December 03, 2005 Western Magic?

Kris,

You might want to check out http://www.cruiselineformal.com/ they have great deals on tux's and they are delivered right to your stateroom and you just leave it there when you disembark and they pick it up. Very simple and hassle free.

Heading to Curves on Monday morning. I am also entered into a wt loss challenge at work. $25 entry fee and whoever loses the highest percentage of weight in 45 days wins the pot. So far there is $150 and people can enter up til next Friday. Should be a lot of fun. I'll let you all know about my progress.

Thanks for all the great support. We really appreciate it. It has been 17 days for me and 11 days for John. Keep us in your thoughts.:grouphug:

Kris and Gailyn are the only requests we have so far for door signs. Get those requests in before time runs out.

John would also like to get your opinions on the best color for a 2005 Mustang. We're having a difficult time narrowing the choices.

Susan and John Great job! Lots of pixie dust and "you can do it" thoughts coming your way :sunny: My vote for car color is either fire engine red or a metalic blue. My parents had a '64 or '65 blue mustang when I was little. What a great car. I'm sure they regret ever getting rid of it! BTW, good luck with the diet challenge and Curves! :grouphug:

Kris, congratulations on finding your formalwear. What do they look like???? I give you lots of credit for taking your 6yr old!! I haven't bought anything yet but we should all be looking since the summer stuff should be on sale!!!!

Well, this weekend was a total diet disaster. We went to the Greek festival and ate lots of bakliva, gyros and fries. Yesterday we went to the movies and saw Bewitched and then had pizza and more bakliva for desert. Oh well, maybe tomorrow will be better.....

Off to do more yardwork.......

Gailyn :)

Both are empire waists with a-line skirts - very forgiving. Believe it or not I actually have had a dress on eBay I have been bidding on that's fabulous and right now is only at a whole $15.00. Looks like I'm going to end up with an extra that I may not need but I'm sure not passing it up. The one for semi-formal is a lemon color with rosettes on back waistline. The formal is wine with beading along the bodice. We went with shoes and clutch that are being dyed bridal champagne since they'll go with both.

Thanks on info about the cruise tux. I've been wondering about that but have been so focused on the other stuff that I haven't had the chance to ask. The local tux shop does week long rentals and said that they will match any offer I get from the cruise line if I want to handle it locally.

John and Susan, I'm always partial to the Red Fire color. It's not the typical red and really stands out. It was my first choice with the new Explorer but we were taking from dealer stock and couldn't get it right then with the options I wanted. We ended up with Black which is sharp but a bear to keep clean.

To the KY DUO.....You Can Do It!! I haven't been on line much and decided to drop in and see what's going on over here. You all must be getting very excited!! I'm getting excited for you. :goodvibes

Suse, John..... team work makes the load so much lighter. You CAN do this!

thanks vicki. i found this on page 2. i figured since the last cruise post did so well that this one would too. the post for the 2006 cruise is doing better and i dont see much of jeanna:rotfl2: . i hope everyone is doing great. is it cruise time yet?

Hello to All! :wave2:

Thought I'd check in and see what been happening. I've weighed the options and I think I'm taking Susan's advice and going with the cruise line tux rental rather than local. I think doing it local just puts more pressure on Jeff for his work schedule considering he's already having dispatch manipulate loads to insure that he'll be home on Friday in order to leave for the hotel. But...he could decide to override my decision. I guess it'll all depend on how busy the freight appears to be from Thanksgiving on.

Doing good on my diet. Jeff's not leaving for the west coast until Sunday so having him home has thrown off my exercise program but I'll get back on track.

Are we ready to leave yet???? :cheer2:

Just for the record... I have been keeping up. Just been a little busy. Things are starting to slow a little so I have had a little more 'me' computer time lately. I have even managed to get a chat in with Pat, Vicki, mom and Sarah. Not all at the same time of course but I will take it!!

Susan - you have encouraged me. I am getting back on my plan, too. I was doing really well, just got lazy. Bad me, I know. But I also wanted to drop in really quick to say a HUGE Happy Birthday to Dad!!! So, here it goes.....

Happy Birthday Hanno Dad!!!!

frieght should be slow from turkey day to new years. after 12 years driving its always been the same year after year

Jeff's been driving for over 20 yrs and this is his best year yet...of course it's his busiest! I'm really hoping that he'll be ahead enough on pay that he can take off turkey day on and still draw checks - that would be fabulous. I have personal days coming so I might be able to take off a little extra too and start vacation a little early!!

Kris, who does Jeff drive for?

I am 3 pay periods (6 weeks) away from having all of my PTO (paid time off) hours to cover 2 weeks off. I am going to work the Sunday before we leave so I only have to use 2 days that week and 3 the next.

Tell Jeff that if you go with cruise formal wear you won't have to lug the tux with you and possible have it get wrinkled. Last year John's tux was hanging on the closet door when we entered the stateroom, and that's exactly how we left it the morning we disembarked. We rented the 2 coat option so he had a white and black coat and could switch for formal/semi-formal.

