Dec 5, 2009 -- now traveling to Tortola

This is a very odd first post for someone who is not only new to the thread but also to the boards:confused3 I am sorry, did you post on the wrong thread by mistake? If not, if you are on our cruise please introduce yourself.

Methinks Sherman is not cruising with us at all. He's just advertising with that link at the bottom of his post. I believe that's against Disboards rules.

I am a sherman.

I m not on your cruise. I thought of sharing some travel tips for a successful cruise travel.

Hadley,

This is my second disney cruise. My first was the 4th cruise for DCL. I stayed once before at AKL, again years ago. I joined DVC about a year ago, so I am using points for this one, in a Navigators' Veranda.

Wow--so it has been a loooong time since you were on a Disney cruise! You will find there have been any small changes over the years (our first cruise was on the Wonder back in 1999; which I think was the Wonder's first year but DCL's second). I think you will find it is better tahn ever now:thumbsup2 It is certainly nice to be able to cruise for more than 4 days.

Aah, I didn't even notice the link:rolleyes1 That is a strong possibility:rolleyes:

Hi Sherman, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Welcome to the DIS:goodvibes Travel tips are nice and much appreciated. However, meet threads are really designed for those who are traveling together to get to know one another. Your tips really belong on the general cruise board. Also, if you are here to just be helpful it is a good idea to take that link out of your signature--advertising on the DIS (With a few special exceptions) is not permitted;)

I checked out the link and it is not for a TA site or for a business...it seems to be just a travel tips website. We will monitor it though, but for now no board guidelines have been broken that I know of. Thanks!

MJ

I just found this web site. It's going to take me awhile to catch up.

My husband and I will be on this cruise. Can't wait to spend Christmas with the mouse on the high seas.

A big Disney hug to all! :grouphug:

Christine

For some reason this board hasn't been letting me sign-on or post correctly... I feel like I've missed a lot. Got our room 1037- anyone else on deck one? Have all of the shore excursions booked that I can possibly imagine- praying for warm water. Just you want all to know that I haven't abandoned ship...LOL:lmao:

See you on the cruise!

Scothen--I added you to the roll call (I see you do not have enough posts to send a PM). Are you laet or early dining, so I can have you fully listed?

Hi,

I have late dining. Do you need anymore info from me? Thanks a lot!

Hi, I'm just overwhelmed having just discovered this page. What info do you give out and how does this whole thing work? this is the cruise for dec 5-12 that was supposed to be st croix and now is tortola, right? We're an "older" couple, late ...well mid... fifties doing our second cruise, first one being the first week in dec. last year for the 4 day. We're not taking any kids -they have to work or take finals. Ummm, i'll stop and wait for replies. Thanks!

Welcome SAK,

Interesting name there. Or are you into football and you liked to sack the QB in high school?

Spend some time, read over the threads and let us know more about yourselves!

6 weeks from today, we'll be on the high seas and on the dance floors (for those who can get away from the kids in the evenings)

do you mean disney christmas on board in advance? the 4 day cruise we took last year didn't do christmas stuff, do they on the 7 day? Dec 5 is still early for me!!

Hi all,

To answer some of the questions I saw on earlier post:

Favorite restaurant: Hard to pick one but Aniamators palate and Lumiers are top of the list. Palo's didn't thrill me or Don.

Next to Lobster I love the chicken fingers, Don likes a good steak.

Room service: Seems to be the only way to get a Mickey bar, late at night it's my weakness.

favorite character: I love Tink! (the original - not tinker Tink)
We both love Stitch. In fact we named our little dog "Stitch", because he's "also cute and fluffy. "

Don and I are an older couple. No kids, but I do love to see them around.

This is our tenth cruise. We're in cabin 5126, main seating (early)

So are there any activities the group are planning on?

Amy here, welcome princess369!

To all of our recent joiners: We are planning a meet the first day (someone help me out with time and place please), as well as breakfast in Lumiere's Sunday morning. MommyofTwinfants has also organized a fish extender gift exchange, so PM her by Nov. 1 if you are interested in joining us for that.

All - Did I miss any events?

Getting excited - made our countdown chain yesterday :cheer2:

Would it make sense for the original thread poster to update that first post with information like: FE gift exchange deadline and contact, meeting times and places, MouseSurfers logo, etc?

It may help with any late joiners and those of us who can't seem to remember when and where we are meeting on the first day :rolleyes1

The original poster is not allowed on the ship anymore:scared1:

No nothing serious, she's having/had a baby around the time of the cruise and no one with 3 months or less to go in their pregnancy are allowed on the cruise. They have resheduled

Just the same, I believe it's best that people read through the threads and get to know everyone anyway. By being on here for 1.5 years now, I already know who I despise!

Sorry, I'm in one of those moods, there are no bad people here. Over the time I've been here, I've only met some really good people with a common love for Mickey and fun!

Well, it might be early, but the ship will likely be decorated. We took a Carnival cruise 2 years ago around that time frame and the Fascination was all decorated. The Magic Kingdom will have already started their Very Magical Christmas Parties as welll so expect a Holly Jolly cruise! :santa:

We are going to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party the day after the ship gets in. Sun 12-13-09. Any one else planning to go from the ship to WDW?

Christmas (Hanukah etc.) isn't a date on a calander, it's a feeling of magic in your heart. :tinker: Any day is a good day for that.

I like Christmas on the ship because I can enjoy all the festivity without having to do any decorating or baking. And I still get home in time to do a little of that before the 25th. :santa:

Hey princess, just noticed you're from upstate New York. Where abouts are you? Though we're around the Toronto area, we'll be flying out of Buffalo. Maybe we'll see you enroute!

WE are also do MVMCP on Sunday 12/13. From the ship we are going to the BC.

For those of you who have cruised before on DCL, do we need to pack our own shampoo, conditioner and soap or is all of that supplied for us in our cabins. I am trying to start my packing plans and what I will need to bring with us.
