December 2005 Info, Code, Dining, & Special Package Watch! :)

Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know that I added some links to the first post in this thread that may be helpful to December vacationers. If you know of any others that I should add, please let me know! :flower:

Can I join in too??? :goodvibes We're going Nov 30-Dec 5, but we haven't booked anything yet. That's because I have a few questions. First-should I go ahead and book now, and then try to apply a code later? We were going to do room only-if I do room only can I go back and change it to a package if/when they come out w/ the free dining for Dec? On one hand I'd like to go ahead and book, so I am at least assured that we have a room. But I don't want to mess anything up, to where I'm not able to apply a discount later. Any advice?? TIA!

We're arriving on Dec. 23 and staying until New Years Eve. No AAA rates for us, unfortunately, as it's holiday season. In fact, no discounts expected....though we would love to get anything that would lower the cost. Right now, it's DH, DS15, DS13 and me at the CSR, standard room, rack rate. Thinking of buying one AP if AP code comes out for December. In the past, Dec. 23rd check-in dates have been included in this discount code. Keeping my fingers crossed! Nice to compare notes with others going in December. Anyone planning for Christmas week? :earsgirl:

Hey!! one more to the list. I'm booked for Nov 29 - Dec 08 at OKW 2 brm villa for a group of 8 (me, DH, DD3, DS4, DS6, DM, DMIL, DG). I booked through DVC renting points and I saved around $2,000.00. I still have to buy the flight tickets and the WDW tickets.

First of all, if you've never visited WDW in early December/right after Thanksgiving, you're in for a surprising treat!!

Holiday music and atmosphere :wizard: , lower rack rates :cool1: , a greater possibility of discount codes :jumping1: , cool weather :cutie: , and virtually no crowds :ssst: make this one of the best times to visit!

DH and I spent our honeymoon  in the World from 12/1-12/13 2002, and that ended up being our favorite time!

We will most likely be visiting WDW from 11/27-12/3. We're interested in AP rates and general public codes.

I'd like to do a split stay with AKL or WL and another deluxe resort.

chewysmom-- You can go ahead and book now for a room-only reservation so you know you have a room. Then you can call back when a code comes out and try to get that applied. Hope this helps!

 :bounce: :mickeybar Happy Planning Everyone!! :mickeybar :bounce:

We have a great deal with my TA right now for early December. :) We have POR for $89/night from Dec 3 to the 6th and then the Poly for $234 from the 6th to the 10th. That saves us $150.53 off of rack for POR and $312.20 off of rack at the Poly. :rotfl:

I'm taking my girlfriend princess: to WDW for her Christmas present, and we're just saps for the lights, decorations, and fake snow...

You got what seems like a great rate for POR, which is my favorite moderate resort. If I may ask, did you have a PIN code or anything special to get it? That's exactly the price and location I'd like.

Thanks!
DK

My DH parent's are taking us December 7-11. I thought it would be a good idea to add the dining package and thought since my in-laws are paying for hotel, tickets, and airfare we would buy the dining package for all of us. So I called this morning to see if we could add it onto their reservations and the castmember said yes but if there were discounts applied to the room charges you aren't allowed to. Now my FIL bought an AP so when the AP rates come out we were going to use them. Do you think if they do extend the free dining package to December they will allow Annual Passholder's using the discount rate to add that on for free. This might be confussing I hope everyone understands what I am saying.

Supposedly, free dining can't be used with other discounts. What I've seen some do is make a new reservation and only have MYW park tickets for one day then use their AP's for the rest of their stay for park entrance.

Any detail on the weather and crowds 1st two weeks of Dec?

