December 11, 2010 7 Night Western Magic (Part DEUX)

I checked on mine last night since I was hoping to get my son and his girlfriend into brunch also at the 75 days out and there was no availability either.

When I looked at their reservations, no brunch was available.

When I went in under my own reservation then yes there was brunch available and even at the time that I wanted but only for tables of 3 or 4 :confused3

So I thought, maybe since I already have brunch booked for the 3 of us (me, husband and mom) then maybe I can get the other two booked in under mine.

Put the reservation thru and now my husband, son and his girlfriend are booked into brunch and my mother and I have been cancelled out :sad2:

Oh, well. Guess I will get it straightened out onboard the ship if they don't open smaller tables before then.

So Inkmahm, I think the deal was that they were only booking table for 3 or 4 and if you tried to get one with a reservation of two people, it wouldn't work.:confused3

I don't think so because I WANTED a table for 4 but all I could see was a table for 1 or 2 under my own reservation number. First choice was to add my inlaws to our reservation but I couldn't do that. So I thought I'd be able to book a separate brunch reservation for them and then just ask to have the 4 of us seated together. But under their reservation number, brunch wasn't available at all. Very odd.

Interesting, that is exactly the opposite of what was available for me when I looked.:confused3

I called DCL because I thought it was all weird too and their explaination is that they open a particular # of reservations (not by number of people or tables but, for instance 90 reservations total). Once 90 reservations are made then the brunch closes to everyone EXCEPT the people who have booked one of the 90. The 90 can be switched between ANY of the available spots, for instance if there are 300 possible times/dates to have brunch, the 90 will continue to be able to access all 210 that are left. That doesn't explain why you were able to switch people out or why one person sees 3-4 seater tables and others see 1-2 seater tables.
I personally think there is a huge glitch in the program and DCL doesn't see the pattern or enough people haven't complained about the SPECIFICS of the problem (when people call DCL they are saying "I didn't get a brunch" vs saying other people on my cruise are able to book and change their brunch but I was never even able to access it.)

But what is also strange is that when I switched our reservation, I expected half of it to stay the same.

Our original reservation was changed to one of the same guests and two different ones.

That only affects one table. But after I did all that it no longer showed any tables left.

So what happened to that table for 3 or 4 that was there when I originally started :confused3 Unless of course someone came along while I was doing mine and snatched it up?

Are you able to use it even if you have already booked?

Hi, Everyone!

We are first time cruisers! :cool1:

The family includes me, DH, DD(9), and DS(6). We are in the process of figuring this all out! We took care of one thing on the "to do" list: we have a reservation at Palo for dinner! We are flying down to MCO (flights are booked) but still need to find a place to stay the night before and when we get back plus transportation.

Also, we have been working on the excursions. Still debating whether to go out on our own or book thru DCL. We would like to visit Stingray City so if there is any advice from the veterans, we would appreciate it!

This forum is great. We are looking forward to meeting everyone!

Welcome aboard, Stephanie and family. We have a Stephanie travelling with us too.

We usually stay in the Orlando area the night before the cruise but a lot of people stay near the port. It's all in your personal preference. It's only an hours drive in the morning from Orlando, so that is not too bad.

We usually book a rental car, one way in each direction. Seems to work out cheaper and easier for us. That way we are in control of our coming and going.

Hi Stephanie, WELCOME! We always fly in the night before and stay in the port area. We stayed in the Orlando area once and traffic was aweful driving in on a Friday morning (I think mostly because we were so excited and it seemed to take forever!)
Anyhow, we have stayed at the Residence Inn to enjoy the free breakfast and it's always been nice. We are staying at the Radisson Resort at the port this time because I got a 2 bedroom suite for $110 on Priceline. We always get a rental car for the first night, turn it in the morning of the cruise and get one again for the ride back to MCO because with 6 of us it's cheaper then Disney transport.

I can tell you that Capt Marvin's for Sting ray City is AWESOME! Very personalized and family oriented service, they also had a money back guarantee when we went with them 2 years ago, their website shoudl tell you if that is still in effect.

Last bit of info, we are doing a little "gift exchange" where each family will be giving little gifts to the others in their Fish Extenders if you'd like to join, it's optional. Just let me know by Oct 11th so that I can add you to the list and send it out to everyone.

OK I finally had time to come up with two more...

A Blatant Rip off of the Dec 18th cruise meet's logo (it's just SO PRETTY I couldn't help myself)
DCL1.jpg

Another option (not plagerized from anyone else lol)
dcl2.jpg

And the Original logo for comparison
cruiselogo-3.jpg

Should we vote? Any other "tag line" ideas that I can work with or are we sticking with "Magic before Christmas"?

I like the Original but that is mainly because I am a fan of Tim Burton.
The graphics and the colors are so vivid and cool.

Thanks for doing these. You have such a talent.:artist:

The new one with the DCL logo is also cool.

I like the "Magic before Christmas" theme.

I love the DCL logo, maybe we could use it if they let us. I love the Tim Burton but my printer wont when it has to print so many colors. Could we do a little less colors or the first DCL logo one!

I really like the plagerized one with the Disney logo!

I'm not a Tim Burton fan at all.
