a busy day, again. hoping to get some housework done and the dreaded :laundy: this afternoon.

:yay::yay: 9 days and we'll be on board!

I always have worries that i'm going to get a bad cabin whenever I cruise. Does anyone know how many cabins are still available that I could "switch to" if the need were to arise?? Having this info would put me much more at ease. I really don't care what Cat, i'm looking more for number like 2, or 20, 200?

thanks

You can go online to the disneycrusie website and check availability in the different categories. Just pull up the stateroom selector for an available category and it'll give you an idea. KCashner has been checking off and on, and her last report was that the TA and CM discounts appear to have effectively filled our sailing as most rooms were only booking in GTY status, though the fact that a category is available to book at all for your party size in an indication that there is still room available.

Have you received your room assignment?

None of use can answer your question as we don't have access to the DCL computer system.

Currently only cat 4 and 5 are available for cabin selection, but all categories are available for purchase at gty status. When the cruise is "fully" booked there are always some cabins remaining open. I know this because on one cruise listed at port as full, we had a problem in our cabin. After having maintenance men in my cabin on 2 consecutive days for several hours each time, I called GS and asked if the offending item (the flip out couch) could just be replaced. The response was the this could only be done when in port, but we were moved to another cabin of the same category. OH YEAH...where did that cabin come from if the ship was "fully booked?" It was actually right down the hall from where we were.

I can easily pull up 8 cat 4s and 8 cat 5s available for booking.

How do you define a "bad" cabin? There are only very slight differences between cabin categories (other than the obvious inside, window, or balcony). People do have preferences about location, but the reports of "noisy" cabins are greatly exaggerated on the boards. The cabins are all well maintained, and efforts are made to fix anything that isn't perfect. I've had FAR more issues/difficulty with my "neighbors" than with any cabin issue--snoring (the beds are a wall apart in some categories), noisy tweens in the halls, etc.

To answer your questions. I guess i'm more worried about the people not the ship itself. I just have to keep telling myself that GS would help me out if I was having a problem with rowdy neighbors. Any reassurance from your guys would be greatly appreciated :)

If your neighbors are violating ship policies while disturbing you, GS will issue them "gentle" reminders about the rules (no loud noises in halls at night, etc.) If it is "innocent" noise that is driving you crazy (like snoring), you might be offered a different cabin.

On one cruise several years ago we were on 5 aft. There's a CM entrance/exit right there. The CD came out of the secret passageway and was delighted to recognize us from a previous cruise. She heard a screaming baby, and asked if that was disturbing us. I said that it wasn't pleasant, but....She instantly offered to have us moved! I suggested that the child had probably had a rough day (it was embarkation day) and the if it was a problem that night, I'd let her know. She repeated her offer to move us if it was a problem that night!

So, yes, they will work with you sometimes...if there is room available on the ship, etc.

we once had a LOT of cabin noise at night. they said the galley was above us and they were moving things (at 3 am!). I specifically asked about moving at least one of our cabins and were told nothing available. They brought us an air purifier to be a white noise machine and sent some trinkets to the kids. would have rather had a quiet room. still loved the cruise.

:thumbsup2
Good for you! We are having a cruise meet at 3:00 at the Promenade if you want to meet up with everyone.

There is also a celebration dance at the Disco later the same night some time after late dinner.

So its official i AM definitely going . made up my mind last night..

Now, for the excursions...

We're doing Stingray City with Captain Marvins, I'm pretty sure Pamrob and our families have room for one more.

I still am undecided about Cozumel. I really want to go to the cool beach everyone was talking about. They only let 100 people in, what's it called again? I promise to save the info this time :)
