the black out days and the policy of starting your trip ahead of a blackout time. The CM stated it has gone either way depending on the promotion. This is not going to help much before the rumored offer is available and we can see the fine print.

She did say the last free dining promo (Aug/Sept) was good to go as long as you started your trip during the dates of the offer then it would extend beyond.

Since I made the call, I asked about a pin code in our names. I have a free quick service offer in my name right now that's good until Sept. 3 for booking for the rest of the year with a few blackout dates. For example, December is good until the 22nd. This offer is only for free QS regardless of the resort.

I would still call and check for a new pincode. She mentioned this was an e-mail offer and I told her I did not receive it. She gave me the code to call back. She was very nice about it.

I think I'm going to book now with this offer; she said I could change it if something better came along; so, I'm not locked in like some of the other offers.

Hooray for a rumor that I really hope is true! :cheer2: This would be fabulous and would save our family of six a lot of money.

I don't think there's been a free dining offer yet that didn't give you the deal for your entire stay as long as it was in effect the day you check in. They can't CHARGE you for the dining plan for PART of your stay, so I wouldn't expect that to change here.

I sure hope that happens! We're going 12/1-12/10 and it would be great if that offer extends to our whole stay! That will save us about $1k right there!

I'm going to wait until the 3rd to call. Maybe they'll send out an email for it (if the rumors are true). If not, then I'll give a call and see if we have another pin code that would help us keep the cost down.

As long as your check in date falls in those dates, yes, you would get it for your whole stay.

I'll have to do a room only on the 10th, maybe I'll find a room discount for then, but kind of doubt it, since it's Pop Warner, lol. Too bad I couldn't change us from the 10-18 to the 11-19. Not sure DH could take an extra Monday off though. I was banking on any new offer to begin on the 10th, they usually start the Saturday after Pop Warner is over, but oh well. I'll live with it, hehe.

This seems much more legit than anything else I've seen so far!! Here's hoping for lots of pixie dust!

Ok fellow December people!
I need some opinions.
We are currently booked at ASMu in a Family Suite. If this is true, we'd get Free QSDP. We would upgrade to DxDDP regardless of where we are staying.
Just trying to decide if we should "upgrade" to a POR to have less to spend to upgrade & less on our room. But then we'd be giving up the extra space & bathroom.
To upgrade to the DxDDP from the FQSDP, is $1540ish. Not bad still for a family of 5 to wat for 7 nights. $1540 = $220 per day = $44 per person = $14.67 per meal.

That's actually exactly what we're doing! We'll be there at the same time.

My math for the above question & yes, I asked on 2 different threads, lol. I want as mnay opinions as possible. :goodvibes

ASMu, family suite w/ 7 day park hoppers w/ FQSDDP= $3354.52
ASMu, family suite w/ 7 day park hoppers upgraded to DxDDP= $4894.52
So that adds $1540. (More than my math going off of the pp's price diff. in QS, Reg & Dx.

POR, AB room w/ 7 day park hoppers w/ FDDP = $ 3118.38
POR, AB room w/ 7 day park hoppers upgraded to DxDDP = $ 4274.56
That adds $1155 from DDP to DxDDP.

Difference in POR vs. ASMu = $619.96
Is the extra room & bathroom worth that much??

It looks like you have four boys just like me! I guess it would depend on whether your boys would rather have more privacy or a pool with a slide. Boys usually don't take a lot of time to get ready in the morning. My boys are younger so I'd for sure save the money and use it towards souvenirs or another activity. Since your kids are older it's a tougher choice.

Yes, them being older is exactly what is making it a tough choice. I'm going to talk to DH this evening & ee what he thinks. He may think the private bedroom is worth the extra money. Even if we stay ASMu, the FD makes it fall below my budget, even with the upgrade to DxDDP.

Anyone have the official word as to whether or not it's good for your whole stay if you check in on the last day of it? We, like others, are checking in on December 17 and would love if it would be valid for our whole stay

Ack, we are checking in on the 19th. I guess we just missed it! If it's true. We decided to take the weekend to get ready to go down there and have early Christmas celebrations with DH's family...last year free dining went through the 20th- one can hope!

We are booked at POFQ already. If for some reason the free dining would cover our stay, what do we do? We have to re-book?

Price out 2 rooms at ASMu instead of a family suite and request connecting rooms. It usually comes out cheaper.

You would call and see if it can be applied to the existing reservation if the 19th is included.

The 19th is not included in the promotion. The promotion closest to Christmas is 12/11-12/17. If the poster is not arriving until the 19th they will not qualify.

I know the 19th is not included on the rumored free dining code... the poster stated "one can hope!" and I stated "if the 19th is included".

Hi there,
Does it make sense to book this weekend and just add free dining to the existing reservation, or will that res be wiped out and a new one created that includes free dining? I'm just trying to save some time on Monday, should this wonderful rumor prove to be true!!!
Also, do we think this is going to be a release right to general public or be only for Disney Visa for a couple days? And lastly, any ideas on whether there will be a photo book requirement?
Thanks,
Tracy:cheer2:

There are only a limited number of rooms with the discount and as far as I know, you would basically cancel your existing and make a new one. Your previous room or resort choice may be unavailable depending on availability when you call back to re-book.

So, what you're saying is don't book until Monday, but book first thing in the morning, should the dining be released. (knocking on wood veneer)

That's what I would do and what I'm actually planning on doing. Plug in my cell phone, call at 6am our time and stay on until I get the thing booked with FD. If you're planning on a value or moderate, make sure you've got a back-up plan in case the unexpected happens and they're out of rooms at your first choice. I have heard that people have called back later after the rush dies down and found available rooms with discounts at their first choice, but honestly that's too big a risk for me.
