December 2009 Code Watch

I just went to play around with the saved vacations I have online (hoping to prompt them to send me a PIN) and the reservation system is down for upgrades...wonder if that will mean good news with some savings for December!

As for the approved OT starting tomorrow, that could also be to beef up the reservationists since free dining has to be booked by the 26th and they are expecting more calls. Now, don't get me wrong, I'd love it to be because there is a great new offer I can take advantage of, but just playing devil's advocate...

First, as a deal nears the end the availability is so poor and maybe nonexistent, Disney would not beef up their staff for it. The website going through updates is another reason not to believe this; because, it would be very poor timing to do it if Disney thought there would be a surge in bookings for the old deal.

I've never seen more staffing at the end of a deal. We will all find out shortly.

I just checked the site and was able to get the online booking to work fine. I did changes on the inital screen where you input dates and people in your party. They now ask about resort catagory and dining plan.

Bete, what you are saying makes much more sense. Why would they make staff work OT at the very end of the deal?? They'd need to beef up staff as soon as the new deal comes out because I guarantee you people will be calling like crazy! (including me!!) Actually, I just called Disney on Sunday and made my reservations for 12/7-12/12 for Treehouse Villas and the CM asked me if had any promotional codes, and I quietly sobbed and said No... and then he said 'well if you do get one here soon, you can call back and add it to your reservation'. At first I didn't make much of it, but now with what you guys are saying, it sounds like this CM knew of a future discount that would be coming up!! Oh, there's hope!! :wizard:

Here's some pixie dust for all those wishing for a pin! :wizard: I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!!

We leave Jan 1...I just KNOW when the the discounted rates come out they will end right before Christmas and I will have to wait even longer!!:scared:

This is like torture. American Airlines is running some incredible fares from my city to Orlando...the cheapest I've seen in 3 years! However, I'm afraid to book flights and lock myself into specific dates. What if those dates aren't available for the Disney discount and I need to change my vacation? Egad...what's a Disney fanatic to do?

I think I might go crazy waiting for news about free dining.:confused3 I already have the room booked(POP) and am waiting not-so-paitently for something to come out! Last year we booked free dining through Disney Visa about this time. Keep your fingers crossed!

Not to be a "Debbie Downer" - but could to OT be because they plan to open to allow people to book into 2010? Releasing the new 2010 rates & such?

Just a thought...

Hmm... I don't know. Does anyone know if Disney did OT when they opened up bookings into 2009 around this time last year? It is a thought... but we don't like that thought Debbie Downer!! WE WANT A DISCOUNT!!

I just got off the phone with my AAA agent and she said they weren't able to look into 2010 dates today; the Disney system was down. She thinks new pricing will be released for it.

So, you could be right about that being the reason for the extra travel CMs, etc. I still think there will be a promo and this could be co-incidence.

There may be a new promo released and new pricing. There are park ticket prices rumored to go up in August and this could be part of all of this, too.

We will have to sit tight and see what will evolve.

Good luck to all and I'm hoping with all of for a new promo deal this next week.

So if there does turn out to be a new code tomorrow, what time will it be posted do you think? And what time does CRO open?

We're looking at going the last week in November. I've tried to go through this thread but wow! It's really long!

So if I book our hotel and they come out with a promo, I can get a refund or credit?

I'm also looking into a Disney Visa. How much do they normally approve people for?

TIA!

I am joining the December party!! :cool1:
We are going 11/30-12/9 and staying at the BWV!! :thumbsup2
Now to start thinking about where to eat and wait impatiently to make ADR's!!

I am almost afraid to call and ask if we have a pin code, I have been told no so many times...
Will take just about anything to make our 12/12 - 12/19 trip a bit more affordable. We decided to try BLT (cash) since it is brand spankin' new!!! :yay:

What is BLT? I don't see that abbreviation listed on the DIS abbreviations page...sorry for my ignorance. In my world, BLT is still a sandwich!!!!

"Disney reservations CMs have mandatory overtime 3 wks starting tomorrow 4am. Anyone know why?"

This was tweeted to me, forwarded by someone else...

I guess more people are talking about the ressie CM's - sound like pretty strong details there...it is not just the DIS.

What would they need 3 weeks of OT to do? That seems pretty intense.

You think it is just opening FD for the winter?

Rumor is free dining on Thu for Dis Visa cms, gen public Sun. Reg dine plan 4 mod, delux. Cntr Svc plan for value resorts. We could be wrong.

That is coming from tweets from Touring Plans.com....
