I have not received my Disney packet yet. Last week, while reviewing the emails have gotten and saved from Disney I noticed that our apartment number was missing from our address. Frantically I logged into our profile at the Disney website and noticed that the number was there. So I called Disney to double check this and the CM said that it was in our profile but not on our reservation but she would add it. I thought this was VERY weird considering I know I would never put our address without the number. I know from past experiences that it will get returned to the sender. Anyway the CM seemed a little unsure about everything and lackadaisical, so I called back and got a very helpful CM who assured me that the apartment number was in there and nothing had be sent out before the change was made. So now were just playing the waiting game
I dont have much Disney news to report, so in order to keep the PTR going I will fill you in on some otherwise boring details of my weekend, but it does pass the Disney waiting time.
I have discovered the joys of
youtube!!! You can find Disney shows on there that have been on the Travel Channel, and such. I must admit that Billie inspired me when she posted the Unwrapped for everyone. Thanks Billie!!!! Shout out to you girl!!! After the Unwrapped there were other Disney show suggestions. You have helped me get my fix, and for that I thank you!! There are privet videos on there of peoples vacations too, but I dont have the stomach for that sort of thing as I am somewhat prone to motion sickness. (not really but things shaky cameras or sitting in the back seat for a long time make me nauseous)
We painted our bedroom this past weekend and it looks awesome!! I am now in the details stage of it (re-hang our pictures: cost $0, a headboard that I plan on making: cost minimal $, some sort of lighting for that side of the room cost: as cheap as I can find it, and a curio cost: hopefully not a lot!!). The lighting and the curio are going to be subject to my new game: whats the best deal I can get on something I like. I have found a few cheap but chic options at Ikea. I must say I do love this store for cheap treasures. Not the best made stuff, but is good for a just for now things, gently used things, and decorational things. Ive looked on Craigslist for a curio, but the problem is that I need something small, as there is not a lot of room in the corner I want to put it in. The headboard idea actually came from one of my magazines, its essentially a piece of ply wood covered with quilting batting and fabric to give you a headboard. Cheap and actually looks really nice once finished. We eventually plan to get real bedroom furniture, its just not in the cards right now and I need to make things pretty before then.
So once the painting was done we started to clean and I just got the cleaning bug in me. I really got into the deep cleaning, pulled all the couch cushions off and got in the cracks, vacuumed under all the furniture, pulled the burners off the stove and cleaned those, ect. Once I got going, I just couldnt stop. But when I was finished everything was so nice and clean and my body ached. So I did what every good woman should do after she scrubbed her entire house: I went shopping!!!
I have been to 2 Walmarts and I cannot find the Kermit PJs!! So I bought us some new sheets to go with our newly painted room. I was totally bummed that I could not find the Kermie PJs, but I did find a travel day t-shirt and now my travel outfit is planned!! Its a bunch of Mickeys (with different expressions) walking around the world, so cute!! So I will wear that with my favorite comfy jeans. They are a dark wash which gives a nice slimming effect and they are a little bit big and stretchy, but thats what makes them comfy and good for travel. Plus its nothing a belt cant fix!! And I will layer a long sleeve shirt under my t-shirt and I have my super soft, red velour, zip up, hoody. LOL I planned this all out in
Walmart as I was standing there with my t-shirt. It just came to me like a vision, so I knew it was to be!!!
Ooooo I almost forgot. So I read in one of the December threads that sometimes, especially at night, its cold when you sit on the ground for a parade. So then I was thinking okay well maybe a blanket to sit on, but a blanket is so big and bulky and I know neither one of us would want to carry it around. So I was trying to think of something that would serve the same purpose but not be so big to carry. And that is how I came up with the idea of out little butt blankets. Yes, they are exactly what they sound like. I went to the fabric store and got some fleecy fabric and cut them into squares big enough to sit on. I doubled ours up, just for extra cushion and warmth (and because I wanted another excuse to break out my sewing machine). You dont have to get super fancy, fleece does not fray, so if youre not into sewing just cut a piece large enough to sit on and youre good to go!! Cozy booties while you watch the parades!!
Thats about it, nothing overly exciting but the train is moving along. This week is a short work week. WOO HOO!! FOUR DAY WORK WEEK!!!!! Were going to the Christmas Carol Train Tour. Im so excited, I will let you all know how it goes. Plus were going to visit the World of
Disney store in NYC. I have never been, I know totally tragic!!! We should have a nice day, were going with the in-laws, also HUGE Disney fans!!
Cheap Chic Tip: I love this one because it works for the Holidays too. Courtesy of themouseforless.com - if you have a list of things you need to buy for your Disney vacation, split them up by week. Add one or two items on your list per week to your grocery shopping and put them away until it is time to pack. That way you won't have to worry about laying out a big chuck right before you go away. I plan on adding a few things to the grocery list for Thanksgiving so that I wont have to lay out a ton of money right before the big day to cook for the holiday.
