December 15, 2012 A Yo-HO-HO-HO Holiday Fantasy!

Soon it will be 1 year to go. But, I'm not counting either like all of youn's!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Grown kids - Uuuggggggggghhhhh!!!:scared1: Not sure - but our daughter and grandson may have backed out on this cruise. This will be the 3rd time she has done this to us. You would think we would learn - wouldn't you!!!:confused3

I hope they haven't! I wish that we could cruise with family, but that would be a disaster!!! LOL! I do hope to do some with a few close friends one of these days. We have friends that love Carnival cruises, and we may join them in the future. Our kids get a long great, and the DHs have plenty in common to keep them busy.

:rotfl2: When it comes to family, I have cruised with my mom and (on a different cruise) with my grown nephew. My DH will NEVER cruise with me! He did England to NY decades ago (non-Disney of course). He says "Never again!"

I don't get along with my sister (older than me) enough to EVER sail with her. Several years ago when I was a Disney Specialist TA, she was my guest for a lunch and tour aboard the Magic in port at PC. We got to the Walt suite and she proclaimed that was where she would HAVE to stay if she ever cruised. :rolleyes1

Wow! I'd love the Walt suite, but I'm guessing pics are as close as I will ever get, and that's ok by me. I love being on the ship enough to take most any stateroom. I'm not in there that much anyway, unless I'm asleep!

That was when the baby grand piano was still in there. I don't think it is anymore. But when I saw that (and I used to play piano among other things so was imagining myself doing so in that suite - lol), I started thinking, "Gee - Wouldn't that seriously disturb the neighbors?" :rotfl2:

But alas, so far I have not stayed in it.

I think I may have walked by the Walt Disney Suite "once" on the Magic, that's as close as I ever got!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:
It would be nice to stay in there just once to see how it would be, but unless DW and I hit the lottery we will be happy with our verandah staterooms. We do enjoy going out and looking at the ocean as we are sailing. Something peaceful and relaxing about looking out at the ocean.:thumbsup2

All this talk of the Walt Suite!! What I wouldn't give to be in there now!! Instead I am cleaning Mom's suite(aka bedroom,) Lee's Suite, my brother's old suite which is going to be the guest room/ My office for my home based part time business...which brings me to...I have an appointment at 10:00 am guess I need a shower and to get ready to go. I cant wait for my cruise!! On the other side...I better get busy...I would like to have my cruise paid off by Jan. 31,2012

We've never stayed in the Walt Suite but we did manage to score the Roy Suite as a paid upgrade at port on the Magic's first trip to Tortola! :thumbsup2 So never say never!

Amazing the stories I've heard of people being able to upgrade to either the Roy or Walt suites at the port! It does happen. But I am sure it still takes bucks....just less than booking it beforehand.

Just wanted to pop in to say hi to everyone! :wave2:

Hope you all are having a nice Friday. I know it's a few days away, but would like to wish everyone a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving this year.
(I always wanted to be the first to wish that to everyone - but somehow I always come in too late. That's why I'm so early this year!!!)

Darn, you beat me:sad1:. I am sitting at lunch watching it snow out side. I am ready for our cruise. It has snowed a couple of feet already in the passes and the Ski season opens today. I am not ready.

Kevin.

I was coming in to ask if everyone has their plan/preperations for Thursday? We are going to have a low-key dinner here at home and then head out to see the Muppets sometime that day.

It is going to be a busy holiday season here, followed by basketball for our 5-year-old. That should be interesting! When she went for her evaluation I told her to go get shorts and a t-shirt. She came back with her 3-tiered skort with a peasant top. Not exactly what I meant! LOL! I think that she will probably be more of a cheerleader than a player!

Have a great week everyone!

My mom doesn't want me to cook a "real" Thanksgiving dinner this year. Her birthday is the day before. I think on T-day, IF it doesn't rain, we MAY just go to WDW, then maybe stop at Perkins for Thanksgiving dinner for the two of us.

I really love preparing Thanksgiving dinner, and especially like all the leftovers, but with my mom being such a light eater (diabetic) and my DH being 2800 miles away, it does make more sense to dine out.

It has been a while since I posted on this thread but i was wondering if anything has been decided on the fishextender gift exchange. Are there any other senior citizens going?

Greetings, Happy Goofy! As soon as we have a definite volunteer organizer for the FE, I will post their user name on the cruiser list page of our cruise website and participants can PM that person through the Dis. Meanwhile, the cruiser list is arranged according to stateroom number and grouped by whether or not participating in the FE, so that should help a little.

This cruise being over a year from now, a lot can change between now and then. I imagine we will have some cancellations as well as surely many more cruisers joining us. I don't participate in FEs, but I would think even if we don't have anyone in charge of organizing the FE until 6 months prior to sailing, that should be plenty of time, shouldn't it? The April cruise I am on doesn't have an FE organizer yet either. :upsidedow

I've done the FE list for our last two cruises and don't mind organizing for this one. You can add my contact info to the website (if no one else has volunteered yet).

Finally got a weekend with no homework so took advantage for some 'me' time. I haven't been on the Dis in a couple weeks, school and work are kicking my butt this semester. We are leaving on the 28th for Disney and I so need this vacation, just hubby and I!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Done. I don't believe anyone else volunteered unless I missed it. Thanks! It is noted in the info above our cruiser list, with your user name linked to your Dis profile page so you can be contacted.
