We have some sad news from our cabin.....

We recently found out that our DD's boyfriend can't make the cruise after all. He makes his own schedule in the meat dept at Target, so he figured he was all good to go when he paid for his cruise.

Last week Friday, he broke the news to us that even tho he makes his own schedule, because he is a team lead at the store, no team leads can take off time right before xmas.

So, I had to make flight changes this morning for his tix, and saw that the flight just before ours on Saturday dropped $60/pp. The good news on that is that I switched us to the earlier flight, so we arrive a bit earlier.

Next up is I have to get on the phone with DVC and see how to note his change without changing all our cabin info, etc....Wish me luck!

Yup, he was totally bummed...

We've got it all squared with DVC. The amount he would get back at this stage isn't worth us losing the larger cabin, so we will just leave him on the ressie and just tell them at the port he couldn't make it... thanks for the pixie dust!

Very new to this site and starting to feel a bit overwhelmed. It all started with wanting to find some magnets or designs for our cabin door. Now I find myself looking for pillowcases and trying to figure out what a fish extender is.

This is our second cruise and I remember being in awe of all the doors that we decorated and wondering how they made all of those things. Now I know just a enough to be dangerous but still on the confused side.

Can somone give a newbie a crash course? Do you have to be on a list to participate in the fish extender gifting? And since this is a holiday cruise, what is this about Secret Santas?? So many questions, I know, I apologized to all. Just quickly becoming a DIS Board addict.

Hello....best to get onto the FaceBook site....contact LuvEeyore and she will get you established onto our FB site. There is a Fish Extender list; it closed out on Oct 15th. But, there were a few new families wanting to join the FE - and they started a "X" (others were an A, B or C) and each one had about 18 cabins on their listing.

There is also a Secret Mickey since we are so close to XMAS....if you have interest in that; you only purchase for one cabin and then of course someone else is "buying" gifts for your cabin. (not sure if this one is still open or not - again contact LuvEeyore as she has been working on both lists.)

Hope that helps a bit; we buy magentic paper from Office Max and created different 8.5X11 door magnets in the past. It works well, but the magnetic paper is a bit expensive. We put one out for Pirate Night; Formal Night, etc. But; you can do just one up for your door as well.

I sent FB messages to both LuvEeyore (Lee Price) and Linda Ann Roon who helped on both the FE and SM listing. I told them that you probably can't Private Message (PM) yet since you are still earning your ears....if you post to 10 people's items; you will then be able to PM. (I had to learn that one too!).

Also; the group has several "meet" and greets and even a "pretty in pink" girls champagne adventure. Once you get onto FB you can see all the dates and times. There is a world-wide men club too....think it is called that anyway!

Hi Heather (doylehd); Lee wrote back and said that Santa Mickey is not available; but she can add you to the "X" group for Fish Extenders if you want to participate in that. Either way; you can still get into all the "group activities"....looks like lots of fun to be had. And, I've been working on my FE's past weekend (and weeks prior to figure out what or how I am making -LOL). I have 3 weeks of travel right before our cruise; so I have NO CLUE how to get everything done. But, looking forward to it!

Lights for the doors! How cool! If we could find some battery powered ones so we did not have to worry about finding a power supply! Let me know what you find!

Most stores carry battery powered lights. I know Target and Walmart carry them. I buy the really powerful magnets and glue the 3M command hooks onto the magnets.

I work just one day this week boss / Mr Prez!!! Don't know how in the world I can keep up this hectic pace!!! I've got to start slowing down, and not work so much!!!!

Glad you get a nice 4 day week-end there Mr Prez. Donna and I usually put up the Christmas tree Friday after Thanksgiving. Got some more STUFF to decorate the inside of our home. It takes us just about the whole day to finish decorating, even with Emily's help. Got most of our gifts for the family wrapped already.............won't have time after we get back from the cruise to wrap.

I would like to all of our new cruisers joining us on the cruise. So glad ya'll could join us.

If anyone is decorating for the Holidays- I heard that only battery operated Christmas lights are allowed, plus only magnets on the doors so keep that in mind.

Wow- I don't check for a day and..... Welcome to the new cruisers. I think the other posts have covered most things, but so everyone knows here too..... As we are less than 30 days from sailing, the updating of the lists had to go back to luveeyore (lee) and I am just posting the PDF formatted list to fb.

Sorry the post is so boring looking, but I'm doing this on the train home from work (Chicago) on my phone.

It looks like the new cruisers have enuf posts now to pm luveeyore, so that's good.
