December 2009 Code Watch

I've messed with the site, used every email we have and still nothing :( I really need the PIN for December so we can change our Sept/Oct trip....oh well, maybe there is still time :)

Save a few trip options and try booking a few trips and then back out or X out - to prompt that survey. Next.just be patient. It might take a few weeks.
I really hope you get it. Fingers crossed.

Just want everyone to know what happened to me ....
I got a promo code through my disney visa for free dining when I called my AAA agent he called disney and they said it was sold out for my dates... 12/05/2009-12/13/2009 so I was bummed...... today he called me and said when he went in to office another client had gotten the promo code to so he called and she got it so he asked why I did not and so she entered my code again and it went through .... he asked why that happened and she said the other girl must have entered code in wrong with a typo.... so make sure if someone tells you it is sold out or no good that you confirm the numbers with them so anyway my story has a fairy tale ending we got free dining a savings of 660.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3:
Also we had other friends and family members going a grand gathering and so he called back and they gave them the free dining too!!!!!!!!!Yipppee for pixie dust!!!!!!!!!!!! It paid to have a AAA agent he is the best! Just wanted you all to know so you dont get told NO and it is wrong that would have been a costly mistake !

I JUST LOOKED AT MY EMAIL FROM THEM IT WAS FROM DISNEY DESTINATIONS i THOUGHT IT WAS FROM MY VISA SINCE IT HAD A DISNEY VISA ON IT BUT IT WAS JUST SAYING TO GET A DISNEY VISA FOR ADVERTISEMENT SORRY SO IT IS FROM DISNEY DESTINATIONS ANYWAY MY MAIN GOAL WAS TO MAKE SURE THAT IF THEY TELL YOU IT IS SOLD OUT OR NOT AVAILABLE AND YOU HAVE THE PIN HAVE THEM CHECK IT

Just checked my email for the 100th time as I usually do. There was an email form Disney Destinations.:cloud9: I was on Disney.com earlier tinkering around. Well, it said thanks for visiting Disney.com we had to send you something to express our gratitude.....custom letterhead I can download. :scared1: I don't need any darn letterhead give me a Nov/Dec pin code to express your gratitude. Disney is just playing with my head now.

I got the same thing too, and had the same reactions!!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed, though, and telling myself that there's still hope for some pixiedust:. Good luck to you guys, too!

Well I went on Disney.com this afternoon and played some more including saving other options. However for me, I am hoping for a discounted room pin not a free dining pin since I will be activating my AP on the trip and getting at TIW card. I am also watching the passholder site to see if they open up any room discounts for December.

I got excited too - but as with you guys, it was the letterhead. Sigh.

So, I went in and started BOOKING the trip and then backed out. We'll see if that prompts anything...

how do you prompt the survey if you back out of booking? I have tried it several times. every time I get to the actual payment screen I have backed out or "x'd" out the browser but I never get the survey where I can say I'm waiting for the price to drop before booking. someone help me!!!

I'm dying for a pin...:furious:

Oh well...pin or not I'm going to Disney for Christmas!:mickeyjum

I use to get the survey ALL the time when pricing out trips. I would always pick the option of pricing was why I didn't book. I never got a code. Now I don't even get the survey anymore, not sure why :confused3

you think they are onto us??

:rotfl:

Has anyone heard the not-even-rumors of the CM's telling folks that are booking to keep an eye on the website? (meaning Disney, obviously, although I am sure it will show up here, too)...

One CM even told someone they have OT approved starting Wednesday...to have extra booking CM's on tap for whatever it is??

So maybe the fall deal....whatever that is...is coming down the pipeline! :)

THIS wednesday?? I hope so...

When I tried calling to see if I had a PIN associated with my name the CM told me that they had no indication of upcoming deals but it wouldn't come out until the current one expires...I think its up a few more weeks...

UGH!!! Just shoot me now and put me out of my pain!:guilty:

We are wishing for a code in December as well. Got one last years saved some decent money on room discount.

Yeah...this actually makes more sense... That should be July 26th...I think...that the FD offer expires for booking it. Which means the new one may be able to book next week? If they come out with something? But how soon before they start booking it do they announce it?

Maybe they would start OT once they announce? So maybe this Wed?

I am sure we will hear about it first on here....
popcorn:: :surfweb: popcorn:: :surfweb:

Any bets on what it might be?? I think I would like a 4/3 deal? Not completely sure...we are not staying 7 nights? I need to do some math this weekend and see what would be the best deal. I also have an AP. More to factor in. :confused3

If they do announce it before the current offer expires maybe they are just extending FD? :confused3 (then they wouldn't have two offers overlapping for their booking agents).
Personally I would hate that. From what I've heard it just makes ADR's so difficult to get. Besides we already have a FD pin and a discount on the room rate would probably be a better deal for us since we're staying at a deluxe. Not that I am complaining. We are thankful for what we've got, but it would seem like it was pointless for them to have sent out all of those FD pins if they were just going to open it up to the general public anyways. So ... hoping for a nice room rate discount here!

come from special pincodes sometimes. Supposedly, Disney uses the special pincodes (selective marketing) as a way to gage what works best for a promo. If good results are ascertained from a particular, special pincode then Disney has a tendency to then go public with that offer. This is not a guarantee of the promo to go public, but it's a tool that Disney may or may not use.

Last year, there was a Disney Visa offer for free dining for the fall and winter of 2008 with blockout dates. Many of us are hoping for this offer to repeat this year.

For those who receive the special pincodes, you have the ability of booking your stay sooner and it's easier to do so that way. Also, you will not have the same hassles of whether or not a resort will be available for the deal, etc. Most Disney public offers are limited in amount or rooms available at each resort for it.

ADRs for free dining is tougher no matter what. The public offer if there will be one may come later. Last year the Disney Visa offer did not come until mid September. The ADR 90 plus 10 day mark for the Thanksgiving/ Christmas holiday actually starts around August 20th or so. Many of you with the special pincodes will have your dinner reservations already booked before the so-called public code would even happen if it runs it's course like last year. Otherwise, everyone will have to compete and call bright and early on their designated day for dinner reservations. Good luck to all.

Yes, I've heard of Disney doing this before - testing the market with pins before releasing to the general public. However, the rumour is that the late fall/winter discounts may be released this Wednesday. This seems way earlier than normal, so just doesn't seem that it could be right, unless bookings for this period are way down. Either way, if the rumour is true, it takes away any ADR advantage for someone who may already have a pin (although you're right, their rooms are probably already booked).
I've been following the ADR thread and during this past booking window for those visiting during the fall FD promo it was a nightmare getting ADR's (some people were speculating that the new online ressie system was allowing people to do multiple bookings - whether or not that was the case many complained of no availablity at many locations). Anyways, a fact of life I know during any FD promo. I guess my point is that if the rumour is true (that the discount will be released this Wednesday) and the fall promo is FD there really wasn't much of a "prize"/"reward" whatever you want to call it for those who received the pin.
