December 03, 2005 Western Magic?

The weather here is delightful, it is only 52 degrees here, so Ed and I spent the morning mulching the front beds, with me wearing my Disney sweatshirt, and not a bead of sweat in sight, just the way I like it.

Since we will be eating "off the street" this trip (LOL, Pat!), maybe we can pick a parade spot to meet with all our other DIS friends. Yes, Sarah, turkey legs for us on this trip :teeth: .

Hi Gailyn,

That is sool cool that your family will be at LTT the same as us. I can't find where I have the confirmation info, must keep looking for it. I made the reservations so long ago! We will have to meet you somewhere before hand.

Yeah, Ryleigh is pretty excited. All we talk about in this house is the cruise. What will we do afterwards?

After the cruise do people still talk on this board, I don't know what I would do with my evenings and spare time at work if I wasn't reading or chatting.

What's up with the Lime Green Mickey's? I must have missed that thread. Fill me in I don't want to miss out. Do I have to go to Lowes and steal more Mickey paint chips?

I think the Lime Green Mickey Heads are a DIS thing. You can make your own or get the paint chips from Home Depot - shaped like a Mickey Head. Fortunately I was really obsessive last year and I laminated some of mine. Those held up and I have them again for this year. The problem is ....... finding them. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I hope everyone will be wearing the Mickey heads or have them on their bags the first day. It's great to meet people in line and first day at the pool. If it's not those should we do something else?

the lime green mickey heads are at home depot not lowes the lime green indentfiy us as dissers. we do talk on the thread after the cruise on our last cruise which was in nov we talked 2 monthes dec and januarary.

Yup, lime green or duct tape gray are the "official" DIS colors. Grayfal made us some "Yes, I'm a DISSER" lime green Mickey heads to tie onto our pin lanyards for MNSSHP, (or MSNBC as Pat called it :rotfl: ) and we actually had a few people stop us and identify themselves as fellow Dissers. It was great!

BTW, Cindy, that Ryleigh is one adorable young lady!

Not only do we still talk to our former cruise mates, we cruise with them again!

Thank you!

I can't wait to meet everyone. So people do wear their pin laynards on the ship? I will have to go pick-up a few more Lime Mickeys!

Can anyone tell me if there is somewhere on Castaway Cay for kids to stay while parents go off on their own (i.e. like the Oceaners Club).
on castaway cay oceaneers lab and club they go to scuttle's cove

Cindy - they don't take the kids swimming but they have some pretty cool stuff. Last year we wanted to take the kids to the Dinosaur Dig but they were having so much fun on the beach that we missed it. This year I want to take Matt there for a couple of hours so Rick and I can go snorkeling. We have our own gear and it would be good to use it!!!

I have to make a stop at Home Depot!! I didn't laminate my lime green Mickey's last year and they didn't make it past the first day. I need to make new ones!! Diane, did you scan and enlarge them before you laminated? I need to think of something better to do!!

I already have the designs for our door signs. I just have to print them on magnetic paper.

Did we decide that we're having our Dis meet at 3:00 Outlook bar if weather permits and prominade lounge if it's yucky out (which I know it will not be! :goodvibes ) or did we decide to have it inside??? I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.

Linda and Cindy are you planning on watching the first parade or the second? I'd like to watch from Main St. this year so we can enjoy the "snow". Last year we watched from LTT area and it was a great view, but no snow! It would be fun to watch together! Last year I brought a disposable blanket/tarp from Costco that I carried in the rental stroller and we kept it for the trip then tossed it. It was great for parades and fireworks watching. I'd spread it out on the curb or wherever and the kids and I would have a snack while we waited for the parade to start.

We're planning on being at MK all day Thursday. We're sleeping in, going to breakfast at Ohana and maybe making a stop at WL to see the Christmas decorations. Then off to MK for the afternoon and for the Christmas party :cheer2: .

Today I hope to do some reading and researching about the how the beaches in GC fared and about Costa Maya. If we go to Costa Maya I'd like to be more aware of what's offered :) .

Are there any SCUBA OR SNUBA divers in our group :3dglasses ? DH would like to do a resort course with someone. He did one in St. Lucia and one in Barbados years ago and loved it. He's always planned to get certified but there's been no time. So he's content for now with resort courses.

Gailyn - I just used the Mickey Heads from Home Depot. I tried scanning and printing but they came out more yellow than green. I just couldn't get the right color. I'm going to look for them tonight. I sure hope I find them or I'll be back in Home Depot taking all the green ones.

I hope we have the DIS Meet outside if it's nice - much better for the kids to run around. But if it's inside we'll be there too.

Happy Halloween everyone. Matt went Trick or Treating today and had a great time. He outlasted his cousins and a friend from school that he met on the way. In my town we Trick or Treat on the 30th instead of the 31st. There's a big parade on the 31st (2nd largest in the world they say). Matt was Batman. What about your little ones?

Since it was a beautiful day we spent the day carving our pumpkins, washing windows and cleaning our patio for winter.

Ryleigh is going to be a 50's girl with a lepoard print "Scottie Dog" skirt. We did a practice run with her outfit and made sure the pumpkins looked alright.

Gailyn - Isn't the first parade at 8:30? We went to the second last year and Ryleigh was asleep through most of it. I think the first would be better. During the second parade is when you want to hit space mountain and those other rides that have lines.

We watched the parade from the center facing the Castle the last two years, doesn't the snow mess up your hair (yes, it is a pretty site). Snack, I will be hitting the bakery for the Raspberry Chocolate cookies (calories +++) but they are awesome. I even bought some to take home and made them last two weeks just eating little bites they are so good! Will you have a cell phone with you, that way we could find each other.

We fly down Thursday morning arriving about 10AM and will be staying at Pop Century I figure we will have lunch probably at Downtown Disney and kick around there for a little while and then go to the hotel and let Ryleigh play at the Hippy Dippy Pool. I plan to head over to MK just before 4 PM since we only have tickets for the party.

Okay, now that it is here,,,you can 'right click' and save to your computer...put it into a word document and you can 're-size' it - make it bigger and print it out - cut out 2 and put them back to back....I will laminate some for the trip.

Okay guys....confirm for me...the "lime green" from Home Depot....is it what they call Alien Green? :confused3

:wave2: Yup!

Yes .. the Outlook Bar is on Deck 10. We didn't actually sit at the bar - we just got some drinks (smoothies for the kids) and sat on chairs over to the side. There was an area of the deck for the kids to play.

Kris - sounds like you made your trip to Home Depot!!! I think I ended up with 2 different greens last year because I couldn't remember which one was right. But they're close enough. :bounce:
