WOW is it just me or is early Dec 2009 sounding like it's going to be VERY crowded at Disney?!

I was thinking the same thing. I'm trying to decided whether to go with the first or third week.

IMO, even if they offer Free Dining in December again which will surely encourage more folk to go I do not think it will be so bad. So many folks come to see the Christmas decorations and such so they will not be in the lines and us frequent visitors will not be clogging up things much as we tend to walk on by if the lines are too long (over ten minutes).

The temps will be cooler and so will temperaments.

Most of the kids will still be in school so that will make for fewer people right there. My favorite kind of people but still fewer.

Subscribing. Currently, I have a bounceback in September, but I'm looking perhaps to go for my birthday in December. I'm hoping for a good code (or at least a good AP rate). I got a PIN for the first time for free dining in September, but that's not so good for me since I'm a single traveler - my bounceback rate saves me more than a single DP would.

Hoping to go in December instead!

We booked last week for Nov 29-Dec 4 at WL. No discounts or PIN codes yet but we have our fingers crossed for something in the near future! I have gotten 2-3 PIN code mailers this year already and hope there will be more to come for when we're going. This will be our 5th trip, but our first at Christmas and we just cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a dumb question... you can book a room only rate and get a code after the fact and reduce the price of the room? and how are codes obtained? I am not a seaseoned traveler as you can tell. lol

We are going Dec. 3-6 using our 40% pin code staying at AKL Savannah View. Very excited. We are also going in September with the code. This is our 2nd year that we received the 40% pin code. I hope they keep coming.

Yes you can, so long as the code also offers just a room only discount (sometimes the codes are for packages only- like free dining, the buy 4 get 3 free etc.) No one really knows how to get the PIN codes (those are the household specific codes). Sign up at waltdisneyworld.com, order a vacation planning DVD etc.

General public codes (the ones anyone can use) usually come out in August that cover December so keep an eye out here for that.

We used our 40% pin code and are staying at BLT, in a one bdr. It saved us over $1200.00, enough to pay for our dining plan. We're going the 13th thru the 22nd. Its our favorite time to visit DW. Janice

How busy is it that week? We were thinking of going the week before that but the 40% pin code we have doesn't start until the 13th. Is it starting to get really busy then?

This will be our 3rd time visiting this time of year. We miss Pop Warner, and have low crowds until the last day of the trip. The last day is still not busy. We had our inlaws(one in wheelchair) and brother in law with us on our last trip, and we were still able to see so much without any lines. Its a great time to go. Janice

I stayed at POFQ Dec. 06 same time as Pop Warner no problems with the teams, MK was really busy Sat. pm with alot of teams there. I have Pop Century booked for a suprise girls trip with granddaughter just have to wait for her dad to give permission for her to leave state, you know the divorce thing. Waitn to see if code comes out also.

We had to cancel our June trip due to my oldest deciding to attend summer school in college. Now, we are going Dec. 19 thru 26th at the Wilderness Lodge Club Level with the 40% discount!!!

Pop Warner should be Dec 7-11, which means they will start to filter in 12/5 or so.

Pin Codes are one of life's biggest mysteries! Make sure you are signed up with an account at Disney.com, don't block emails from them and order a planning DVD saying that you haven't been in a couple of years. The rest is up to fate!

So how does this work? If I book a room with tickets and the dining package now at regular price, can I still save later if a PIN comes out that applies to our dates? We're planning on being there Dec 15-27.

Yes, if there is availability at your resort for your type of room. There are only a limited number of rooms for each promotion. You may have to be flexible about where you stay to get the promotion rate.

No one really knows how Disney decides which PINs go to which person or how many go out. There are all sorts of theories, but none of them really hold water.

AP means Annual Pass.
