I always thought I was the type of person that did not hang on to things. My mom is the worst, her house does not have a basement or an attic and she turned her garage into a dining room like 20 years ago. So the only kind of storage she has was a few small crawl spaces. So mom does not hold onto anything. If it does not have a spot, it gets throw out. Needless to say she has a very meticulous house. Now I always thought I inherited this from Mom, the not holding onto a lot of things. I do have her organizationalism and her need to have things in their place, but I apparently hold on to more than I realized. I was going through my closet at her house and was shocked at the things I have found that will now be coming to Disney with us!! So these are my Disney must brings, some are new things, some are relatively new things, and some things are from our last trip. (PS-I was fooling around with the different settings on my camera, which is why the light looks different in some of them)
Lets start at the beginning. Greg and I had so much to bring back the last time we had to invest in another carry on bag for our breakables. I had forgotten about this bag until it was uncovered in a box at Moms. So now it will serve as my carry on. I like that I will be Disney-fied from the second I leave the house for the airport.
This is my Disney water bottle. It was part of the Earth Day promotion (hence Mickey hugging the world) but it was a left over and I got it for a steal. Normally it was $19.50, I know!! But it was marked down and then I got an additional 20% off so it only cost me $7. It is also good for the parks because I know it will not leak in my backpack, it has a screw cap.
Greg is similar but it is an advertisement for some movie. He works for a concessions company that supplies candy and concessions to movie theatres and stadiums (they also do the candy in Blockbuster, Staples, Party City and a few other places like that). Anyway they always get all sorts of movie promotional items and this aluminum water bottle was one of them. YAY FOR FREE WATER BOTTLE!!!
These next several pictures are of my various shirts I will be touring Disney in. This first one is my Mickey Earth Day t-shirt. I thought this would be good to wear when we go to AK as its about conservation and loving the earth. Anyway I got it this past Earth Day to wear when we went to see Earth.
This is my Jack t-shirt, purchased this past summer. I love The Nightmare Before Christmas, one of our favorites. Greg has a Jack shirt too, he doesnt know it yet but we will be wearing them on the same day.
This is my brand new Kermit t-shirt. I am super excited about this one, and its the only one that I have vowed to keep new for the trip. The tags will stay on until its time to pack.
I had forgotten about this shirt. My MIL bought it for me for my shower. I thought it was cute because it says And they lived happily ever after Plus I love Cinderella
And, of course my tie dye Mickey shirt.
These next two are my sweatshirts. The first one I got the last time we were in Disney. It is a childrens size so I got a little bit of a deal on it. And this is the anniversary gift I got from Greg. As I said the trip is the gift but this was so I had something to open
My Mickey watch. This was the first watch I ever owed. I asked Santa for a Mickey watch for Christmas when I was 7. Years later I found it in my Moms jewelry drawer, so I had the band and battery replaced and now its good as new!!
My target $1 section socks. What a steal!! Mickey, Minnie, and Kermit the Frog, to wear with my Kermit shirt of course!!
Muppets change purse for pressed pennies/quarters. I found this at Target before our last trip and it worked as a storage receptacle for my pressed pennies and quarters.
These were being discussed on the Christmas thread and I just had to get us some. They are called Holiday Specs and they give a cool affect to the Osborne Lights. I ordered them through this website
http://www.holidayinnovations.com/Holiday_Specs2.htm They are set up through Pay Pal so you can order with no worries.
To hold our Key to the Kingdom card and our fast passes and our Photo Pass I have purchased these. They were $10 a piece, a little pricey for a retractable ID holder, but they were so cute I couldnt help myself. I have heard that Disney is going green and you no longer use bracelets during PM EMH, you are required to show your resort ID/key before you get on each ride. This will make it a lot easier than having to get it out every time, and I cannot be trusted, things magically fall out of my pocket.
The only thing I have left to purchase for our trip is my gorillapod. I have a fancy camera so I might as well use it for some good night time and fireworks shots. Im holding out to see if it goes on sale anywhere, so far no luck. But other than that, a few toiletries, and some snacks/breakfast foods and then were pretty much set for everything we need. Its really just so exciting, if I could literally start putting things in the suitcase without Greg making fun of me I would. Although he teases me all the time, so whats one more thing right? Greg is excited, but not on the level I am. Hes a reserved sort of person that is excited but not on the level we are. We are a special bread, my friends. So his excitement reaches the peak like the second we get on the plane. Hes more of a technical person, whereas I am more imaginative. So hes hard for him to imagine how much fun something is going to be, hes got to experience it.
Trivia
Day 51: What name did the White Rabbit call Alice? (I know this is a rediculous question, I think Greg was running out of good ones)
Day 50: True or False: In Kilimanjaro Safaris, you board your safari vehicle from the left side.

Cheap Chic Tip: Okay ladies and gentlemen, this is a good one! A jewel so to say. Mickey's Mart in DTD, everything is under $10! Between the two of us we have 7 siblings, 5 nieces and nephews (one more on the way), and another 9 children we buy Christmas gifts for on top of ourselves and our parents. It just adds up to be a lot! We try to keep the children gifts in the $10-$15 range, which is kind of hard and my search for good yet reasonable children gift usually starts in like October. Since we'll be in Disney that's where most if the shopping is getting done. Mickey's Mart will be a lifesaver for us. Plus I am saving myself from post trip/pre holiday stress by shopping in Disney.
PS-If anyone out there has any Cheap Chic tips please feel free to share them. A dollar saved is a Disney dollar!!!
