December 03, 2005 Western Magic?

Hello,

If you want to update the pre-cruise list, we'll be at AKL from 11/27 to 12/3, before we head over to Port Canaveral for the cruise.

Take care,

Bill

Hi everyone, ok I just called 1-877-275-2921 Atlantis Resort and spoke with the reservationist.

I booked a room in the Beach Tower for 2 Adults, 1 Child at $185 including taxes. I can arrive at any time and have full access to the resort. I was also told that it is about a 1/2 drive from port and that taxi's are available.

I was able to book an excursion at Nassau through the website. Dolphin Encounter is back on the cruise plan!
Yee-Ha! :cool1:

Just confirmed that the Nassau excursions through DCL are on the website in case people haven't been on lately.

So....what's everybody planning on doing at Nassau?

:sunny: Yuppo, just booked our Atlantis Beach Day! Now if I can just force myself to finish packing.

:rotfl2: Yes- it's sad but true.... It's snowing in Iowa and I'm loving it!!! It has been such a beautiful fall that I would have been very disappointed to leave on a cruise Dec. 3 and have it still be warm in Iowa. Only those who have lived in the Midwest through winter will understand.

I am now ready for the cruise.... even though I've not packed a thing!!! Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow! Only predicting 1-3" by tomorrow morning but every little bit helps!!! It's beautiful white stuff! :cool1: :rotfl2:  :rotfl2: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc  :rotfl2: :cool1:

So is it better to book Atlantis thru Disney Cruise Line or do it myself. I wasn't sure if the Disney excursion included a hotel room? Please advise . . .
Hi Cindy, the Disney Atlantis Beach excursion doesn't include the room. It includes transportation, lunch, and the beach. It doesn't give you access to the pool or slides, but I thinik you can visit the aquarium and the Dig (whatever that is). Hope this helps a little :) .

Hi Linda,

So it sounds like booking a room directly with Atlantis is a better deal since I will have full access to the resort. Have you ever been to Atlantis before, if so what do you think?

Never been there, but I have been checking out this site:

http://www.atlantis.com/flash.aspx

We booked it through Disney, since I won't be going on any slides :earseek: , and we really want to just chill on the beach and maybe play a few slots, (ok, maybe a lot of slots :rolleyes1 ).

I figured with my family, the price was about the same but with Disney they do all the work and I don't have to fret over more changes this close to cruise time. With Disney, they provide lunch (which is VERY expensive there). With the room, they have automatic gratuties, too so don't forget to factor that in if you haven't already. Atlantis does have a dining plan you can get for the day as well. The last time I checked, one day was somewhere around $70 per adult. If you went with the gourmet, I think it was close to $100 per adult. Food is very expensive there so make sure you figure that into your cost as well. The buses run every 30 minutes back to the ship for a few hours. Again, the no worries factor. Each has their ups and downs but you just have to pick which is more important to you. HTH

We booked the Atlantis too. $185 (including tax) through Expedia. I hope I didn't make a mistake - oh well, I'm sure DS6 Matt will have a great time on the slides and we'll all enjoy the aquarium. Guess we'll be seeing a lot of you there. Are any of the other kids going to be there?

Diane :fish:

Hi Diane

We are going to Atlantis also. Emily is 10 and Addison is 4 plus the 5 adults. I know the girls aren't exactly his normal choice for playmate but Emily is great to play with lots of people different ages. I thought about taking my cooler to Atlantis( if allowed) with cold water and maybe sandwiches. I will only do this if the resort says its okay. I did check for different food choices on their website and there are several places to grab salads, burgers and wraps around different pools. The also have Johnny Rockets at the resort, so there are cheaper alternatives than the full service restaurant's. Just don't forget the SUNBLOCK!!!! :sunny: :sunny:

Susie

Hi Susie & Diane,

We will also be going to Atlantis. I booked a room as well at the Beach Tower. I have to say the cooler is a great idea.

I sent Diane a PM a few minutes ago. But Susie, my daughter Ryleigh is 6, so I am sure between the four kids they will have a blast! I just asked Diane if she had any plans on getting from the ship to the resort. I have some info on a limo, do you have any ideas on transportation?

Since your name is mustanggirl do you have one?

I have a white rag top 2000 model :cool1: My husband has a 1969 fastback that he is restoring. Thats how we met he was reading a mustang mag while visiting his Granddad in hosp and told me he had one, I was hooked! I haven't got ideas on transportation other than taxi I was told was $7 one way and water taxi around $6 round trip.

We are Mustang people too! I have a 93 GT, my 6 year thinks our 1967 Convertible is hers and DH has a 66 GT Fastback and 1969 Mach I (both restoration projects, for years). I love it how you meet your husband. I grew up a car chick and DH had to adapt. I work for Saleen on the Ford GT program so I am around hot cars all day long! At work they call me GT Cindy (that is also my license plate).

I heard the water taxi wasn't that great, but Scrapper Jill used a limo and I want to check it out.

I may be repeating a prior post, but I just went on the DCL site and the new schedule of ports is on there. We were hoping for 2 Castaway Cay days, but alas, it is not to be so...now onto lookup Nassau stuff. :smooth:
