Wristbands are ordered :thumbsup2

I think I will hang on to them until the DIS meet. That way I don't have to sit in the terminal and not be able to hang out with my family.

If anyone is not going to the DIS meet, let me know, I can even mail them to you before hand.

Awesome! Thanks for taking care of it for us. What did you end up going with as to wording and sizing? And do you want payment in advance or onboard the ship?

Either way, if you want me to mail me money, I'll stick your bracelets in the mail. I thought it was fun one year when we got to wear them as we were getting on.

I'm happy to send out payment beforehand if ya want. Just lemme know. I think we had 3 kids 2 adult. Also, I just paid for my FE (I too purchased on ebay).

Sure, that's fine, especially if you want them to wear the day we board. Less to carry, right?

I called the CC number at DCL today to ask some questions. I asked if there was any options to move our room to another Cat 10, and she said she didn't see anything available in that category. (I did see two Cat 10 rooms showing as available online, but neither were in a location that seems any better than the location we were assigned on Deck 1 so I didn't push the argument.) But she seemed very receptive to the possibility of switching, so that was unexpected.

I inquired about the cost of upgrading to a Cat 9, and it would be about $900 more than what we paid for the 12, so I declined since I'm sure we could do better at the port.

Just for grins, I inquired about the availability of a suite. She said there's a Cat 3 available for about $10,000 more than we paid for the 12, and asked if I wanted to move to that one. I declined of course. But good to know there is at least 1 suite available at the moment!

Wow! Last time I priced out a Cat 3 suite it was about $8000 for us. Granted that was before we had the 2nd child, but can she really cost $4000?? We ended up paying $8000 total for the Roy suite last December and I was pretty satisfied with that, along with the $5000 total we paid for a Cat 3 suite on our Dec 2005 cruise. Add those two amount together, and that's what they're asking for the Cat 3 now.

We've noticed that this year with all the discounts, the price of the suites seems to have increased significantly. Of course, that might explain why for the first time they are seeing suites available for upgrade at the port. On the May 30 sailing, the cost to upgrade from a booked cat 12 to a cat 3 was quoted at $2900. Upgrades at the port are per cabin, not per person.

I just checked...cat 9 is now showing as a gty. There are 7 or more staterooms showing as available in 4-8.

Yesterday's organization of the various Dream threads was a mess and it took awhile for a mod to step in and get things organized. I and several others I think just assumed that Lisa (lbgraves) would be handling it like she did for the 2011 bookings. When she didn't post anywhere I went looking and realized that she hasn't posted since 10/20 and her posts no longer indicate she's a Moderator or anything.

So I'm curious. Is she just on vacation, or did I miss some drama along the way? I saw a post by TnRobin asking if the threads should be merged and she hinted that there had been some displeasure at the prior merger of threads. Anyone know anything??

Could some one tell me when is the last day to sign up for the fish extender exchange?

I think it was November 14th. Pamrob has reminded me several times, but due to the nature of my brain....:lmao:....I have forgotten again. Maybe it was the 12th....30 days before departure.....:confused3...See, told you I have no brain.

Okay, I just found it on Yahoo group. It's Nov. 15th. Told you I was probably wrong....:lmao:

I've been reading through 56 pages of posts. Lots of information.
This is our first family cruise. I will be traveling with my husband, DS 12, DD7, and DD 3. Our party also includes in-laws elsewhere on the ship. I was considering the FE thing. Could you give me an approximate number of FE participants on this cruise? I'm still interested but undecided.

So far we have 14 cabins participating. Appears to be 25 adults, and 22 children if my quick count is correct.

WOw, no. I like Lisa. Hope she's not gone.

Welcome GoBison! We're a small group compared to some. One FE exchange had like 67 cabins. You can do a gift per cabin, per person or a combination.

I'm doing a gift for cabin (adults) and because there aren't too many kids, giving them something just for them. I'm giving a scrapbook something or other...lol....so, the kids wouldn't be thrilled. So I've put together baggies of treats. Just my idea, but there are lots of ways to do it.

We've had given to us a magnet for our door as a gift, elaborate things and easy things. It is totally up to you, your time, and budget. Basically it's all in fun, and really fun for the kids to go racing back to your room to see what was left for them.

Check out the FE threads off the main board. Lots of ideas, and people have posted pictures of all the things they've either made, or received on their FE exchange. :woohoo:

I got the first proof back for the bracelets...it was wrong. So, as soon as I get a correct version, I'll post.

GoBison, another fun thing, the rubber bracelets. Even my teenagers love them as a momento of our fun vacation.

I did too. A knowledgeable voice of reason. However, it's possible that from 10/20, she's just on a 2 week vacation. Would one of the other moderators know?

It's possible, but then I don't understand why she's no longer a Moderator. Her siggie and picture is gone from all her posts, so you can't see whether's she's on a cruise or vacation or anything.

You're probably right then, if there is no siggie, picture and photos.

Huh? That's too bad. I hope all is well with her.

Lisa was "fired" as a moderator. I made a couple inquiries and no one seems to be saying much. The most I got was that she was "too strict" or "too controversial." The same person did praise her organizational skills and the work that she did with the pricing of the 2011 cruises. She's been gone for a couple weeks, so the moderators knew that she wouldn't be organizing the Dream info.

Frankly, I liked her, and I'm sorry to see her gone.