Nope, it's not a PIN or anything like that, it is a group rate. You just needed to give the TA a code to qualify for the rate. It's not a Disney code but a code for the agency to identify the group rate. A friend of a friend recommended my TA. A group of her friends are planning a trip and this TA got them a great group rate. They had one of the All Stars for $59, POR for $89, something at the WL but I can't remember the rate and Poly for $234. She sent me the info about it and I requested a quote with that code. I asked if my room has to be blocked with theirs or if I have to do anything with them and they said no. I guess they can't advertise the group stuff so you just need to know the code to ask for it. The TA knows I'm not part of the group but said the members are allowed to invite friends to come too so not being a member would be fine and that not there were several non members going.

I don't know if I can post the info so I'll PM it to you. They also have meal vouchers for the group so I'll save some there too!

We have room only at the FTW Cabins with AAA discount from 12/3 to 12/10. Considering buying an AP to get better room discount. CM said should be announced sometime in September. Have already purchased all but one ticket from Ticket Mania so the package is not an option. The dining plan looks great, especially if it's free. There is something to be said for waiting on decision making.

Count us in! We are praying for some sort of a deal outside of the basic Value Season rates with a AAA discount. I would even be willing to buy an AP, if the deal was right. We are planning to go to MVMCP on 12/11 with all of Gabby's family and will be able to stay for 4 to 5 more nights beyond that, depending on the deals that Disney offers. I haven't booked anything yet, in hopes that they will offer a wonderful deal because bookings are (crossing fingers) low. I know that most of the deals that they offer can be retroactively applied, but I worry that if too many of us book in advance they won't offer any incentives. Free dining would be a wonderful savings for us. I actually sat here the other night crunching numbers on how much money we would spend on each meal at various assumed dining spots around WDW during our trip. I had it down to the tips and everything. I figured that MYW will save us only a little money off of what we would normally spend......maybe $75, but every little bit helps!

I wouldn't even be attempting this trip this year, except that Gabby's mom has really bad health issues. Gabby really wants to go to MVMCP with her family as a group to get what just might be the last family photo taken of them as a whole group. So, I am moving Heaven and Earth to make it happen. We just bought a house, so all the WDW vacation money is taking away from things we would both love to do with the house. But, sometimes in life, we adjust our priorities. I don't think that Gabby or I could live with ourselves if we chose a new refrigerator and kitchen countertops over this trip, especially if something does happen to her mom.

So, since I refuse to use a credit card ever again, it's save like crazy time at the expense of darn near everything else in my life. lol At least Gabby will never be able to say that I didn't try. Maggie

We have reservations from December 17-26. Two nights at Polynesian and 7 nights at YC. Had to do it this way (only 2 nights at Polynesian) to stay in value season. I'm booked at the "low" value season rate of $294. Really hoping for a code to bring it down about $100 a night! So excited - first trip for my 3 boys 12, 10 and 6.

Thanks for setting up this thread.

Hey yo everybody....Just wanted to let ya'll know I called tonite to book our stay 11/27-12/3 and I asked the agent at CRO (Ruben - he was excellent btw) about the possibility for another free dining code for the nov/dec value period....he said they can't be for sure but, this one was going so well that he thought the chances were 60-40 for another free dining code then. He said he was pretty sure something public would be offered dining code or resort code. Just thought everyone might like that glimmer of hope.....please..please....please let us have a dining code. :wave2:

Thanks for giving us a little hope! I talked to a CM when I was making adjustments to my reservation a few days ago, and she said that she didn't believe that they were just offering the free dining because of the hurricane season. She felt it was to draw people in for the value season and she believed that we would be offered something similar in December. She didn't know anything "official", but this was just her impression. She was a very knowledgeable CM who loved her job, and it showed. Maybe there's hope for us yet! :flower:

We're going Dec 2-9th. Grandparents staying at the campgrounds, we're at SSR.

Does anyone know if the free MYW dining is available for the campgrounds also? (I know it's not offered for Dec yet, but just checking :))

We're planning to go Dec 3-10. Our hope is to stay at the Floridian. I've booked a room at Shades of Green as a backup. I'm hoping SOG fills up and offers an overflow. If not, maybe there will be an AP code. I've never been there in December and cannot wait to see the decorations.
