Well, shoulda started
this six weeks ago! I broke out the new snorkeling gear and tried to get my DD, almost 4, to try it in the bath tub. Screaming fits ensued, with me getting ever more frustrated. She said she couldn't breathe out of her nose. I told her that she's not SUPPOSED to breathe out of her nose. Round and round.
Tonite, I put on my mask and snorkel so I could stick my head in the bathtub and show her. Low and behold, I couldn't breathe through my nose, and it was a very uncomfortable, panicky feeling!

Sorry, DD! I haven't snorkeled in almost fifteen years, didn't remember it being quite so weird to master.
So, now we're practicing breathing with the snorkel with the mask off first. We're going to cough up some money to gain access to an indoor pool this weekend (probably a local hotel) to practice with vests. Hope it works, I REALLY want to snorkel!
Meanwhile, the clip that holds my snorkel to my mask broke first thing tonite, so it's a good thing we're giving our equipment a dry run, or a wet run, as it were.
And, if that weren't scary enough, DD started having accidents a few weeks ago, after months of perfect potty performance.

I read all the potty training re. kid's club threads, and I feel a lot better. There were lots of suggestions on how to help your child avoid accidents, and most people said you get one "freebie" before they boot you out. Still, the thought of no kids club at all....

I want at least one peaceful hour at the grown-ups' pool!
Bought two nice, new novels today, less than two weeks left! We're missing ALL the parties, cub scouts, dance, DS school, DD school, and to my surprise, I don't mind and neither do they. In Cub Scouts tonight, they announced the party plans, and DS raises his hand promptly and shouts out happily, "I can't be there!"

Maybe it will be an extra bonus to skip all that "small stuff" this year and just enjoy the season.
Rambling.... sorry....

But, ......
