Gailyn - glad to hear that both you and Matt are feeling better. Seems like you guys have been sick for quite a while.

Western Excursions - has anyone gone to Paradise Beach on Cozumel? If so, I'd like to hear what you thought of it.

Gailyn (or anyone with 5-6 year olds) - if you guys are doing Sting Ray city then we may do it too. Rick and I have done it twice and loved it. Our Matt would like it if he has friends on board. Otherwise he might just freaked out like my sister-in-law and niece were a few years ago. They were out of the boat for about 1 second and then back on board. They enjoyed watching us but I think they missed out on all the fun.

We might be doing MVMCP before the cruise also. I saw a few people (Gailyn Popovich and Grayfal and others) thinking about going on Thursday. It would be fun to run into you there. Last year - the day after the cruise - with a million (almost) people at MK we ran into the Popovich family without planning it. Probably couldn't find each other with the crowds if we did play it ... LOL.

We have some people on this thread who cruised together last year. I'm curious who did. On the 11/27/04 cruise we had Popovich (Gailyn), April Riddle (who might not be on this cruise anymore) and Kelani's Mommy (I think - we didn't hang out because our kids were different ages). Anyone else I missed - SORRY if I did.

It seems there were a few on the Western the first week of December. Who are you? What excursions or side trips did you do last year?

I'd like to hear what excursions everyone is doing this year. Its so much fun to do them together. One of the best times of last year was the Pirate snorkel trip. The kids had a ball ... and so did the adults. Banana Benders ... YUMMY.

Hi NJ Cruisers,

My DH , daughter (6) and I will be flying down to attend the MVMCP on December 1st before our cruise on the 3rd.

We have attended the MVMCP for the last two years and stayed at the Pop Century, but this will be our first cruise.

I would love to know what excursions others would recommend. My daughter is 6 and I am just not sure what excursions would be good for her. Looking for suggestions.

What are your kids ages?

The trip was great! Thank goodness we decided to drive past Atlanta both days. HORRIBLE traffic!! It took my cousin and her family 14 hours to get from Chattanooga to Orlando!!! The new truck seems to have done quite well for us. We didn't get an 'are we there yet' for many, many hours!! We were already more than half way to our destination that day. The DVD player and the Game Cube didn't hurt either. The weather was really good while we were there. We did get a little rain, but then again, WE GOT HAIL AT HOME!!!! Yes, came home to lots of hail damage. Nothing to get all worked up over. Just some damaged siding, fence and holes in EVERY ONE of my screens on 2 sides of my house. That's ok, though. The neighbor has 2 broken windows. I can't complain. It was hailing here and I was lounging by the pool.

Good job Sarah, on getting Mom and Dad on April Fool's day. I actually made it through that day at work without any mishaps. No nasty jokes this year.

We would like to do MVMCP since we are going to be in Florida 2 days prior to the cruise, but there is no way in h*ll we're going to try it with 4 little girls, way to expensive, maybe next year.

As for excursions we are thinking about doing Stingray City with the 2 older girls in Grand Cayman, we'll probably just try the beach in Cozmel, and I would like to take the 2 older kids to the Mel Fisher Museum in Key West (work in a little education) while John visits with his aunt with the little girls. But who knows for sure what we'll end up doing.

Hi Cindy!! My son will be 6 on the cruise. We'll have to get the kids together the first day. It was SO much fun last year having pen pals - with pictures so he could find them. In fact, we changed our cruise date this year to be with one of his buddies from last year. We're thinking about MVMCP on December 1st also.

Excursions - I haven't done any investigating yet but I think we'll only do one excursion at most - Stingray City. DH and I did it twice and it was fun. Not sure if DS6 will like it, but if there are other kids on the boat he'll have a ball just hanging out. SOOOOO .... I'll need to know who others are using for this excursion so I can book the same.

We'd like to snorkel in Key West. We have our own equipment so I want to look for a beach we can use. In Cozumel we'll do a beach. We live at the Jersey Shore but still need to search out beaches wherever we go.

We plan on doing Captain Marvin's in the GC. We have three kids, DD12, DD8, & DS6. Does anybody have any experience with kids this age doing Stingray City?

Hello all, I'm back, at least for this week.

We did Captain Marvins 2 hour tour (always have to sing that part a la Gilligans Island ) on the Western we took in August of "03. Had a wonderful time, loved feeding the stingrays!

I plan to do the butterfly museum in Key West this time around. We did the trolley tour last cruise and it was too HOT HOT HOT!!! Maybe it will be nicer in December; August is a killer.
