Dec.29th 2013 4 nights on the DREAM

:cool1:

I'm excited guys and gals. I was able to reserve the room that I really wanted #5022

So if anyone has ever wanted to see the Cat. 8a Double Porthole room with the divider stop on by. If we are there and the room is decently clean I will let you take a peak.

When someone is ready to organize a meet on board or the FE gift exchange let me know.

Does 5022 have the split bathroom or a single bathroom? We are looking to book that room for a different cruise and we are curious.
Thanks
Steph

Hi Everyone!
We just booked this cruise last week on the Dream!:cool1:
We are doing back to back and this will be the first leg...(agree that cheaper to do 2 on Dream than 1 on Fantasy) :thumbsup2
These will be cruises #12 & 13 for us...
This will be our 4th NYE on a DCL (we only cruise DCL)
I have added our names to the FE list...
Anyone up for a magnet exchange?
Did we start a FB page yet?
Do we have a name for our cruise yet? Last years was Dream"ing" for the New Year 2013....

Our Family consists of me DM Steph, my DH Mike and our DS Julian (12 at sailing time)
Can't wait to meet everyone as this looks like a really fun group already!
And yes we are just like the rest of you Disney Freaks1:rotfl2:

What is a magnet exchange? :confused3[/QUOTE

It is very much like an FE as you sign up and then everyone exchanges magnets. We did it for the first time this past New Years cruise...
You typically give others on the list a magnet that represents where you are from..we are from Pennsylvania so I mad a magnet all about PA....:)

Looks like a few of us are from PA.

I see you've been on a NYE cruise before, although it was a 5 night. I was disappointed to see they reduced it to a 4 night this year.

Were there any special events for NYE?

Yay for PA!!!:cheer2:

Yes this will be our 4th NYE!
We have done 2 on Magic~1st was 7 night, 2nd was 5 night
This will be our second NYE on the Dream..we were bummed about the 5 night double CC being gone so we are doing back to back to create our own double CC 7 night :woohoo:

NYE on the boat is AWESOME...there is a big deck party and they do the fireworks on NYE instead of Pirate Night....there is electricity in the air on NYE...they do free champagne, confetti, count down and do some kind of buffet as well I think...we do Palo on NYE so more food after Palo does not cross our minds :rotfl2:

Magnet exchange sounds fun..but I am not very talented when it comes to crafty stuff. I wish I were.
I also like the idea of a cruise theme name...I will give that some thought. Anyone have suggestions? All my ideas atm are birthday themed...lol.

The magnets are not all homemade...I happen to just love making ours but lots of people just buy a premade state magnet or country magnet:cool1:

Do u just stick the magnet on the persons door...put it in the FE...or give it directtly in hand?
My wife collects magnets so this would be fun. Let me see if I can find some inexpensive Japan magnets.

Just stick them on the door. It is so much fun coming back to the cabin and searching for the newest addition!

I learned about it from the podcast.

I'm not a crafty person, but it seems pretty great.

www.cricut.com

Looks like your typical printer, but can cut everything including magnets.

Hi!

On my very first Disney cruise back in 2007, we included postcards from our local areas in our FE gifts and I've been including ones from Maryland ever since then----I found postcards with local Maryland recipes that I hope people have enjoyed!

I'm not at all crafty---but a cute FE magnet idea would be a calendar for the year 2014 with a nice picture of the Dream---we still have one from our January 2011 Panama Canal Disney cruise that was placed in our FE.

Did someone mention coming up with a cruise name or theme? I only offer some words as I am far from creative---Celebrating, Celebrate, Celebration, Gala, Galore, Dream, Dreaming, Festive, New Year's Eve, Happy, Caribbean, Party. Hopefully someone can come up with something:-)

I could see Mickey and Minnie in a hammock relaxing with a frosty drink waving goodbye to 2013 and saying hello to 2014---with a sunset/sunrise and the Dream in the picture or something similar.

Anybody else have any bright ideas?

Ok Everyone we are getting closer and closer.:cool1:

I have a suggestion for a theme....IT IS JUST A SUGGESTION though and I am open to other themes or suggestions for sure.

How about...

ANOTHER YEAR/ANOTHER DREAM....A NYE CRUISE CELEBRATION

For me it says it all...that it is a NYE cruise on the Dream, but also that with the start of a new year we all have hopes and dreams for the upcoming year.

Sounds good. My only hesitation is that it is quite long. With it that long it is hard to make magnets and FE gifts
Last year we called it Dream"ing" in the New Year 2013 which fit easily on magnets etc.
I think it kind of says it pretty well too.
I am personally willing to go with the majority and I am just throwing this out there. :)

Welcome Jessica and family!
Another California family too.
One of my sons will be 13 for the cruise too.
And thanks for the great tip on the AA airfare; we usually fly southwest, but that's a pretty good price. Pretty sad that when we flew to MCO in '08 and '09 we paid $200-$224 per roundtrip ticket, and I don't even think that was a sale or special, with Southwest.

I'm sure the inside cabins will be fine, and hey, you'll have 2 bathrooms for the 4 of you. That's probably a better ratio than most onboard will have! :thumbsup2

Hope we can meet and say hi,
Shanna

Hi Shanna! Sorry for the delay in replying - busy Spring! :)

You're right about the bathrooms. We usually get 2 cabins (one balcony and one inside across the hall) and having 2 bathrooms - especially with 2 teenagers - is definitely convenient. ;)

How is your airfare search going?