We actually bought him a tux back in January. Sam Meyer's had a huge tux sale and we got the whole shabang for $150.00 including a really cute disney character vest, shoes, the works.

Well have to head to bed, gotta get up and get to Curves early before it gets to hot outside.

Susan,
Jeff Drives for Lawton Valley Lines. Because of common ownership they are the in-house carrier for Honee Bear Canning here in town but haul for a lot of different people. He goes coast-to-coast but has been running really heavy lately picking up down in Goshen, IN and delivering in Richland, WA then loading back out of Yakima, WA for the market in Detroit or for Meijers in Lansing. This week has been the longest stretch that he's been home in quite a while. Who does John drive for or is he an owner-operator?

The more that I think about it the more I like the idea of using the cruise line formal. I think it'll save us so much time. It's going to be hard enough for me with month end, fiscal year-end and commissions (I'm handling the accounting stuff) that it will help alot to not even have to worry about it.

Has it is going at Curves? I'm really starting to crack down on my diet and etc. It's tough!!!

Kris

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!!! The weather in Cleveland is beautiful this weekend. Perfect for cookouts and fireworks! :sunny:

On Friday we had friends and their kids over for a cookout and swimming, yesterday we went to one of DD Nicole's friends house for a party and there were tons of kids, and today we're going to a friend of DS Matt's for a cookout. Tomorrow we're having family over and then going to see fireworks. I think I need a vacation to recover! Needless to say, watching my diet has been hard and the alcohol consumption hasn't helped either!! However, I did just sign up for another 2 months of exercise "boot camp" LOL.

Kris, your dresses sound great! :) I have to get with it and do some shopping. I just haven't been motivated. I'd like to get a new swimsuit cover up as well.

Susan and John, more pixe dust and "YOU CAN DO IT" thoughts are coming your way for your smoking challenge. As I remember, there were good days and stretches and some times when you fall off the wagon. Just remember why it's important to you, and climb back on...GOOD JOB KEEPING UP WITH CURVES!! :cheer2: How do you like it?

HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY!!!

Gailyn :flower:

After finishing the formal shopping I was just beginning to feel bummed about not having anything pressing to do for the trip but thanks to Gailyn I DO have something....swimsuit and cover up! :cool1: Yippee! :cheer2:

Holiday weekend is pretty quiet here. Jeff left this morning so he's missing all the celebration in town. We have the parade this afternoon and fireworks tonight. Tomorrow is going to be a lazy and "work around the house" day...that is if I'm motivated! I may just take advantage of the sunshine!!

Kris

Kris,

John works for a company called Air Ride, Inc, for the time being. As soon as I get the money from my accident last October we're buying a new car so he can look for a local driving job. That way he can make decent $$$ and be home every night.

Being gone all the time is really getting to him (us).

Thanks soooooooo much for all your words of encouragement. Wednesday it will be 4 weeks for me, and tomorrow it will be 3 weeks for John. It's been a lot harder for him than it has been for me, but he smoked a whole lot more than I did, and I was used to going for many hours, between breaks at work, without smoking.

Curves is going good so far I think. I like it and I think that's a plus. Never before have I been motivated to get out of bed and go work out on my days off. I went all 3 days last week. I only get to go twice this week due to the holiday and my work schedule. I am also taking part in a wt loss challenge at work. The person with the highest % of wt loss in 45 days wins the pot. Last I heard there was $400 up for grabs. That sure would buy some cute new clothes, including a bathing suit for the cruise, so ya'll keep your fingers crossed. LOL

Happy Birthday America!!!!

Happy 4th of July everybody!!!

Stay safe all.

:cheer2:  Yay, Susan and John! Ya'll are doing so well!!!

Hope everybody had a happy Independence Day. We didn't do much, but Sarah did get to see the fireworks, cause you can watch them from our front yard.

I paid off our cruise today!! Whoo Hoo! So we are really going on this cruise. Now if I could just figure out which excursions I want to do.

Did everybody play the scavenger hunt game on the DCL site? If you haven't, go play! Maybe one of us will be the winner of the 7 night cruise. ( I won't get my hopes up, but it sure would be nice) :wizard: :p

Hmm, I've never gone to the DCL site. I think I'll check it out. The only other sites I check occasionally are the Daves DCL Tribute and Passporter. I also look at the Disney Vacation Club website every once in awhile.

Today was the kids first day of summer camp. It starts at 9:00 and goes until 4:00. They have swim lessons in the a.m. followed by a sports game then lunch, a craft then more swimming or game time until Grandpa or I pick them up. I've been trying to get out of work a little early a couple nights a week so that I can pick them up. They said that they had a great time today. I'm so glad. My DD was very apprehensive about doing something new.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July!

Susan and John, great job!!!! Keep up the hard work. I hope each day is getting a little easier! :)
