December 03, 2005 Western Magic?

It's called Ultra Lite. It's originally from Australia. You pay for 5-week increments. You can repeat the increments as many times as necessary until you get down to your ideal weight. Basically you measure everything. It's all about getting the right amount of proteins verses carbs in order to have your body kick into fat burning mode. They give you a set list of foods and portion sizes so you don't have to really think too much. You also have nutritional powder packets (chocolate and vanilla) that you mix with water and drink four times a day to ensure that your body has all the nutrients it needs. Of course you drink water, water, water in order to make release the water it has stored up (sounds kind of backwards but that's how it works). In addition to the weight plan I also started taking vitamin supplements to try and get my system back in shape. They're custom made based on a profile I filled out about my lifestyle, health issues, concerns, etc.

Not cheap by any means (actually is about the same as Jenny Craig) but this is a life changing thing...not just a fad diet! :teeth:

Kris, the plan sounds logical. I'm glad it's going well for you! It's so hard to make those life changing adjustments !!!! The plan sounds similar to the Physicians Weight Loss program I did after each of the kids was born. If there's a Physicians Weight Loss Center near you Susan, you could compare it the cost of the Austrailian plan. Similar body type/profile, vitamins, protein suppliments (which were very good) 2 -3 times per day and lots of water. It really worked for me after the kids were born. I just slowly got away from it when I returned to work after maternity leave. Its the meal planning and healthy food preparation time that gets me off track.

We do a decent job of healthy eating but eating out during the work week is a diet problem. If I could stick with one thing it would be planning meals and shopping ahead and getting home in time to cook what I planned so it dosen't get wasted! I go in spurts of bad weeks and good weeks when it comes to this.

Kris, if you have a Target near you, my favorite exercise tapes are "The firm". They have a set of 3- aerobices, toning and abs. Nice fun workout (or at least as fun as it could be while you're sweating and gasping for air, hmm, now that sounds like something else entirely LOL!! )

I'm still working out from 6-7 am before work. The summer session is only 3 mornings per week. I'll be glad when the next session starts because it will be back to 4 days per week!! I need all the help I can get!! :flower:

We were ready to go to page 2, we can't have that!

Has anyone heard from Diane (NJCRUISERS)? I haven't heard from her lately.

Have a nice night!

gailyn

Gailyn, thanks for the input. I'll check out Target and see what they got. I've got a couple different workouts that I've been doing but haven't found "the one" yet...besides the one for my gazelle...been doing the lower body workout and abs workout and it seems to be going pretty well.

Been working with my new digital camera to get used to it before we sail. The photos from the 4th of July turned out really good. The printer port works really good and it's nice to be able to print a photo off at home if you want to.

Doing some work at home this morning...real work-not just housework. It's been so hectic at the office that I brought some of it home in order to catch up. Our system is internet based so I can log in from home - makes it really handy. Jeff's running loads of cherries out of Traverse City to the production plant here in Lawton so even though he's "home" he's not here. DD (age 6) went with him yesterday and had a blast!!!

Have a great day all!

Kris - The other things we bought at target for the cruise were the 2 clear over the door shoe holders and the sea sick wrist bands. Both purchases worked well.

However, the best thing we brought was a piece of canvas luggage that holds 6 bottles of wine or in my inlaws case, bottles of gin or vodka! We have taken it on many vacations and it has been great. You can check it like luggage at the airport and at the cruise it gets delivered to your room like regular luggage. We ordered it online. We brought several bottles of wine and ordered the "all hands on deck" cheese platter and hosted happy hour in our cabins (we had two adjoining). It reduced our alcohol bill substantially. We still did one wine package among the four of us for dinner.

Kris, do you think your DD would like a pen pal when we get a little closer? DD will be 8 in Sept. but is a little shy. Last cruise having pen pals made her trip so much more special. Matt (DS just turned 6 in April) made 3 great friends and NJCruisers son Matt is cruising with us again.

While I'm thinking of it, the magnetic door signs were great. DH printed one out for each door and it made it easy for the kids to find our cabins.

Well, were off to baseball.....

Have a great day :flower:

gailyn

Gailyn, as far as a penpal, my girls are always looking for friends - but they won't be with us on this trip. This is Jeff and my first vacation and with us being a "merged" family we really can't afford to take everyone this time. We're going to scout it all out and then start the savings plan for next time.

Speaking of luggage - how much are you allowed to take? What about at the airport (neither or us have ever flown)?

Have a great one!

I hate when we're on page 2!

Kris, sorry I forgot that this was an adult trip for the two of you  . I hope your diet is continuing to go well. As far as luggage goes, I think two checked bags per person for the flight. Your airline can give you their specifics on weight. We usually take an empty duffle bag or two for the stuff we have to bring home!

Have a great week!

Gailyn :)

hi pat

Hey guys!!!!

I see things were getting a little quiet around here. Everyone must be ramping up for the cruise. We have been out a lot with Rick's dad having surgery so my online time has been cut drastically!!!! Good luck to all trying to lose weight. I, too, am in that boat. The cruise didn't put much weight on me but the next 6 months sure did!!! :confused3 As of this morning, I am down 8.4 pounds. My goal to December is 31.6 more. It's gonna be tough but I think I can swing it. That will get me to my final goal. As long as I come close, I will be very happy. :cheer2: It looks like Rick's mom and dad may join us on this cruise. It all depends if he can hunt again. If he can, he has a trip planned that weekend. If hunting is out per the doctor's orders, they are cruising!! pirate:

A couple of you were wondering what rooms were left in our group but I haven't been home to answer the IM's. Right now, I have 2 connecting cat 6's open (6536 & 6538), 2 regular 6's, and one cat 8, 9, 10 and 11. These are all still March 2004 prices, early or late seating (reserved as early), and get the onboard credit ($75 or $150 depending on cat). I will only have them until the end of this month and then they go to the current market price. So, if those brothers/sisters and fam are still considering, they need to think fast. Besides, do you realize that final payment is due in 2 months?!?! :earseek: My how time has flown. :hourglass I can't believe we booked this over a year ago already. :rolleyes1

Well, I am off to try to exercise a little bit before bed. Hoping the scale will be gentle with me in the morning. :love2:

Talk to you all soon!! Don't forget to start getting those cruise piles started. Wouldn't want to leave anything important behind. And, by the way, we are just missing the deadline for passports being required. Think of the $$$ you are saving this year (unless you have to get one for next year). :earboy2:

Susan - Better get moving on your challenge. You have new clothes to buy! Perhaps another friendly competition is in order for us cruisers again??? By the way, I never got my drink!!!!

Jeanna

Never got your drink? Who could tell with all the food and drink we had on that cruise! I had to send my liver out for rehab. ;)

Oh I'm not complaining. Just pointing out an oversight.:drinking1

Actually if I remember correctly, Jeanna, we let Pat off the hook since drinks were so expensive and there were soooooooo many she had to buy.:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

is it time for the cruise yet?

John, Congratulations! Enjoy the new car!!

Jeanna, I'm going to send you a pm on the rooms that you have left. Friends of ours just expressed an interest in going.

Well, off to pick Nicole up at the horse stable. She's been at a pony party all afternoon in sweltering heat. I think we'll have to stop at the ice cream store. Maybe tomorrow I'll resume my diet LOL!! :flower:

Have a great weekend!
