December 03, 2005 Western Magic?

Add us to the list. It will be me and my DD on the cruise. She will turn 9 next month. We were on the Wonder in 2004, and she would love to have a new friend to hang with in the clubs. You can email us at mommynt1996@yahoo.com. My DD name is Treasure.

Welcome new cruisers! This weekend I'll sit down with Nicole (8) and Matt (6) and we'll do some emails! We're getting so close I can hardly wait :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Did anyone book any excursions through Disney????

Have a great day! :sunny:

We haven't tried pin trading yet. Will my DS6 like it? Are any of the younger kids doing it? Where do you pin them on the kids? ...hat or sash or just on their shirts?

Welcome Mommynt and Mustangirl. My son is only 6 so he doesn't make a good pen pal for your 9 year old girls - although he does like older girls. You just found each other and there are several others that age. Gailyn's (Popovich) daughter Nicole is 8.

Gailyn - the DIS meet at 3:00 at the Outlook bar worked great last year. The previous year we tried to meet during the Sail Away party and never found each other.

We haven't booked any excursions yet. We don't plan to do any through Disney. Will either take a cab to beach or Chankanaab or maybe an independent snorkel excursion. I just need to start (or finish) researching and make a decision.

Very cool about your surprise Jeanna. I can never pull it off. I've given up. Last year we had a surprise Anniversary Party for my brother and his wife. It seemed to be working out until the night before my sister in law called to say she would be coming on time but my brother had to work and he'd be arriving later. YIKES ... a surprise anniversary party with only 1/2 the couple. We had to tell my brother what was going on so he'd get out of work and they would arrive together.

Coolers - they don't like you to bring the hard sided ones, but I think people do any way. Check the threads about coolers. We bring a soft sided. We take bottled water and some room service sandwiches to the beaches (not CC - plenty of food there). In Cozumel we'll want to try the Mexican food so we may not bring the cooler this year.

I don't think we'll be doing any excursions through DCL either. In GC we'd like to take a taxi to Rum Pointe for time at the beach for snorkeling and swimming and maybe a trip to the butterfly farm.

What's everyone else planning??

Gailyn :sunny:

I just saw something about a new kids area on the Magic. Something on Deck 2. The thread didn't say what ages but people who are traveling in the next month said they'd report back about it. If anyone sees anything please post to the rest of our thread.

We have two little ones who would love to have friends in the kids clubs, especially DD7. It is sooooo much easier to do the kids clubs when you have a friend. Email to kids@kriproperties.com if you like.

We will be on the December 3rd Magic and have a DD(12), DD(8) and DD(6).
All of them would LOVE  to be pen pals with any other girls traveling at that time. We will be in #8088 (I think? )

Welcome Ken and Michelle! I'll help DD Nicole (8) send and email tomorrow. She'll be so excited to have a couple more pen pals. Last year having pen pals made the trip so much fun for the kids (and the parents ;) !) Both Nicole and DS Matt (6) are starting to look forward to the cruise.

Disneyrus- Nicole and I will send an email to your DDs as well.

We'll be in cabin 6622. Is there a way to post everyones cabin #s, names and ages???? I'm not that advanced :confused3 !

Hi guys. We are doing mostly non disney excursions. We may do a Grand Cayman site seeing tour through Disney. In Cozumel we are doing the dolphin swim, which you can't book through Disney. Treasure wants to go to the Butterfly farm on G.C., and Key West we are just going site seeing. Treasure is 8, but will be 9 on the cruise. She would love to have pen pals, you can email us at mommynt1996@yahoo.com. Do any of you know what scrapbooking supplies are avaliable on the cruise? The only homework Treasure has is to do for the cruise is make a journal/scrapbook of her trip. She is going to pick out the pictures, do the writing, the layout and I will help her with the background. I believe we have the late dinner setting, I don't know our rotation. We booked room 6515, but who knows last time our room got changed, from Cat 12 to 11. Are we going to do a dis meet on the cruise, and if so what are the plans. pirate: Is any one planing on dressing up for pirate night on the cruise?

Connie

Hi Connie,

My DD Ryleigh is 6, this will be her first cruise, our email is macphrsn@sbcglobal.net.

I have seen a couple of post about DIS Board Meets, I would love if someone could list when they are. I would love to know who I have been chatting with.

Our room is 6126.

We are planing, on our own, to do the Aquarium at Key West. We booked through Disney one of the Grand Caymen Island tour with Rays. Booked on our own a dolphin swim (DD12, DD8, Me) and a Dolphin Encounter (DH & DD6).

I've been to Grand Caymen numerous times and think the sting rays are my favorite. I booked the island tour since I wanted the rest of the family to see the whole island.

Do you think my DD6 almost 7 would be ok with the sting rays? I really want to do this excursion but I'm worried about her.

I must admit that getting into the water is a scary feeling because you can see the dark shadows moving across the bottom. We are bringing our DD6, DD8 & DD12. I figure worst case they stay in the boat and watch. They will still see the feeding of the rays and usually the guide will pick one up for people to touch and hold. (They are huge!)
I think it will still be worth seeing at any age.

We are doing the Aquarium at Key West and they are suppose to allow people to feed rays and sharks. I'm hoping this will get the girls use to the animals.

Time will only tell

Oh cool, if the kids can stay on the boat I am all for it. My DH isn't too crazy about this but it will be an adventure. Have your made your reservation yet for the Stingrays? Our kids could hang out together!

Is everyone getting EXCITED?? We are doing stingray city in Grand Caymen with group called Moby Dick tours. They have steps to get back into the boat and with 2 Grandma's going this looked easier than Captain Marvins. We have ressie for 9:30 they will meet us at the dock. Cozumel we are doing Dolphin swim for DD and my friends huband. While my friend and her DD Addison do the encounter. Swim is at noon and encounter is 2:30. Key West is just sightseeing, will probably rent a cart or something to help Nana and Grandma Wanda get around. Our e-mail is jeks@wk.net for e-mails for the girls if we missed anyone.

We are booked on the Island Tour + Snorkel leaving at 9:45 at Grand Cayman. This let's you also go to the turtle farm which is fun. They let you pick up the baby turtles. The kids will love it. Be sure to purchase a RUM Cake(Captain Morgan's is my favorite). Bring some home as Christmas gifts. They are awesome!

I have been looking at getting a few cakes to bring back. I found Tortuga Rum Cake Co info online, but I'm not sure about Captain Morgan's. Where do you buy them and do you know the price and size? Tortuga has mini 4 oz that I was getting for teachers at school. I also wanted to buy several larger ones for friends.

Does anyone know what night each show will be on? I have searched the DCL web site but cannot locate anything.
