Hey, Lisa. FE stands for Fish Extender. People make what look like Disney decorated card hangers or shoe organizers to hang from the fish outside the stateroom door, usually with a named pocket for each occupant. Then, while cruising, others on the FE list come by and drop gifts in (such as pins or magnets)! This is a simple explanation, but if you search fish extender on google or even just etsy.com you'll see some pictures. Feel free to write back and forth until you get to 10; it will go quickly, and then you'll make 3 so far on the list! Hopefully, we'll get all 15 who've been on the board for this cruise so far.

There's another family traveling with us, and I think they'd participate. I'll check with them. They're at WDW this week--we were all supposed to be on the 10/20 Magic sailing, so we've rescheduled to the 12/18 trip. We can't wait!

The FE is a lot of fun, you get LOTS of goodies!!

I also had another quick question - is anyone doing any excursions in Key West? Or are you just going to walk around town? Didn't know if it was worth booking anything.

Sorry you must be so disappointed about the cancellation, Lisa. Key West & Castaway are a good itinerary, though, so hopefully it will make a nice pre-holiday for your family.
For the FE, plan on at least 1 gift per participating stateroom. For a smaller list, though, people sometimes bring multiple gifts, or age-based gifts for adults and kids. It's really up to your packing space (although some people ship a box of FE gifts to the port), creativity, time, and budget.

Slindamood has been posting an updated list of the information shared on this board; thanks Suzanne! I volunteered to do the FE list, but I've only had 2 people PM me the relevant information (such as at least cabin number). So, I'm not really sure if FE is a go or not. Anyone who wants to do it, please PM be by 11/1 so we know if we have enough people to participate. I really want to do it, but as everyone knows, advance notice to order/make/buy the gifts is needed. Thanks!

The girls have a week off at the end of November so what ever we don't have done by then, they can finish. My mom has been working on her FE gifts and she's almost 1/2 done. Normally I have her help us with our gifts but since she's going with us this time, she has to make her own. She doesn't have a fish hanger yet so she still has to make one. I can't believe tomorrow is November. Where has the time gone?
Who has been on a less than 7 day sailing? Do we not get a character breakfast? Summer said she thought that was only for 7 or more day sailings. We do get pirate night don't we? I just assumed that we get both but now I'm not so sure.

DCL tells me that Pirate night is the second night - Castaway Cay day. Has anyone heard anything different, as we know - answers change with the wind.

Yeah for Pirates Party! Boo for no Character Breakfast. We live in Orange County (about 15 minutes from Disneyland) and some times we go to Goofy's Kitchen in down town Disney at the Hotel to have brunch with the characters. I guess we'll just have to make a trip there soon.

I was just looking at pictures from our cruises the past few years and getting really excited. I wish I knew how to post pics. There are some really cute ones of the kiddos last Christmas when they made their gingerbread houses. They also took one with Mickey and his Gang all dressed up for Christmas with the Kiddos and their Gang. There were 17 total in the picture. The kids already knew each other before we sailed from e-mails and texts and since it was 14 nights they really became good friends. It seems like just yesterday.

Yes the kids are really excited about Pirate Night... we bought Jake and Izzy costumes for the kids to dress up in for Pirate Night!!

Awesome, Manuel! You are family 5 on the FE list! And, wow ... I think you have a 16 hour flight, right? Hopefully, y'all find the cruise worth the travel. Will you be doing anything else (such as the parks or FL beaches) before returning home?
