December 2011 Code Watch!

Add me to this list. Planning a trip for Dec 10-18, most likely in family suites at all star music (sorry, don't know abbreviations yet). Going to call and sound all pitiful for a pin and maybe I will get lucky. Would love free dining though...just can't take the wait for a discount.

If we book now at full price, does that guarentee the room and we can make adjustments once there are promotions or pins?

Not really, it's sort of counter productive in a way - prevailing wisdom is that when Disney offers discounts they block out a certain number of rooms available to book w/ the discount. They choose which room catagories/resorts/total to offer in the discount based on how full particular resorts already are. So if your full price room is the same as one available under the discount - then presto, you're good. If your room isn't in the block for the discount because Disney thinks that room category at that resort is already booked enough (maybe because people like you have booked it planning to add a discount when it comes out) then no, you have to switch to another room category or resort. The ultimate irony is if enough people switch to get the discount then your original room/resort may now be empty enough to add some of those rooms to the discount offer.
W/ that said, I'm probably going to book what I want for Dec. in a couple of weeks so that I can @ least make my dinning ressies @ 180+10, knowing full well that I'll cancel/rebook w/ a Dec. discount if they come out again this summer - hate to do it, but ADRs need to be made!

This is probably my plan also. My ADR date is 6/14, definately do not want to wait to make my ADRs.
But, this is something I've been wondering, maybe you or someone else here who's done the FD before.....if I book room only for now & schedule my ADRs, don't thay take down your reservation number for your ADRs? When you call back & add a discount code, will it affect your ADRs??

Did that question make sense?!

You might post this over on the dinning board, but when this question has been asked before the answer has been that changing and/or canceling & rebooking won't impact existing ADRs.

Actually there isprobably not as much urgency as you think. I wnet last year at this same time and I was able to get reservations after 180 for everything I wanted except the Canadian Steak House. That includes the princess breakfasts and xmas processionals

Okay, in my email this am there was yet another FD offer, but only thru 8/31!!! Grrrrr... I believe this makes the third I've gotten. I really really hope that they don't discard my name from the "special PIN" list and keep it on when & if PINs for later in the year come out. A little pixie dust PLEASE????

Hey guys, maybe a bit off topic but I am planning a trip for the first week of December...does anyone know the dates yet for the Pop warner tournament for this year? Maybe a bit early but figured I would ask anyway! Also hoping for some kind of discount for that time!

is it crazy busy this week with the pop warner, that is when I have book?

We were there for the Pop Warner week last year and it was not busy at all. Of course, I'm used to summer crowds, but we barely had any lines except for the most popular attractions, which we fastpassed. We didn't book until the very end of August and even got free dining. In fact, we liked that week so much that we are going again this year (well, the only problem was the weather-- it was downright cold-- but here's hoping for more normal weather this year)! The crowds are predicted to be the same according to to the UG website.

I've read that the only busy place is the ASSp (or any resort that they overflow to) which is where most of them stay. They don't really affect the parks because they are at their competitions during the day, which I believe are held at the Wide World of Sports.

Jumping on! Hope we'll be able to go the first week in December. This will be our family's 2nd trip. Stayed at Pop the first time and absolutely loved it. Hopefully, everyone will get a nice discount or special rate (I'm hoping for free dining)!

Just a heads up that I don't believe the bounceback code is valid for someone else to use. It's weird that they allowed you to use it.

I was at Disney last year and attempted (while still there) to book 2 rooms for later in the year but was told that because I was only staying in 1 room the bounceback could only be applied to that one room.

Has anyone else experienced this? Are the bounceback codes transferrable?

I'd just feel bad for PP if you're prepared for one price and it changes for you.
